The implementation of self-management in stroke patients is influenced by factors within the individual, one of which is the belief to control their health which is called the term health locus of control. Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between health locus of control and self-management in stroke patients. Method: Type of research Descriptive Correlation with cross-sectional study design. The sample size of 45 people was selected by purposive sampling. The tool used to collect data is a questionnaire, analysis using the Spearman Rank test. Result: The results of the study of health locus of control were mostly 20 respondents (44.4%), self-management was mostly 22 respondents (48.9%). The results of the Spearman Rank test showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a relationship between health locus of control and self-management in stroke patients. The correlation coefficient value of 0.955 indicates a strong positive correlation. Conclusion: A high health locus of control leads patients to believe that they have control over their own health, making them responsible for their health and compliant with recommendations for stroke management. In conclusion, health locus of control is significantly related to self-management in stroke patients.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk (ASI) is the best source of nutrition for infants, especially during the first six months of life. Breast milk production is strongly influenced by prolactin, which stimulates milk synthesis, and oxytocin, which plays a role in the let-down reflex. Stress, fatigue, and lack of stimulation may inhibit oxytocin secretion, thereby reducing milk flow. Methods: This study employed a literature review approach by searching articles through PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Results: The literature review findings show that oxytocin massage has been proven effective in increasing both the production and flow of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers. Conclusion: Although oxytocin massage has been found to be effective in enhancing breast milk production and flow among breastfeeding mothers, further studies with randomized controlled trial designs and larger sample sizes are still needed to strengthen the scientific evidence regarding its effectiveness in supporting lactation.
