Abstract

The quality of hospital services is an important factor that influences patient perception, satisfaction, and loyalty. This study aims to analyze the relationship between service quality and the interest of outpatients in revisiting the Integrated Service Unit at Adi Husada Kapasari Hospital. This quantitative cross-sectional study involved 68 respondents selected through purposive sampling from a population of 6,155 patients during the period March–June 2025. Service quality was measured using six dimensions: safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. The interest in revisiting was measured based on the willingness of patients to return to use the services. Data analysis was performed using Spearman's rho correlation test. The results showed that all dimensions of service quality were in the good category, with the highest scores in the safe, efficient, and equitable dimensions (94.1%) and the lowest in the effective dimension (83.8%). Patient interest in return visits was very high, with 98.5% of respondents expressing interest in returning for treatment. However, the correlation test showed no significant relationship between service quality and interest in return visits (r = –0.026; p = 0.832). These findings indicate that even though service quality is high, other factors beyond service quality, such as location, cost, promotion, and third-party recommendations, are likely to have a greater influence on patients' decisions to return. Further research is recommended to explore other variables that may influence patients' interest in revisiting.

Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder with a high prevalence that often leads to complications and reduced quality of life. Management of T2DM requires not only pharmacological therapy but also complementary non-pharmacological interventions such as Benson’s relaxation technique, which may lower blood glucose levels through physiological and psychological mechanisms. This case study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Benson’s relaxation in reducing blood glucose levels in an elderly patient with T2DM. The subject was a 70-year-old woman residing in Cokro Hamlet, Sukoanyar Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency. The intervention was conducted over three consecutive days, with each session lasting 20 minutes. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and measurement of random blood glucose (RBG) before and after each intervention. The results showed a gradual reduction in blood glucose levels, from 462 mg/dL (pre) to 440 mg/dL (post) on day one, 325 mg/dL to 301 mg/dL on day two, and 164 mg/dL to 146 mg/dL on day three. The patient also reported reduced fatigue, decreased tingling, improved sleep quality, and a greater sense of calm after undergoing the therapy. These findings indicate that Benson’s relaxation is a simple, safe, cost-effective, and feasible complementary intervention that can be practiced independently by patients and families at home, supporting holistic management of T2DM.

Abstract

Nutritional problems in pregnant women remain a major challenge in Indonesia. One of the most serious problems is anemia due to iron deficiency. According to the 2018 Riskesdas results, nearly half of pregnant women in Indonesia experience this condition. Anemia can cause various problems, such as premature birth, low birth weight, and even maternal death. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparative effectiveness of Iron Supplement Tablets (TTD) and Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) in increasing hemoglobin (Hb) levels in pregnant women. Research method This study was a quantitative observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The research design used a comparative approach, namely by comparing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women who consumed Iron Supplement Tablets (TTD) and those who consumed Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) in the first and third trimesters. The results showed that hemoglobin levels in pregnant women who consumed Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) were higher than those in the group who consumed Iron Supplement Tablets (TTD). This difference can be explained based on the nutritional content of each supplement. In conclusion, the administration of multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS) proved to be more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women than administering iron tablets (TTD) alone.

Abstract

Breastfeeding success in the early postpartum period is strongly influenced by mothers’ knowledge of correct breastfeeding techniques, yet education delivered in health facilities is often brief and may not provide sufficient reinforcement. Widely used messaging platforms such as WhatsApp offer an opportunity to deliver flexible, repeatable, and accessible breastfeeding education, particularly in urban settings like Makassar City. Objective: This study aimed to describe postpartum mothers’ knowledge of correct breastfeeding techniques after receiving WhatsApp-based education in Makassar City. Methodology: A quantitative descriptive design with a pretest–posttest format was employed. Forty postpartum mothers were recruited through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Educational materials (text, images, and videos) were delivered via WhatsApp, and knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire administered before and after the education. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing pretest and posttest mean scores across four domains: breastfeeding position, latch-on technique, signs of adequate breast milk intake, and management of common breastfeeding problems. Findings: Postpartum mothers’ knowledge increased markedly after the intervention. The mean score rose from 54.10 at pretest to 86.80 at posttest, and all knowledge domains showed consistent improvement. WhatsApp functioned effectively as an educational medium due to its accessibility, flexibility, and capacity to support repeated learning. Implications: WhatsApp-based education can be considered for integration into routine postpartum health services to strengthen breastfeeding literacy and complement facility-based counseling, especially in urban contexts. Originality: This study provides technique-domain–specific evidence on WhatsApp-delivered breastfeeding education among postpartum mothers in an urban Indonesian setting, offering a practical and scalable model for postpartum breastfeeding support.

Abstract

This single case study evaluated the effect of a 30° head-up position on headache and vital signs in a 16-year-old male with mild head injury presenting to the Emergency Department of RSUD Kanjuruhan, Kepanjen (21 June 2025). The non-pharmacological intervention head elevation at ~30° for ~30 minutes per session over one 8-hour shift was monitored pre- and post-session for blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and pain (Numeric Rating Scale). Serial improvements were observed: blood pressure decreased from 149/90 to 111/84 mmHg, heart rate from 113 to 89 beats/min, SpO₂ increased from 95% to 99%, temperature rose from 35.9 to 36.6 °C, respiratory rate remained stable (20→19/min), and pain declined stepwise (NRS 6→5→4) with subsequent patient report of no headache. Intracranial pressure and cerebral perfusion pressure were not directly measured; inferences about cerebral physiology are therefore indirect and based on hemodynamic and symptomatic trends. Within the constraints of a single-subject design, the 30° head-up position appeared feasible, safe, and clinically useful for symptom relief and physiologic stabilization in hemodynamically stable mild head injury, while warranting caution in patients at risk of reduced MAP/CPP or with cervical contraindications. Larger comparative studies are needed to confirm these effects.

Abstract

Male hypogonadism is a medical condition characterized by reduced testosterone production due to disorders of the testes or the hypothalamic–pituitary axis. This study employs a quantitative approach to systematically review the literature on the prevalence, risk factors, and physiological and psychological impacts of hypogonadism in men. Data were drawn from clinical and observational studies published over the past four years that analyzed associations among testosterone levels, age, body mass index, and symptoms such as erectile dysfunction and decreased libido. The review indicates that hypogonadism is more common in men over 40 years of age, particularly those with obesity or metabolic disease. Beyond sexual function, the condition also affects muscle mass, bone density, and emotional balance. In conclusion, early detection and appropriate testosterone replacement therapy play an important role in improving quality of life and preventing long-term complications in men with hypogonadism.

Abstract

This literature review synthesizes the relationship between school climate and students’ sense of belonging, encompassing definitions, dimensions, psychosocial mechanisms, mediators–moderators, and practical implications for Indonesian schools. Based on a review of English- and Indonesian-language articles from the past ±30 years, we found a consensus that school climate dimensions safety and order, the quality of teacher student and peer relationships, learning-oriented teaching practices (formative feedback, autonomy), and collaborative leadership are positively correlated with belonging. The most consistent pathways involve social support and perceived fairness/voice, which foster students’ affective attachment to school; in turn, this enhances academic engagement, achievement, and attendance while reducing risky behaviors (e.g., bullying and absenteeism). Common instruments such as the Psychological Sense of School Membership (PSSM; Goodenow) and various school climate surveys (Thapa; Wang & Degol) demonstrate strong reliability, though cross-cultural and grade-level validation in Indonesia remains limited. Practical implications recommend restorative anti-bullying programs, strengthening social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies, implementing autonomy-supportive pedagogy, and promoting student voice mechanisms aligned with the Kurikulum Merdeka and P5 initiatives. We propose a local research agenda emphasizing longitudinal or quasi-experimental studies, measurement invariance testing, and multilevel analyses.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing the quality of healthcare services in hospitals. This study aims to analyze the level of patient satisfaction with the quality of services at the West Lombok Regional General Hospital. Aspects analyzed include reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. This study used a cross-sectional design, with a population of 5,362 respondents, with a sample of 99 visiting respondents. The sampling method in this study was purposive sampling. This study was conducted from June 2 to June 10, 2022. Data collection and retrieval used a questionnaire. The results of statistical analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test and logistic regression showed a significant relationship (p-value <0.05) for the responsiveness variable (p-value 0.032) and tangible (p-value 0.000). The results of multivariate statistical tests showed that the dominant factor influencing patient satisfaction with services was tangible (p=0.000; OR=18.631). Hospitals are expected to improve the comfort of inpatient rooms by paying attention to lighting, cleanliness of rooms, bathrooms, and the completeness and availability of equipment.

Abstract

The purpose of this literature review is to identify Conflict Management factors on Team performance and conflict management solutions in the nursing workplace, and the variables that influence the success of conflict resolution. The results of the study indicate that conflict in the workplace is often caused by differences in interests, ineffective communication, and high work pressure. However, with the implementation of appropriate conflict management strategies, such as open communication, fair mediation, and strengthening a collaborative work culture, conflict can be transformed into an opportunity to improve team dynamics and innovation. Good conflict management also contributes to creating a more harmonious work environment, increasing job satisfaction, and strengthening employee loyalty to the organization.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the personality trait of conscientiousness on marital satisfaction in married adults. Marital satisfaction is a subjective feeling felt by a married couple regarding various aspects of married life such as happiness, communication, and commitment, while conscientiousness describes the characteristics of individuals who are diligent, disciplined, responsible, and goal-oriented. This study used a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression method. The sample was obtained through a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of respondents being at least 21 years old, having been married for at least one year, and still having a spouse. The instruments used were the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale  and Big Five Personality Inventory. The results of the analysis showed a significant influence between conscientiousness and marital satisfaction with a significance value of p = 0.010 (p < 0.05) and an R² value of 0.067, which means that conscientiousness provides an effective contribution of 6.7% to marital satisfaction, while 93.3% is influenced by other factors outside the study. These findings indicate that individuals with high levels of conscientiousness tend to have more satisfying marital relationships because they are able to manage conflict, maintain commitment, and create emotional stability in the relationship. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for developing psychological interventions and marital counseling to improve the quality of marital relationships.
