Abstract

This study aims to examine the ef ect of rock music noise on the memory of students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Gorontalo using a quasi- experimental method with a static group design. A total of 30 students were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group exposed to rock music and the control group that was not exposed. The results of the analysis showed a significant dif erence in memory between the two groups, with a significance value of 0.047 (p < 0.05), which indicates that rock music noise has not a negative impact on student memory. These findings are important for understanding environmental influences on cognitive function, despite limitations in the sample size and type of noise tested

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical phase in individual development marked by complex biological, psychological, and social challenges. Resilience is an important capacity that allows adolescents to adapt positively in the face of life's pressures and difficulties. This article is a literature review that analyzes three quantitative studies on the relationship between social support and resilience in adolescents in three different social contexts: adolescents with disabilities, adolescents living in orphanages, and junior high school students. The results of the study indicate that social support, whether from family, caregivers, peers, or the school environment, has a positive and significant relationship to the level of adolescent resilience. This finding confirms that supportive interpersonal relationships are the main protective factor in forming psychological resilience. Although the intensity and source of social support vary according to social conditions, its role is very important. This study recommends strengthening contextual and adaptive social support systems, as well as the need for further research on internal factors that form adolescent resilience comprehensively and sustainably.

Abstract

Quiet quitting is a phenomenon where employees only do their jobs according to jobdesc without any extra effort to serve the job. Quiet quitting is considered very closely related to work-life balance, when employees have work-life balance at they work and life, then they will survive and focus on every their task and responsibility. The inability of an employee to achieve his work-life balance affects the desire to quit his job (turnover intention). Previous studies on work-life balance and turnover intentions have shown conflicting results, so this study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between work-life balance and turnover intentions. This study used a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling and incidental sampling techniques through questionnaires. The respondents amounted to 165 employees at PT XYZ. Data collection using The relation between work-family balance and quality of life (WLB) scale, and turnover intention scale. The data were analyzed using the classical assumption test and the Pearson correlation hypothesis test. The results of the test showed that there was a significant relationship between work-life balance and turnover intentions and the direction of relationship is negative.

Abstract

Short term memory is the process of storing information in memory for a temporary period of time. Color serves as a powerful information channel for the human cognitive system and has a significant role in improving memory work. This study aims to examine the effect of color use on short-term memory ability in psychology students. This study involved two groups of participants, namely the experimental group who were given colored animal images (chromatic) and the control group who were given black-and-white images (achromatic). Data was collected through pre-test and post-test to measure the amount of information that could be remembered by the participants. Normality test using Shapiro-Wilk showed that the pre-test data of the experimental and control groups were normally distributed, while the post-test data of the control group were not normally distributed. Therefore, the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was used for data analysis. The results of the analysis showed that the experimental group that was given colored pictures showed a significant improvement in recall (Asymp. Sig. = 0.018), while the control group showed no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test (Asymp. Sig. = 0.182). These results indicate that the use of color has a positive effect on short-term memory ability. This study contributes to the understanding of how color can be used to improve memory, with practical implications in the design of more effective learning materials and learning spaces.

Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological condition where a person feels worried, afraid, tired, nervous which is caused by several factors, including personality type, genetics, and events that trigger the stress. Self-awareness is the ability to accept and understand several things that make a person an individual, including personality, behavior, values, beliefs, emotions and thoughts. This research wants to prove the influence that occurs between self-awareness and anxie specifically for students in university. This research uses quantitati regression research. Using academic anxiety scale by Praba Raras (2021) and for the Self-Awareness variable, using a scale from Oparekhe Hilapok (2017). Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires online and obtained as many as 150 respondents as samples. From the research it is found that Self-Awareness has a negative influence where the anxiety found students was lower when their self-awareness was higher. This findi is in line with previous research such as Akhnaf (2022) and research by Babanejad et al., (2015).

Abstract

This research examines the effect of humorous shows on the short-term memory of new students at the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo (UMGo) class of 2024. Using a two-group experimental design, subjects were asked to remember short stories after being given humorous shows (experimental group) or without humorous shows (control group). The t-test results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups (p=0.530), which indicated that humorous displays did not significantly influence short-term memory. Environmental factors, short treatment duration, and confounding variables are thought to influence the results. Further research with better variable control and intensive treatment is recommended to obtain more valid findings.

Abstract

Iklim keselamatan merupakan kajian yang sedang berkembang. Namun kajian terkait skala iklim keselamatan kurang berkembanga.
