Abstract

This study was motivated by students' limited understanding and application of the hadith values concerning leadership responsibility in their daily lives. This condition highlights the need for an innovative learning approach that not only emphasizes conceptual understanding but also encourages the internalization of hadith values through authentic learning experiences. The study aims to develop hadith learning materials based on the living hadith approach through a living hadith project using the ADDIE instructional design model. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants were eleventh-grade students of MA Pondok Pesantren Darul Hikamah Darussalam Kapuas, an Islamic boarding school implementing a residential education system. Data were collected through classroom observations, cognitive tests, students' reflective journals, and documentation. The findings indicate that the living hadith project effectively enhances students' understanding of leadership responsibility as taught in the hadith and encourages them to practice responsibility, discipline, and social awareness in both the school and boarding school environments. Consequently, this learning model creates a more contextual, participatory, meaningful, and experience-based learning process that is relevant to students' everyday lives.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Quranic values of simple living and care for the less fortunate with the concepts of zero waste and the circular economy in Islamic character education. The research is motivated by increasing consumerism, excessive resource use, growing environmental problems, and declining social awareness, particularly among younger generations. Islam emphasizes moderation, responsible use of wealth, and concern for disadvantaged groups, as reflected in QS. Al-Furqān:67 and QS. Al-Isrā’:26–30. A qualitative library research approach was employed using the Quran, tafsir, hadith, and scholarly literature on character education, sustainability, zero waste, and the circular economy. Data were analyzed through interpretative analysis to identify the relevance of Quranic teachings to contemporary sustainability principles. The findings indicate that the Islamic principle of moderation aligns with zero waste practices by encouraging efficient resource use and minimizing waste. Likewise, the command to support the poor reflects the circular economy’s emphasis on resource redistribution, shared benefits, and social welfare. Integrating these values into Islamic character education can foster responsible consumption, effective waste management, generosity, and social empathy among students. This approach not only strengthens religious character but also develops environmentally conscious and socially responsible individuals capable of addressing modern sustainability challenges through the application of Islamic values in daily life.

Abstract

Islamic theology is a discipline that studies the fundamental beliefs of Islam. Islamic theology, also known as *Ilm al-Kalam*, emerged as a response to various theological, social, political, and intellectual issues that developed after the death of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This study aims to explain the key concepts in Islamic theology, describe the development of theological studies throughout Islamic history, identify the sources of belief in Islam, analyze the major schools of Islamic theology and their approaches, and recognize prominent figures and their monumental works in the field of Islamic theology. This study employed a library research method by examining various relevant literature on Islamic theology. The findings reveal that Islamic theology has developed dynamically through various historical phases, from the era of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the contemporary period. Islamic theological studies encompass fundamental concepts such as tawhid (monotheism), aqidah (creed), Ilm al-Kalam, and qada and qadar (divine decree and predestination). The primary sources of belief in Islam are the Qur'an and the Sunnah, supported by reason (aql) and scholarly consensus (ijma'). Differences in understanding these sources have given rise to various theological schools, such as Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah, Mu'tazilah, and Shi'ah, each possessing its own characteristics and approaches. Furthermore, the development of Islamic theology cannot be separated from the contributions of prominent scholars such as Abu Hasan al-Ash'ari, al-Maturidi, al-Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Muhammad Abduh. In conclusion, the study of Islamic theology plays an important role in strengthening faith, fostering tolerance, and providing a comprehensive understanding of various religious issues in the context of contemporary developments.

Abstract

This study examines the interplay between Madurese local wisdom and Islamic educational resilience against the backdrop of accelerating global cultural disruption. Drawing upon Bourdieu's theory of cultural capital and the concept of educational resilience, this research investigates how indigenous cultural values particularly the hierarchical socio-religious ethos encapsulated in the Madurese proverb Bhuppa'-Bhabbu'-Guru-Rato function as reservoirs of cultural capital that sustain pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and madrasah institutions in Madura, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-methods approach with 312 participants drawn from six pesantren and eight madrasah across the four regencies of Madura Island, the study triangulates quantitative survey data with in-depth interviews and documentary analysis. Findings reveal that Madurese local wisdom operationalizes three distinct dimensions of Bourdieusian cultural capital embodied dispositions toward religious authority, objectified cultural artifacts embedded in curriculum, and institutionalized credentials valorized by the community collectively generating a socio-cultural field that resists homogenizing pressures from digital globalization and consumerist culture. The study further demonstrates that kiai (Islamic scholars) leadership serves as a symbolic capital that reinforces the educational field's autonomy. These findings have significant implications for understanding how non-Western indigenous epistemologies contribute to the sustainability of Islamic education systems in postcolonial, rapidly modernizing societies.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive competition between educational institutions requires each school to implement effective marketing strategies to attract prospective new students. This study aims to analyze educational marketing strategies in attracting prospective new students at MI Al-Mursyidiyyah Pamulang, South Tangerang City. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Research informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique consisting of the principal, the chairman of the New Student Admissions Committee (PPDB), teachers, and parents of students. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that educational marketing strategies at MI Al-Mursyidiyyah are implemented through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage is carried out through coordination between the foundation, the principal, the PPDB committee, and teachers in preparing the marketing program. The implementation phase applies the marketing mix concept, encompassing product, price, place, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence, utilizing both direct and digital promotions, supported by the madrasah's flagship program. The evaluation phase is conducted periodically to assess the effectiveness of the marketing strategy, identify obstacles, and develop program improvements for the next period. The results of the study indicate that the implemented educational marketing strategy has been able to increase public trust and support the interest of prospective new students at MI Al-Mursyidiyyah Pamulang, South Tangerang City.
