Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

Digital marketing and financial recording play an important role in improving MSMEs. Many MSMEs have good quality products and services, but their businesses are not profitable. This is due to the lack of application of digital marketing and still doing traditional financial records in their business. One of the MSMEs that we observed, namely the Yen Yen Canteen, had this problem. Therefore, our group conducted a service by helping to create social media and teaching application-based financial recording. After we did this service, the Yen Yen Canteen had social media and its content and made financial records through the application.

Abstract

The socialization sessions, characterized by a structured mix of material presentations (30%) and interactive discussions (70%), served as an educational platform for primary school students to understand the importance of maintaining a clean and health-conscious lifestyle. Subsequent field activities engaged participants in collaborative problem-solving efforts, primarily realized through synchronized cleaning initiatives in the school environment and the introduction of technologically advanced automated trash cans. In addition, the project incorporated technological innovation by introducing automated trash cans, which were strategically designed to capture the interest of the students and provide essential knowledge on proper waste disposal practices. The findings underscore the efficacy of a nuanced approach that combines educational efforts, practical efforts, and technological interventions in shaping sustainable behavior among the younger generation, thereby positively impacting the broader community environment.

Abstract

Improving the quality of learning requires learning media that functions as a means of supporting successful learning so that it is able to compete in the era of globalization. One thing that can be used as a learning medium in junior high schools is Canva, which is an online design program that provides various learning media such as presentations, resumes, posters, pamphlets, brochures, graphics, infographics, banners, bookmarks, bulletins, and so on. The aim of this training activity is to increase the knowledge and abilities of junior high school teachers in Bekasi City in creating learning media using the Canva application. The methods used are theory, practice and discussion. After attending this training, teachers have more skills in using and creating learning media using the Canva application so they can convey mathematics material to students more easily and can help prepare reports, create teaching materials or other things faster and more creatively. So that students are more active in learning and can improve the quality of the learning process and learning outcomes of junior high school students, especially in Bekasi City.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide understanding to the community in an effort to increase tax awareness. The target of this service is residents at the Balikpapan City Vegetable Garden Inpres Market. The solution that can be done is to be able to provide socialization to be able to understand what taxes are, especially in terms of submitting tax returns. This is done so that people in the Balikpapan City Vegetable Garden Inpres Market area become one of the taxpayers who obey their taxes. The result of this service is the socialization of materials that are in accordance with the problems of the community in the area, including Understanding of NPWP, Obligation to submit SPT, Submission of SPT online, Procedures for filling out SPT for WP OP, and Proof of SPT submission in the form of BPE. In addition to socialization, the distribution of flyers is also well realized.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is an important concept to apply in everyday life. PHBS aims to maintain and improve individual health and prevent the spread of disease. Elementary School (SD) is the initial stage of education where children begin the learning process and develop social skills. The use of gadgets, such as smartphones, tablets and computers, has become an inseparable part of modern life. Gadgets offer access to various applications, games and multimedia content that are interesting for children, replacing healthy physical activities and important social interactions. The method used in this community service is the lecture method in the form of providing education and discussions about Health Promotion Influences Patterns Clean and Healthy Living (PHBS) and the Impact of Using Gadgets on Elementary School Children. Target Elementary School Students Grades 5 and 6 at SD 104294 Pematang Sentrak Village. Time and Place This activity will be held on April 13 2023 at SD 104294 Pematang Sentrak Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Implementation of Activities The form of activity carried out is by providing outreach to elementary school students about PHBS and the impact of using gadgets on elementary school children which will have a long-term positive impact on their health and welfare.

Abstract

Sasaran pelatihan dalam kegiatan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini adalah guru-guru SMA/MA dan SMK di Kota Bengkalis. Guru-guru SMA/MA dan SMK di Kota Bengkalis masih kesulitan dalam menulis artikel ilmiah dan mencari jurnal-jurnal yang akan dirujuk sebagai referensi berdasarkan hasil wawancara. Tujuan kegatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah bagi guru-guru, khususnya guru sekolah menengah atas baik SMA/MA dan SMK di Kota Bengkalis. Metode penerapan dengan 3 (tiga) tahapan yaitu: (1) persiapan, (2) pelaksanaan dan (3) pelaporan. Hail kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa dari lima pernyataan yang diajukan semua peserta memberikan respon sangat puas 85,88 %, dan puas 14,12 %. Selain itu peserta menyarankan beberapa hal antara lain : (1) waktu pelaksanaan pelatihan lebih lama, (2) pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah dilakukan secara berkesinambungan, (3) terbentuknya forum karya ilmiah bagi gur; serta (4) pelibatan akan jumlah guru dari mata pelajaran dan satuan pendidikan lainnya perlu ditambahkan. Dengan demikian maka perlu untuk dilakukan kembali kegiatan pelatihan penulisan artikel ini di tahun depan dengan durasi yang lebih lama.

Abstract

This community service investigates the impact of Wattpad, a social media platform, on students' interest, creativity and digital literacy within the framework of the digital literacy movement. Results show that Wattpad positively influences students' engagement in reading and writing, offering a space for aspiring writers to showcase their ideas and fostering constructive communication between writers and readers. Wattpad's digital literacy potential is clear in its aspirations as a digital service provider, helping students access diverse literary content and resources. This study emphasizes the need for careful management of content to conform to moral and literacy standards. Wattpad has tremendous promise as a digital literacy tool, especially in educational settings. Integrating Wattpad into formal education curricula can offer deep literacy experiences, foster creativity, critical thinking, and meet the needs of the ever-evolving modern digital world. In conclusion, this research underscores the importance of digital literacy in the current era and positions Wattpad as a valuable tool for developing literacy skills, creativity, and fostering a love for reading and writing among students.

Abstract

The implementation of training programs aimed at students, instructors and the school community while at the Islamic boarding school is the main subject of this research. The program efficiently promotes healthy lifestyle choices such as quitting smoking, washing hands with soap, eating healthy snacks, exercising regularly, eliminating mosquito larvae, and disposing of trash properly. Through a variety of techniques, including discussion, debate, practical exercises, and assessments, the program effectively disseminates knowledge and ensures that it is put to use. Santriwan are considered agents of change who promote good behavior and advance public health. In summary, this study highlights the effectiveness of training programs in improving scabies prevention and highlights their potential to serve as a model for broader public health campaigns. More than just spreading knowledge, the project's primary goal is to promote behavior change by giving Santriwan the tools they need to make healthy lifestyle choices, have a positive impact on their environment, and improve the overall health of the community.

Abstract

This community activity attempts to enhance student discipline at the primary school level through a holistic strategy that engages kids, teachers, parents and the surrounding community. Starting with a successful opening seminar which introduced the concept of discipline as the main foundation in forming student character, this program continued with an interactive workshop which provided in-depth understanding and special training for teachers in integrating discipline habits into everyday learning. Involving parents and community people through discussion forums, this program enables successful collaboration between the school environment and the local community. Program evaluations reveal better understanding and good changes in student conduct. The closing seminar as the final event of the program provides an opportunity to present concrete outcomes, successful experiences and future visions. This community activity not only meets the goal of enhancing student discipline, but also fosters a communal commitment to maintain the culture of discipline that has been successfully developed. The outcomes not only have an influence at the school level, but also provide a successful model that may be replicated by other educational institutions in an effort to improve student discipline and the overall quality of basic education

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which children experience failure in growth (body and brain) as a result of prolonged and prolonged malnutrition. Caused by low nutritional intake such as vitamins, minerals and animal protein sources. In accordance with the national target in the National Strategy (Stranas) for Accelerating Stunting Reduction, the Riau Islands Province is targeting a reduction in stunting prevalence of 14% in 2024. Therefore, the aim of this community service is to prevent and reduce stunting rates in Batam City. This community service involves several partners, including the Botania Community Health Center, Awal Bros Hospital, Batam City Health Service, BKKBN, and the role of Awal Bos University students. The method used in this activity is to provide education about stunting, carry out pre-tests and post-tests, apart from that, there is also a demonstration on cooking a healthy menu. The results after providing education about stunting to parents of babies and toddlers at Posyandu Sehati, there was an increase in knowledge by 17%.
