Abstract

This study explores the impact of individual internet usage, foreign direct investment, and average years of schooling on economic growth in the ASEAN region during the period 2014-2020. The panel regression analysis method was employed to analyze secondary data obtained from the World Bank and UNDP. The results of the fixed-effects regression model indicate that the variables of individual internet usage (IUI) and foreign direct investment (FDI) have a positive and significant impact on economic growth, while the average years of schooling (MYS) do not have a significant impact. These findings are consistent with previous research findings indicating that internet usage and foreign direct investment significantly contribute to economic growth in the region. However, the average years of schooling do not have a significant influence on economic growth in this study's context. The study shows that internet usage and foreign direct investment have a significantly positive impact on economic growth in ASEAN, while the average years of schooling do not have a significant effect. These findings imply that economic development policies in ASEAN should focus on enhancing technology infrastructure and investment environments, as well as reevaluating the education system.

Abstract

The traditional economic growth hypothesis was created by experts known as the old economist analysts, pioneered by Adam Smith, Robert Malthus, David Richardo, and John Stuart Plant. Given the traditional hypothetical assumptions, economic development is influenced by several variables, including the number of workers seen from the population, the amount of capital, geographical area, and technological development. Economic growth displays how monetary applications increase income or payments for a local area from one period to another. The economic case in Indonesia is still happening now; looking at what aspects affect economic growth, this study examined the variables of Electricity Consumption, FDI, and Unemployment. This exploration uses time series data regression, quantitative methods, and secondary data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), and World Development Indicator data from 1990-2021. The data is examined using Eviews 12 software. The experimental results show that the variables of electricity consumption and FDI affect economic growth in Indonesia positively and significantly, while unemployment affects economic growth in Indonesia negatively and significantly for the period 1990-2021.

Abstract

Shafira is a leading Muslim fashion brand, renowned for its stylish products geared towards both teenagers and adults. This study explores the marketing communication strategy employed by Shafira Store Surakarta on Instagram. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with 10 participants, and content analysis of Shafira's Instagram posts over a six-month period. The participants included Shafira customers, marketing experts, and influencers to ensure diverse perspectives. The credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability of the data were rigorously tested to ensure validity. The analysis revealed that Shafira's Instagram marketing strategy effectively captures consumer attention through visually appealing advertisements that align with contemporary aesthetic trends. Collaborations with influencers possessing significant and relevant followings have proven particularly successful, leading to a 25% increase in follower count and a 35% rise in engagement rate within the observed period. Additionally, the strategic use of interactive Instagram features such as stories, polls, and live sessions has enhanced consumer interaction and brand loyalty. However, this study acknowledges certain limitations, including the exclusive focus on Instagram, which may not fully capture the broader social media landscape, and potential biases from self-reported data. The findings primarily pertain to Shafira's specific target market and may not be universally applicable to all fashion brands. Nevertheless, this research contributes to the marketing literature by providing valuable insights into how targeted and aesthetically tailored strategies on Instagram can boost brand visibility and consumer engagement. Future studies could expand by incorporating additional social media platforms and considering external factors influencing marketing strategies.

Abstract

In contemporary organizational settings, understanding the drivers of employee performance is crucial. This research explores the relationship between intrinsic motivation, effective communication strategies, and a supportive work environment on the performance of employees at PT. Cendrawan Nusantara. Employing a mixed-method approach, this study integrates qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, involving 77 employees over the period 2022-2023. Unlike previous studies, this research applies the Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory to motivation and uses Shannon and Weaver’s Model of Communication to examine communication strategies. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to provide a holistic view of these relationships. Results reveal that intrinsic motivation is a principal factor affecting performance, as it enhances employees' goal orientation and work satisfaction. Effective communication strategies, particularly those that promote transparency and feedback, significantly improve performance by fostering trust and collaboration. A positive organizational climate, characterized by inclusivity and recognition, also enhances performance. The findings underscore the importance of leadership commitment in cultivating an environment that promotes these factors. Data collection was achieved through structured interviews and online questionnaires, ensuring diverse and comprehensive feedback. This study contributes to organizational behavior literature by highlighting the synergy between motivation, communication, and climate in driving performance. Such insights can guide management practices in optimizing employee potential.

Abstract

This research investigates the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), flood risk management, political dynamics, and entrepreneurship in enhancing resilient city management in Jakarta from 2013 to 2023. Jakarta faces significant challenges due to rapid urbanization, climate change, and political instability, making it highly susceptible to flooding. Over the past decade, the frequency and intensity of floods have escalated, affecting over 1.5 million residents each year. Contributing factors include inadequate infrastructure, inconsistent public policies, and limited resources. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, incorporating a comprehensive literature review and analysis of 50 relevant case studies. This analysis reveals trends in AI adoption, the impact of political dynamics, and the role of entrepreneurship in flood management. Quantitative data establishes correlations between AI adoption rates and flood management effectiveness, while qualitative insights explore the influence of political factors and entrepreneurial innovations. Findings indicate that AI has improved flood prediction accuracy by up to 30%, enabling faster responses. Additionally, entrepreneurial initiatives, such as app-based flood monitoring and community infrastructure projects, play a crucial role in resilience. However, political instability often hinders the implementation of these solutions. Ultimately, the research emphasizes the need for collaboration among the government, private sector, and communities to strengthen disaster resilience, highlighting the synergy of technology, policy, and innovation in facing future challenges.

Abstract

This study examines digital innovation strategies in the transformation of sharia cooperative businesses, focusing on the impact of mobile app implementation on financial performance and member satisfaction. A case study was conducted on KSPPS BMT UGT Nusantara, a microfinance sharia institution that has adopted digital technology in its services. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes data from in-depth interviews, member surveys, and institutional financial reports from 2018-2023. Findings reveal that adopting mobile apps significantly increased the cooperative’s fee-based income by an average of 15% annually since implementation. Factors such as ease of use, transaction security, and incentive programs play vital roles in technology adoption among members. However, challenges such as digital gaps across member generations and the need for improved digital literacy were identified. Member satisfaction analysis shows a 20-point increase in Net Promoter Score (NPS), indicating a positive impact of digital innovation on member loyalty. The study also reveals that digital transformation has driven operational efficiency, with a 5% decrease in the operating cost to operating income ratio (OER) over the last two years. This research contributes theoretically and practically to understanding the role of digital innovation in sharia cooperative business transformation. The findings highlight the importance of comprehensive digital strategies focused on technology adoption, member digital capability development, and business model adjustment. Managerial implications include recommendations for sustained technology investment, digital education programs for members, and data-driven service development to enhance the value proposition of sharia cooperatives in the digital era.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of poverty and the Gender Inequality Index (GII) on Indonesia’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita across 34 provinces using secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for the years 2021–2023. Employing path analysis, the study examines both the direct and indirect effects of poverty and gender inequality on regional economic performance. The findings reveal that the poverty rate significantly negatively affects GRDP per capita, with a path coefficient of -0.305, indicating that higher poverty levels are associated with lower economic output per person. Furthermore, the GII significantly affects poverty (coefficient = 0.244), suggesting that increased gender inequality contributes to worsening poverty. Additionally, GII directly negatively affects GRDP per capita (coefficient = -0.269), implying that regions with greater gender disparities tend to have lower economic performance. The study also confirms an indirect effect, where gender inequality exacerbates poverty, depressing economic productivity and growth. These findings underscore the importance of integrating gender equality into economic development strategies. To achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth, policies must reduce gender-based barriers in education, employment, and healthcare, empowering women to contribute fully to economic development and poverty reduction.
