Abstract

This service activity aims to improve the skills of high school (SMA) teachers in the field of video editing, especially for video editing applications using mobile devices or smartphones. VN video editor is a video editing application specifically designed for mobile devices or smartphones. This application is very suitable for high school teachers who want to do video editing anywhere and anytime via the smartphone they use. Currently, the use of learning media via video is very widely used and implemented in almost all schools and even universities. This is used as a community service activity in the form of training provided to high school teachers. The aim of this service is to train teachers in Purwokerto who do not have a scientific background in information technology and are required to carry out teaching and learning activities using audio-visual methods. As a result of the evaluation of this training activity, teachers have been able to make learning videos using the VN video editor tool to support their students so that learning activities become more enjoyable and less monotonous.

Abstract

In today's digital era, digital literacy is a fundamental skill that every individual must possess. The community service program to enhance Access and Capabilities in Digital Literacy in the Information Era aims to reduce the digital divide by improving digital literacy access and skills among the community, especially in underdeveloped areas. Through a series of training and workshops that include basic introductions to information technology, digital security, and assessing the credibility of online information, the program has successfully enhanced the digital literacy skills of its participants. Program evaluations indicate significant improvements in technology use and understanding of information security. Despite challenges such as infrastructure limitations and varied initial abilities among participants, flexible curriculum adaptations and teaching methods have helped overcome these barriers. This program not only provides direct benefits to participants but also has the potential to expand economic and educational opportunities and prepare the community for more active participation in social and cultural life in the digital age.

Abstract

In order to enhance reading literacy among elementary school children in orphanages, this Community Service Program (PKM) is designed to implement and evaluate various interactive learning strategies. The program aims to identify the most effective approaches to improving reading skills while also increasing the motivation and confidence of the children in reading. This PKM involves 50 children from two different orphanages, where each implements different strategies, including joint reading sessions, group discussions, and the use of varied and engaging reading materials. The methodology used includes both qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Quantitative data were obtained through pre-tests and post-tests to measure improvements in reading literacy scores, while qualitative data were collected through interviews with caregivers and feedback from the children. The results show a significant improvement in the children's reading literacy scores, from an average of 60 at the start of the program to 82 after its implementation. Additionally, positive feedback was received from both children and caregivers, indicating an increase in interest and confidence in reading. Several challenges were identified during implementation, including the need for greater access to a variety of reading materials and the need for sustainability strategies for the program. This Community Service Program provides evidence that interactive and supportive learning strategies can significantly improve the reading literacy abilities of children in orphanages. The implications of this study are important for the development of educational programs aimed at enhancing literacy in underprivileged environments.

Abstract

Digital literacy has become one of the essential skills that includes the ability to use technological devices, access information, and understand and use that information effectively. Digital literacy includes various competencies known as computer literacy, information literacy and media literacy. Information facilities in rural areas are usually easily obtained by meetings or gatherings of a number of local residents, for example, coffee shops have long been known as the social center of many communities including in Klambir Village. The coffee shop, named Warkop Bang si X, is often used as a space to discuss, exchange information, and build social networks. The problems faced by partners in Klambir Village, Hamparan Perak District, there is still a gap in digital literacy, especially among people with a less supportive age background, their curiosity is reduced, so that the ability to access, understand, and utilize digital information is ruled out which can actually be a prerequisite for effective participation in various aspects of life, from education to the economy. The solution to the partner's problem is that the service team conducts counseling by utilizing coffee shops as an increase in residents' interest in using digital literacy. This PKM uses socialization and training methods using digital devices (gadgets). This method aims to provide knowledge.

Abstract

This research aims as follows: to determine the effect of peer conformity on the intensity of bullying. This type of research is a quantitative research approach. The subjects of this research were 20 students in class IV and V of SD Negeri 105372 Batang Terap, consisting of 13 class IV students and 7 class V students. The research used correlational research because it looked for the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable. This research was conducted to determine the level of relationship between two or more variables, without making changes, additions or manipulation to existing data. The research results show that peer conformity can influence bullying behavior with an F result of 0.154 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), and has a regression coefficient of 0.075. This can be interpreted as meaning that the higher the peer conformity, the higher the bullying behavior, and vice versa, the lower the peer conformity, the lower the bullying behavior. Based on the data presented, there is an effective contribution of the peer conformity variable to bullying behavior of 50%. This was carried out to determine the level of relationship between two or more variables, without making changes, additions or manipulations to existing data. The research results show that peer conformity can influence bullying behavior.

Abstract

The Corel Draw application as a learning medium aims to support students' creative spirit. The use of CorelDRAW is able to support student creativity by acting as a means for expressing creative ideas, as well as arousing curiosity so that students' creativity continues to develop while carrying out independent learning activities. Good for management students who use the CorelDRAW application as advertising design media (advertising promotion design). The Corel Draw application can be used as an indispensable medium for every student, both independently and for college assignments. The method used is a literature study by reviewing 11 journals and 2 theses that are most relevant to the research topic. CorelDRAW was chosen because it has tools for creating vector objects, drawing illustrations, manipulating bitmap images, giving effects, and creating and creating text. With these capabilities, CorelDRAW is considered a suitable medium for students to use to support creativity in their independent learning activities. The research results show that the use of CorelDRAW can increase student creativity. This is proven by the benefits students get after mastering the CorelDRAW application

Abstract

The current and future job market requires a workforce skilled in data science, including analytical techniques such as clustering. With the development of Industry 4.0, skills in data analysis are becoming increasingly important, and education must adapt to meet this need. Increasing data literacy among vocational school students is very important to prepare them to face a world increasingly dominated by data. Analytical skills help students in solving complex problems and making data-driven decisions. Skills in data science encourage innovation and creativity in various fields. Involvement of students so they can use tools and skills to analyze and understand the world around them through data. Clustering is a technique in data science and statistics that is used to group objects or data points that have similar characteristics into groups or clusters. Objective: To equip students with the skills to analyze and interpret data effectively using clustering techniques and provide a strong foundation for students who are interested in continuing their studies in the field of data science or information technology.

Abstract

Technology serves as a tool and support for the learning process. Following interviews at the Tali Bangs Foundation children's home, it was revealed that they had not utilized the internet, particularly blog spot, as a digital platform for sharing information. This service initiative aims to offer training to enhance the skills of high school-aged orphanage children engaged in trading activities to promote their products, information, and services through the internet. Blog spot stands out as the most user-friendly and cost-effective web medium. The training will encompass various crucial aspects of blog creation, such as selecting a theme, configuring the layout, crafting engaging content, incorporating images and multimedia, and linking with social media. Participants will be guided through practical steps to develop an appealing and functional blog. Additionally, the training will delve into marketing strategies through blogs, including search engine optimization (SEO) and the proper utilization of keywords. Participants will grasp how to leverage blog spot's potential to enhance visibility and expand their audience reach. By the end of the training, participants are expected to have a solid grasp of blog creation using Blog spot and be capable of applying the acquired knowledge and skills in the realm of digital information. As a result of this program, the trainees have established a sturdy foundation to kickstart the development of personal, business, and other types of blogs utilizing the Blog spot platform as their primary tool.

Abstract

Microsoft Excel training at SMKS Al-Muhajirin arosbaya focuses on the importance of hard skills in the world of education and work, especially in the digital era and evolving technology. Mastery of microsoft excel is a skill that is needed in various sectors, especially in the field of administration and finance. Based on the results of the pre-test conducted on students of Class X TKJ SMKS Al-Muhajirin their Microsoft Excel skills are still very lacking, with the majority of students are in the category of" less "and"very less". Microsoft Excel training was conducted by quasi-experimental method involving 13 students of Class X TKJ SMKS Al-Muhajirin who took the pre-test and post-test. The training uses game-based learning method to improve student interaction and learning interest. Facilities used include a computer laboratory equipped with LCD, projector, and computers that have Excel installed. Based on the pre-test the majority of students were in the categories of "less" and "very less," showing very limited Excel skills. After the training, post-test results showed improvement, with 46% of students achieving "good" and "very good," as well as none of the students being in the "very less" category."The Excel skills taught during training are not only useful in the world of work, but also in everyday life, such as managing academic data, creating tables of values, to managing personal budgets. In conclusion, Microsoft Excel training at SMKS Al-Muhajirin arosbaya successfully improved students ' skills, equipping them with practical skills for industrial needs in the digital era.

Abstract

The background to this community service activity stems from the importance of soft skills in facing the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world of work. In the context of vocational education such as at Al Muhajirin Vocational School, apart from technical skills (hard skills) taught through the formal curriculum, soft skills such as creativity, communication and teamwork are important assets to support students' readiness to enter the world of work. The focus of this community service is to provide training on using the Canva application to Al Muhajirin Vocational School students, which is designed to improve creativity, visual communication skills and collaboration skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with a participatory action research research design. This research was conducted with the aim of understanding how the use of the Canva application can improve the soft skills of Al Muhajirin Vocational School students. The importance of developing innovative and creative soft skills to increase student motivation and help achieve learning goals as well as building interaction and knowledge in creating interesting learning media. This training exists to meet the need to utilize technology as an innovative and interesting learning medium. One application that is easy to use is Canva. The Canva application is a learning medium that can be used remotely, so it can be said to be a creative, innovative and collaborative learning medium, so it can be said to be very helpful in the teaching and learning process.
