Abstract

Business ethics in Islam extends beyond economic principles to encompass moral and spiritual aspects. Principles such as honesty, fairness, and social responsibility are essential foundations for Sharia-compliant trading activities. The purpose of this study is to describe the understanding and implementation of business ethics from an Islamic perspective among traditional market traders in Bondowoso City. A qualitative case study approach was used to gather information from business actors through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document collection. The results indicate that most traders understand and respect Islamic principles in business. However, in practice, deviations persist due to economic pressures, business competition, and a lack of guidance from authorities. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference in designing policies and training programs on Islamic business ethics to encourage the development of fair, ethical, and sustainable traditional markets.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the form of exploitation of women and the impact of exploitation on the existence of women in the novel Re: Karya Maman Suherman. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique in this study was reading the entire contents of the novel RE: karya Maman Suherman. The data analysis technique for this study was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study found two aspects, the first form of exploitation which is divided into three forms of exploitation of women in the theory of Marxist feminism contained in the novel Re: Karya Maman Suherman, namely, the form of exploitation (1) commodification of women's bodies, (2) forms of economic limitations and limited choices, (3) power relations. Women are treated as commodities for economic gain, with their bodies used as valuable assets for the benefit of pimps and customers. Economic dependence and limited life choices increasingly imprison women in unfair conditions, where they only receive a small portion of the results of their work, while large profits are enjoyed by those who control them. Unequal power relations reinforce this system of exploitation, where physical violence, such as beatings and threats, are used to maintain dominance and prevent women from escaping the trap of the system.

Abstract

Background: Older adults are at high risk of falls due to age-related decline in physical, sensory, and cognitive functions. Falls significantly impair quality of life and increase morbidity among nursing home residents. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the risk factors for falls in the elderly based on clinical and cognitive assessments using a multidimensional approach. Methods: A descriptive observational study with a qualitative approach was conducted on two elderly residents of Panti Werdha X, Cibubur, East Jakarta. Total sampling was applied. Assessments included in-depth interviews, physical examination, and the use of MMSE, Clock Drawing Test (CDT), and Ontario Modified Stratify–Sydney Score. Results: The first subject (Oma T, 78 years) had a low MMSE score (21) and a low fall risk score (OMS: 1), but demonstrated a strong psychological fear of falling. The second subject (Opa D, 77 years) exhibited signs of Parkinsonism, vascular complications, and a history of recurrent falls, with a high OMS score (19). CDT indicated impaired executive function. Conclusion: Fall risk in the elderly is influenced by a combination of intrinsic factors, mild to moderate cognitive impairment, and psychological components such as fear of falling. Multidisciplinary preventive interventions—including routine evaluations, environmental modifications, education, and physical exercises—are essential to reduce fall risk and enhance the quality of life in institutionalized elderly populations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in developing the skills and creativity of students at SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung in Islamic Religious Education. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages with 32 students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and project assessment, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using percentage calculations. The results showed an increase in students' skills and creativity in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average skills and creativity of students were still low, at 39.4%. After implementing PjBL in cycle I, there was an increase to 63.3%, although there were still weaknesses in the aspect of creativity. In cycle II, the results increased significantly to an average of 84.4%, which means that almost all students were active, creative, able to work together, and had a high interest in participating in PAI learning. Thus, the application of Project Based Learning proved to be effective in improving students' skills and creativity and can be used as an alternative learning model that is fun, meaningful, and relevant to the demands of 21st-century education

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ participation and activeness in Islamic Religious Education and Character (PAI&BP) learning through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model at SMPN 3 2x11 Kayu Tanam. Problem Based Learning was chosen because this model emphasizes active student involvement in solving real-world problems, encourages group collaboration, and trains critical thinking skills. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 23 seventh-grade students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and project assessments, then analyzed descriptively using qualitative methods with percentage calculations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PBL can improve the quality of the learning process. In the first cycle, student participation was still low, shown by a lack of confidence in asking questions, answering, and expressing opinions, as well as uneven group discussions. Learning outcomes were also limited, with only 52.2% of students meeting the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). Based on the reflection of cycle I, improvements were made in cycle II, including clearer role assignments within groups, the use of guiding questions, and providing motivation and rewards for active students. These improvements had a positive impact, as evidenced by increased overall student engagement, a more conducive classroom atmosphere, and improved learning outcomes, with 87.0% of students achieving KKM. Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in increasing students’ participation, activeness, collaboration, and learning outcomes in PAI-BP learning. PBL can also serve as an innovative alternative learning model that is relevant for creating more interactive, meaningful, and student-centered learning.
