Abstract

The village of Kupuk, situated in the Bungkal District of the Ponorogo Regency in East Java, is extremely vulnerable to natural disasters such as forest fires and tornadoes. The level of public awareness and readiness for this disaster must still be enhanced. This area also has natural springs, often the location of drowning accidents. To address this issue, students from Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo participating in a community service program have created an educational video on disaster preparedness and first aid. Creating this video requires identifying disaster risks, collaborating with experts and relevant authorities, collecting in-depth information, conducting first aid simulations, professional video production, expert content validation, and distribution through social media and local community networks. This initiative's results indicate that disaster mitigation and community education play a crucial role in safeguarding communities from the threat of natural disasters. Collaboration between stakeholders and video technology has increased the community's awareness and preparedness for emergency situations. This video has the potential to serve as an illustrative model for other regions confronting comparable threats.

Abstract

Horticulture as it relates to the cultivation of garden vegetation. In a broader sense, the term pertains to the modern cultivation of garden plants. Horticultural products can be cultivated on a modest scale, such as in a household. By disseminating horticultural seeds, the researchers hope to reduce the market price of chilies or prevent inflation, particularly in Munggu Village, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency. The researcher conducted a direct survey in Munggu Village, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency, as part of the observational research method. Researchers' surveys revealed that the majority of Munggu Village residents were cultivators. As a result, the service's work program involves the distribution of horticultural seedlings in the form of chili plants and eggplant plants to every resident of Munggu Village. The current inflation is heavily influenced by rising food prices, which have a significant impact on rising food prices on the market. The distribution of horticultural seedlings, such as chili and eggplant, has the potential to reduce inflation. Low and consistent inflation is a precondition for sustained economic growth, which ultimately contributes to the improvement of people's standard of living. The significance of controlling inflation stems from the fact that high and unstable inflation is detrimental to society's socioeconomic conditions.

Abstract

The technical issue with current human resources is that they still require writing instruction. When Google has published and indexed the manuscript, another problem is incorrectly registering the title, author's name, journal name, pages, and other identification information. Modern technology influences the methods and applications of each open journal system (OJS). Understanding how to submit a manuscript to OJS from the outset is important. The service seeks to improve Google Scholar's indexing of scientific journal submissions to OJS by enhancing their comprehension. The method for implementing the service comprises three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the activity results, it is evident that participants are enthusiastic and motivated to participate in the training because the knowledge garnered from this training will assist them in completing assignments to publish journals, works, final reports, dissertations, and PKM.

Abstract

The issue of detection services for children with special needs in Indonesia still merits attention, as it necessitates intensive treatment to enhance parents' ability to identify their children with growth and development issues. Regarding this topic, parents need a wealth of knowledge and skills. Community Service in Depok assists families in identifying children with special needs. Participants in the brief course must understand the characteristics of children with special needs. The goals of community service activities are as follows: a) conducting training activities on the characteristics of ABK, and b) conducting child development screening activities for the "early detection" of child growth and development issues. a) Parental comprehension of children with special needs; and b) Stage I, coordination with Forkesi, the Depok ABK service agency, the Depok Health Service, and the Depok City Government. Then, all Depok city councils and municipalities were invited to participate in parent training activities with the special parent community. The second implementation phase entails training parents on the characteristics and ABK assessment programs. The subsequent activity in Phase III was observing ABK in the classroom and exercising child development screening with our Malaysian partner, Hospital Penawar. Stage IV involves conducting a FGD with parents, instructors, and the Depok Health Service in attendance. The next step will be collaborating to monitor the Depok Posyandu Movement's developments.

Abstract

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, educators were tasked with scouting out fresh approaches to teaching math. In addition, today's classrooms call for an emphasis on student-centered instruction that fosters the kinds of 21st-century talents that employers need. Abilities like critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication are not yet optimally implemented in the new normal or post-pandemic age. This is the case because students' study habits could not be optimized as they transitioned from online and only at-home study to full-fledged schoolwork. Even in a distance learning setting, however, it is expected that these skills will continue to be developed and refined. Teachers can implement methods like project-based learning to help pupils acquire these abilities. This volunteer project has as its overarching goal the enhancement of educator competence in the pursuit of creating novel and engaging curricula for the general populace in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic. It is envisaged that teachers at partner schools will benefit from this training and mentorship activity for project-based learning to better plan and execute such activities. Mentoring, observing, and role-playing are all components of this service. The teacher's high level of engagement in this activity is indicative of her dedication to professional development. Educators believe they grow professionally as a result of their work with project-based learning. Teachers have found success in developing project-based learning plans and implementing them in mentoring activities. After this event, similar events will be held every month, and mentorship will be provided to help teachers become more proficient in both project learning design and implementation
