Abstract

As a form of mass communication, film functions not only as entertainment but also as a representation of social realities that shape public perspectives. This study analyzes the representation of family communication in the Saiyo Sakato serial using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic approach. The research focuses on how meanings of family communication are constructed through visual signs, dialogue, and interactions within Minangkabau culture, which is matrilineal yet influenced by patriarchal values. A qualitative method was applied by examining all episodes of the serial based on the categories of icons, indexes, and symbols. The findings reveal that Saiyo Sakato portrays family communication as a process shaped by cultural values, emotional closeness, social hierarchy, and power dynamics within the family. These results highlight the role of media in shaping meanings related to family relationships in specific cultural contexts.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance teachers' capacity to develop innovative teaching materials aligned with the principles and requirements of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMAN 1 Tinambung. The activity was carried out for three months, from April to June 2024, involving 29 teachers as participants. The implementation methods consisted of interactive training, teaching material development workshops, intensive mentoring, and continuous evaluation. Evaluation results from questionnaires indicated that: (1) the presented materials were deemed highly relevant to the needs of Merdeka Curriculum implementation; (2) the activity significantly improved participants' understanding and skills in creating innovative teaching materials; and (3) the interactive training methods and intensive mentoring model were highly appreciated by all participants. This program successfully empowered teachers to develop contextual and creative teaching materials, which is expected to encourage an improvement in the quality of learning at the school.

Abstract

This article discusses educational supervision through a comprehensive analysis of the principles of supervision derived from the Qur'an and Hadith. The study was conducted using a library research method that aims to describe the concept of educational supervision, analyze the Qur'anic basis of supervision through the concept of al-riqābah, and examine the principles of supervision taught in the Prophet's hadith which emphasize accountability and the quality of devotion in carrying out the mandate. The results of the study indicate that the Qur'an emphasizes divine supervision, the recording of angels, and self-awareness as the moral foundations in supervisory activities, while the Prophet's hadith emphasizes that every individual bears the mandate of leadership that must be accounted for and encourages optimal implementation of tasks through the value of ihsan. The integration of these two sources of Islamic teachings produces a framework for educational supervision that balances academic, spiritual, and ethical aspects so that it can be used as a guideline in developing a holistic supervision program in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to assess targeting accuracy in the Food Subsidy Program by analyzing the household data determination and verification process using a qualitative descriptive approach. Targeting accuracy is a crucial issue due to high levels of inclusion and exclusion errors, where non-poor households often receive assistance, while truly poor households are overlooked. The study found that the main problems stem from the quality of outdated social data, a lack of collaboration between agencies, and weaknesses in the inflexible management of the social registry. Furthermore, targeting methods such as the proxy means test (PMT) and community-based targeting also experience technical and social issues that affect the objectivity of the verification process. Field implementation is influenced by officer policies, limited resources, community pressure, and community dynamics, which often create bias in assessing household poverty status. The study findings suggest that improving data collection systems, strengthening social registry integration, increasing transparency in verification, and developing the capacity of field officers are essential steps to reduce targeting errors. Thus, this study provides comprehensive insight into the factors influencing the accuracy of food subsidy recipient determination and provides a basis for future policy improvements.

Abstract

Competition in the digital market requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to consistently produce attractive, persuasive, and high-quality marketing content . MSMEs at the village and regional levels, such as community service partners in West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Medan (North Sumatra) , face major obstacles in the form of limited human resources and copywriting and design skills, which results in stagnant sales quantities. This community service research aims to address these gaps through Socialization and Hands-on Training on the Utilization of Generative Artificial Intelligence Technology (Meta AI) . The training program focuses on the practical application of Meta AI for brainstorming content ideas, drafting effective promotional narratives, and optimizing customer chatbot strategies . The implementation method involves (1) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to map the specific needs of MSMEs in each location, (2) Intensive training for 10 days, and (3) Mentoring and practical evaluation for two months. Post-training evaluation results showed a dramatic increase in the variety and quality of digital marketing content produced, supported by an 18% increase in average sales volume for MSMEs actively implementing the AI ​​tools . This success confirms that easily accessible AI adoption is a crucial strategy for increasing the competitiveness of regional MSMEs and accelerating digital economic inclusion.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the use of flashcards in English learning at SDN 1 Gili Indah. Flashcards, as a visual medium, are considered to help students understand and remember vocabulary more effectively through an engaging combination of images and words. The research approach used a qualitative descriptive method, involving fifth and sixth grade students as respondents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed that most students had positive perceptions of the use of flashcards. Students felt more motivated, easily understood vocabulary, and were more active in participating in the learning process. Furthermore, the use of flashcards was also proven to create a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. These findings indicate that flashcards are an effective learning medium for improving English vocabulary mastery in elementary school students, particularly at SDN 1 Gili Indah. This study recommends that teachers continue to utilize visual media such as flashcards to improve the quality and outcomes of student learning.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) aims to strengthen the sense of care and respect in Aisyiyah Jatinom Elementary School students through the educational intervention of the "4 Anti" Exhibition (Anti-Sexual Violence, Anti-Bullying, Anti-Intolerance, and Anti-Corruption). The main problems identified are students' lack of understanding of complex social issues and the limited thematic learning media that raise these critical social values. In addition, there are teacher concerns in raising sensitive topics. The solutions offered include: (1) Teacher Workshops to increase capacity in "4 Anti" character education, (2) Student Mentoring through mini projects and thematic discussions, and (3) "4 Anti" Educational Exhibition as a place for character expression and campaign. The implementation method of this PkM uses a seminar approach, exhibition, and assistance in filling out understanding tests. The implementation stages consist of: (1) Preparation, (2) Seminar (providing knowledge about 4 Anti based on Canva), (3) Exhibition (students create and present 4 Anti campaign posters), (4) Assistance in filling out questionnaires, and (5) Evaluation. The evaluation will measure success based on the results of a student comprehension test on the "4 Antis" material. The targeted outcome is an article published in an accredited national journal. This Community Service Program (PKM) activity is expected to enrich students' character values ​​from a social and humanitarian perspective and strengthen the brand of a superior, friendly and critical school.

Abstract

Organizational culture is understood as a set of attitudes and behaviors that foster comfort and facilitate positive relationships and interactions. A positive organizational culture is believed to enhance work motivation and job satisfaction, whereas a negative culture may lead to decreased motivation. This study aims to assess the extent to which organizational culture is implemented and to examine its influence on teacher performance at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. The research employed a quantitative method, with a population and sample size of 82 respondents. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis techniques included normality and linearity tests, while hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test and simple linear regression. Based on the results of the Pearson correlation analysis using a one-tailed test, the correlation coefficient was r = 0.724 with a significance value of sig = 0.000 (sig < 0.01). This indicates a strong and significant relationship between organizational culture and teacher performance. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.525, suggesting that organizational culture contributes 52.5% to the performance of teachers at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung, while the remaining 47.5% is influenced by other factors. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) is accepted. This confirms that organizational culture has a positive influence on teacher performance at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the relationship between the quality of academic and administrative services and student trust in the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program in the Educational Administration Study Program at the University of Jambi. The flexibility of MBKM presents new challenges in the governance of higher education services, particularly in the aspects of communication, academic mentoring, and administration. Therefore, it is important to examine student perceptions and their influence on participation and learning experiences. The study used a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and institutional document review. Then, they were validated through triangulation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results showed positive student perceptions of academic services, especially communicative and responsive lecturer mentoring, while administrative services were still hampered by bureaucracy and document delays. Student trust is formed through transparency, commitment, consistency, and institutional concern, which synergistically with service quality directly influence student participation and active involvement in MBKM. The study concluded that the success of MBKM is determined by the quality of institutional services and student trust, making trust-based services key to the effectiveness of its implementation in higher education.
