Abstract

This study examines the legalization of commercial sex work as a form of employment from legal, ethical, and moral perspectives in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to analyze the existing legal framework governing sex work, assess the social, legal, and moral implications of legalization, and formulate an ideal legal policy aligned with the nation’s humanitarian and moral principles. This research employs a normative juridical approach through literature studies on statutory regulations, legal doctrines, and ethical as well as moral considerations. The findings indicate that current regulations have not effectively protected sex workers, while society continues to emphasize moral and ethical values. The legalization of sex work can be justified under the principles of human rights protection, strict social supervision, and economic empowerment. The ideal legal policy formulation should emphasize a humanistic, participatory, and moderate regulatory framework, ensuring that sex work practices are governed without neglecting national ethics and morality.

Abstract

This study assesses the impact of technology integration in human resource management HRM on public sector performance in Kaduna State, using New Public Management (NPM) theory as its theoretical framework. Primary and secondary data were collected from staff of five selected MDAs, with a Sample size of 260 drawn from a population of 770 using purposive sampling. Data were gathered through questionnaire and interviews, and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS. The data source ensured the generation of comprehensive and reliable information. The questionnaires were administered using a 5-point Likert scale. Interviews with some relevant stakeholders provided deeper insights, complementing the quantitative data.  Data from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics via SPSS. The findings reveal that the integration of technology in human resource management has a significant positive impact on public sector performance in Kaduna State. The study concludes that technology-driven human resource management practices enhance public sector effectiveness and recommends expanding digital human resource applications, particularly in performance appraisal and performance-linked incentives, to motivate further and improve outcomes.

Abstract

The increasing participation of women in terrorist activities has reshaped contemporary violent extremism and altered the operational dynamics of extremist networks. This study aims to examine the nature, patterns, and implications of the feminisation of terrorism, with particular attention to its legal, security, and developmental consequences. The study employs a qualitative research design, based on a content analysis of secondary data, including international security reports, terrorism incident databases, and peer-reviewed scholarly literature on female involvement in groups such as Boko Haram and al-Qaeda affiliates. The analysis identifies a growing diversification of women’s roles within terrorist organisations, including recruitment, logistics, intelligence gathering, and operational participation, which enhances the tactical flexibility of these groups and complicates traditional counter-terrorism responses. These dynamics undermine national security, weaken social cohesion, and threaten progress toward sustainable development, particularly in conflict-affected societies. The study concludes that existing counter-terrorism and legal frameworks are insufficiently responsive to the gendered dimensions of violent extremism and recommends the adoption of integrated, gender-sensitive legal, policy, and crisis-management strategies to improve prevention, accountability, and long-term developmental outcomes.

Abstract

The states of Africa face many developmental challenges despite their huge resource endowments. The work gives a swift overview of the resources and the associated developmental challenges; queries dependence on foreign Aid; and makes recommendations for sustainable development. It is nonempirical - It relies on theories, methods, personal observations, and contemporary events. The continent is home to many resource-dense natural habitats. The natural resource economy contributes significantly to the built environment, but the continent faces challenges in protecting and using its resources. The resources are also vulnerable to environmental risks, and there is exploitation of the local workers and other human rights concerns. States still depend on foreign Aid. African States should be reluctant to accept foreign aid assistance. However, if there are any needs, there must be reform. There should be massive technological transfer and an emphasis on STEM education to sustainably explore, exploit, develop, and market the resources. With visionary leadership, profitably growing resources, and reforming Aid, foreign Aid will stimulate growth and development and achieve the 2063 agenda. Further research is required into the dependence on foreign Aid in Africa.
