Abstract

The design and implementation of a death data processing application at the Indralaya Village Office, Ogan Ilir Regency, aims to increase efficiency in managing death data. The manual data management process that is still often carried out today has the potential to cause various problems, such as data loss, input errors, and slow data search processes. This application was designed using Visual Basic .NET (VB.Net) as the main development platform, which was chosen for its ease of use and ability to create reliable desktop-based applications. The main functions of the application include inputting death data, archiving, searching for data, and creating reports. The system development method follows the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) model with stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation and testing. The database used is Microsoft Access to store death data in a structured and secure manner. The results of implementing this application show that the data management process has become faster, more accurate and organized. Apart from that, this application makes it easier for sub-district employees to compile regular death data reports. Thus, it is hoped that this application can be an effective solution in supporting administrative management at the Indralaya Village Office

Abstract

This quasi-experimental classroom action research examined the effectiveness of creative art activities in enhancing attention among early childhood learners in Thailand's southern border provinces. The sample consisted of five kindergarten (K3) students from Ban Yaring School in Pattani Province, selected via purposive sampling based on preliminary attention assessments. Over a period of three months, participants engaged in 12 creative art sessions specifically designed to be developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant to the local Muslim context. Quantitative findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in children's attention levels (p < .05). Qualitative observations and interviews further indicated that children could concentrate on tasks for longer durations, exhibited better self-control, and parents reported a noticeable reduction in unnecessary screen time at home—demonstrating concrete positive changes in daily behavior. The study suggests that contextually relevant, age-appropriate creative art activities can serve as an effective tool for fostering attention development in young children, particularly within multicultural settings characterized by ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversity.

Abstract

This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the application of the VIKOR method in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) within the context of Decision Support Systems (DSS). VIKOR is widely acknowledged as a powerful tool for generating compromise solutions when dealing with alternatives that involve conflicting criteria. The primary objectives of this review are to identify the key benefits of applying the VIKOR method, to analyze the common challenges encountered during its implementation in various domains, and to explore how the method has been modified or integrated with other decision-making approaches to improve its effectiveness. The literature was gathered through Google Scholar, applying strict inclusion criteria that focused on peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024. Out of an initial pool of 50 articles, 10 high-quality and relevant studies were selected for detailed analysis. The results indicate that VIKOR offers substantial advantages in handling complex and non-commensurable criteria, making it well-suited for DSS applications. However, challenges such as dependency on accurate criteria weighting, computational complexity, and difficulty in interpreting compromise conditions persist. Notably, the integration of VIKOR with methods such as AHP, FUCOM, ELECTRE, and ROC has been shown to enhance decision quality and robustness. These findings contribute to the development of more adaptive, transparent, and data-driven DSS models for future implementation..

Abstract

This study aims to improve history learning outcomes through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model for seventh grade students at Cokroaminoto Rappokalling Junior High School. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through essay test, participation observation, interest questionnaire, and interview. Cycle I results showed 50% student participation and an average test score of 65. After improvements in cycle II (more specific questions, help cards, role play), participation increased to 75% and the average score reached 76. The conclusion of the research proves that NHT is effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes, participation, and student motivation. This study recommends the use of NHT with scaffolding and strict time management for interactive history learning.

Abstract

Science education in junior high schools plays an important role in shaping students’ critical and systematic thinking. However, abstract topics such as food chains often pose challenges for students and require appropriate learning media. This study aims to examine the use of the Food Chain application as an interactive learning tool to improve students’ understanding and motivation in learning food chain concepts. The research employed a qualitative method through literature review, focusing on interactive media and contextual learning in science education. Results indicate that the Food Chain application enables students to visualize trophic levels, understand ecological relationships, and engage actively in the learning process. The application supports critical thinking and problem-solving skills by offering simulation-based exploration. Moreover, it enhances students’ motivation by presenting dynamic, visual, and interactive content. The integration of this technology also allows teachers to monitor student progress in real-time and adjust learning strategies accordingly. Therefore, the Food Chain application is a promising innovation in science learning that aligns with 21st-century education demands and the goals of sustainable development.

Abstract

This article discusses the relevance of implementing John Dewey's progressive education, particularly the concept of Intelligent Action, in the context of modern education. Progressive education emphasizes learning based on real-life experiences, active student participation, and the development of critical thinking skills and social responsibility. This study employs a qualitative literature review method by analyzing six relevant scholarly articles. The results show that Dewey's progressive education principles strongly support the development of a flexible curriculum, project-based learning, and adaptive approaches to the demands of a changing era. The concept of Intelligent Action helps shape students to be reflective, creative, and capable of making intelligent decisions in facing the complexities of the modern world. Therefore, the application of Dewey’s progressive education principles must be continuously developed to create an innovative and strong-character generation in the era of globalization

Abstract

The development of information technology provides great opportunities for the world of education, especially in supporting Guidance and Counselling (BK) services. This study aims to examine the role of the Guidance and Counselling website in handling student disciplinary violations at the high school/vocational school level with a psychological approach. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation in several high schools/vocational schools that have implemented a website-based BK system. The results of the study indicate that the use of the BK website can increase the effectiveness of communication between BK teachers, students, and parents, as well as facilitate data collection and monitoring of violation cases. In addition, the psychological approach applied through features such as self-assessment, online counselling, and digital education has a positive impact on students' understanding of the consequences of their behaviour. Thus, the BK website not only functions as an administrative tool, but also as a preventive and rehabilitative media in handling student disciplinary violations. This study recommends the development of a more interactive and integrated digital BK system to support sustainable student character building

Abstract

ABSTRACT Conflict resolution is an important aspect of making change and developing students' positive behaviour in the school environment. Therefore, the objective of this research is to understand teachers' perspectives on conflict resolution strategies and teachers' ways of solving problems in the school environment. This scientific study was conducted with a qualitative approach by interviewing respondents such as 1 coordinator, 2 teachers and 2 students. The researcher used thematic analysis to organize the themes that appear frequently in the data. The research results showed that teachers face challenges in the conflict resolution process because teachers use traditional experience to resolve conflict in the school environment. Teachers do not communicate effectively, do not create a positive culture for conflict resolution, do not use problem-solving techniques well. From this result, it is necessary to promote integral and professional training for teachers on effective and efficient conflict resolution strategies. Conflict resolution strategy is a conflict resolution model that involves steps such as open communication and empathy, effective mediation, negotiation and collaboration, using problem-solving techniques, a restorative justice approach, and monitoring results. The implementation of this resolution strategy stage promotes interpersonal relationships between teachers and students in the school environment. The implementation of conflict resolution strategies in the school environment can promote students' positive behaviourist.
