Islamic boarding schools are believed to be an alternative solution to current educational problems. One of the management changes is the emergence of the development of boarding school traditions that combine Islamic education—synonymous with classical books—with general education, professional systems and methods, and skill provision for students. Thus, boarding schools, which were originally focused solely on Salaf education, are now seeing the emergence of Islamic boarding schools that incorporate general subject materials and science skills. Additionally, Islamic boarding schools are also striving to provide educational institutions that meet the needs of students, equipped with managerial techniques appropriate to changing demands. This study focuses on the scientific tradition of Islamic boarding schools. Pondok pesantren diyakini sebagai alternatif solusi bagi permasalahan pendidikan saat ini. Salah satu perubahan manajemen yang terjadi adalah munculnya pengembangan tradisi pesantren yang menggabungkan pendidikan Islam—yang identik dengan kitab-kitab klasik—dengan pendidikan umum, sistem dan metode profesional, serta pembekalan keterampilan bagi santri. Dengan demikian, pesantren yang awalnya hanya berfokus pada pendidikan salaf, kini mulai bermunculan pesantren yang memasukkan materi-materi pelajaran umum dan keterampilan sains. Selain itu, pesantren juga berupaya menyediakan lembaga pendidikan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan santri, dilengkapi dengan teknik manajerial yang sesuai dengan tuntutan perubahan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tradisi keilmuan pondok pesantren.

In the context of Muslims’ life, the teaching of Islamic religion should be the basis of the education system. Islamic boarding school (pesantren) is one form of those Islamic education systems. However, it will be unwise if we depend only on one system, so that we need an integrative system as the Islamic boarding school’s responsibility to society. The Islamic Education curriculum design at Syarifudin Islamic boarding school is designed to fulfill the needs of society while still maintaining the Islamic boarding school characters. The curriculum at the Islamic boarding school is integrated and classified into two types, namely formal education curriculum and Islamic boarding school curriculum or intra and extra-curricular. Moreover, the main content of the curriculum for formal education applies the Integrated Education System between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Islamic basic school (Madrasah Diniyah) uses a classic curriculum of the yellow book (kitab kuning) with Indonesian as the teaching instruction. Dalam konteks kehidupan muslim, pengajaran agama Islam seharusnya menjadi dasar sistem pendidikan. Pesantren adalah salah satu bentuk sistem pendidikan Islam tersebut. Namun, tidak bijaksana jika kita hanya bergantung pada satu sistem, sehingga diperlukan sistem integratif sebagai tanggung jawab pesantren terhadap masyarakat. Desain kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam di Pesantren Syarifudin dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat sambil tetap mempertahankan karakter pesantren. Kurikulum di pesantren terintegrasi dan diklasifikasikan menjadi dua jenis, yaitu kurikulum pendidikan formal dan kurikulum pesantren atau intra dan ekstrakurikuler. Selain itu, muatan utama kurikulum untuk pendidikan formal menerapkan Sistem Pendidikan Terpadu antara Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Agama Indonesia. Sementara itu, madrasah diniyah (sekolah dasar Islam) menggunakan kurikulum klasik kitab kuning dengan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pengantar.

From its early establishment, Islamic boarding schools were built to preserve and maintain medieval Islamic values as a guide for the religious behavior of their followers. Generally, Islamic boarding schools teach honesty, sincerity, and willingness. These values are the soul of all activities in Islamic boarding schools, including at Ashri Islamic Boarding School, Talangsari Jember. This boarding school, known as the Talangsari Female Islamic Boarding School, always emphasizes and prioritizes devotion and sincerity. All workers in the economic sector are required to purify their intentions and dedicate themselves to the boarding school. Devotion is synonymous with working selflessly, without calculating the benefits to be gained. Sejak awal berdirinya, pesantren dibangun untuk merawat dan melestarikan nilai-nilai keislaman abad pertengahan sebagai pedoman perilaku keberagamaan umat. Secara umum, pesantren mengajarkan kejujuran, ketulusan, dan kerelaan. Nilai-nilai tersebut menjadi jiwa dari seluruh aktivitas pesantren, termasuk di Pesantren Ashri Talangsari Jember. Pesantren yang dikenal sebagai Pesantren Putri Talangsari ini selalu menekankan dan mengutamakan pengabdian dan ketulusan. Seluruh karyawan di sektor ekonomi diwajibkan untuk memurnikan niat, berkorban demi pesantren. Pengabdian identik dengan bekerja tanpa pamrih, tidak menghitung keuntungan yang akan diperoleh.

A feminist is a person or group of people focused on a social movement that fights against gender injustice in all aspects of life. Feminists also exist among religious individuals, including in Islam, where in this context, they are called Islamic student feminists. In the Tapal Kuda region, there are many feminists, both male and female, among Islamic students. This research takes five feminists as its subjects. These Islamic student feminists come from the administrators and teachers of pesantren. The issues addressed in their perspectives include polygamy, female leadership, domestic violence, and migrant labor. Feminis adalah seseorang atau sekelompok orang yang fokus pada gerakan sosial untuk melawan ketidakadilan gender dalam segala aspek kehidupan. Feminis juga hadir di kalangan religius, termasuk Islam, yang dalam konteks ini disebut feminis santri. Di daerah Tapal Kuda, terdapat banyak feminis, baik laki-laki maupun perempuan, di kalangan santri. Penelitian ini mengambil lima feminis sebagai subjek. Feminis santri tersebut berasal dari kalangan pengurus dan pengajar pesantren. Isu-isu yang dibahas dalam perspektif mereka meliputi poligami, kepemimpinan perempuan, kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, dan buruh migran.

Qualified human resources are needed to develop a company. Human resource management focuses more on the arrangement of human resources, namely the company owner, manager, and employees to achieve organizational goals. This research analyzes the importance of human resources in running and achieving organizational goals, located at SMK Nurul Anwar, an educational institution under the authority of the Nurul Anwar Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Sempolan Jember. Sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas diperlukan untuk mengembangkan suatu perusahaan. Manajemen sumber daya manusia lebih memfokuskan pada pengaturan peran sumber daya manusia, yaitu pemilik perusahaan, manajer, dan karyawan untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis betapa pentingnya sumber daya manusia dalam menjalankan dan mencapai tujuan organisasi, yang berlokasi di SMK Nurul Anwar, sebuah institusi pendidikan di bawah naungan Yayasan Pondok Pesantren Nurul Anwar, Sempolan Jember.

The development of Facebook members in the last five years has been truly phenomenal, with a growth rate of 118% each month. Facebook needed only about five months to reach 150 million members from 170 countries worldwide, using at least 35 languages. The researcher is interested in examining the patterns and responses of Islamic boarding school students, managers, and kiai in accessing and using Facebook sites. This interest is based on the assumption that they have different patterns and attitudes in accessing Facebook sites. The research problem is how the students and managers' patterns and responses in using Facebook sites as a communication medium. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method and collects data through interviews. Perkembangan anggota Facebook dalam lima tahun terakhir sangat fenomenal, mencapai peningkatan sebesar 118% setiap bulan. Facebook hanya membutuhkan waktu sekitar lima bulan untuk mencapai 150 juta anggota dari 170 negara di dunia, dengan menggunakan minimal 35 bahasa. Peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti pola dan respons santri, pengelola, dan kiai dalam mengakses serta menggunakan situs Facebook. Ketertarikan ini didasarkan pada asumsi bahwa mereka memiliki pola dan sikap yang berbeda dalam mengakses situs Facebook. Masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pola dan respons santri serta pengelola dalam menggunakan situs Facebook sebagai media komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara.

Various types of games in the teaching and learning process, especially in enriching English vocabulary related to reading texts, are the focus of this research. The author selected games suitable for the students' level and filtered six types of games to be applied in the classroom. Due to the students' lack of vocabulary related to derivatives, idioms, synonyms, and antonyms in reading texts, the researcher developed a learning strategy through vocabulary-based games using engaging, enjoyable, and challenging reading texts to enhance the vocabulary of second-year students at MA Al Qodiri Jember. The research design employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with cyclical stages including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, as well as quantitative data analysis. Berbagai jenis permainan dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas, khususnya dalam memperkaya kosakata bahasa Inggris yang berkaitan dengan teks bacaan, menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Penulis memilih jenis-jenis permainan yang sesuai dengan tingkatan siswa dan menyaring enam jenis permainan untuk diterapkan di kelas. Karena kurangnya kosakata siswa yang berkaitan dengan derivatif, idiom, sinonim, dan antonim pada teks bacaan, peneliti mengembangkan strategi belajar melalui permainan berbasis kosakata melalui teks bacaan yang menarik, menyenangkan, dan menantang untuk meningkatkan kosakata siswa di kelas dua MA Al Qodiri Jember. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan tahapan siklus yang meliputi perencanaan, implementasi, observasi, dan refleksi, serta analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif.

Before addressing civil disputes in court, the first step a judge should take is to attempt mediation between the conflicting parties. Divorce cases in the Jember region are notably high. To make mediation more effective, the Jember Religious Court can involve community figures, especially those from Islamic boarding schools. The role of a kiai (Islamic boarding school leader) extends beyond being an educator; they also serve as a confidant for the community during conflicts, including family issues. This research aims to explore the efforts of judges at the Jember Religious Court to reduce divorce rates through court mediation by involving Islamic boarding school leaders. Sebelum menyelesaikan masalah perdata di pengadilan, langkah pertama yang harus dilakukan hakim adalah mencoba memediasi kedua pihak yang bersengketa. Kasus perceraian di wilayah Jember tergolong tinggi. Untuk membuat mediasi lebih efektif, Pengadilan Agama Jember sebenarnya dapat melibatkan tokoh masyarakat, terutama dari kalangan pesantren. Peran seorang kiai pesantren tidak hanya sebagai pendidik, tetapi juga sebagai tempat masyarakat mencurahkan perasaan saat terjadi konflik, termasuk masalah keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami upaya hakim Pengadilan Agama Jember dalam menekan angka perceraian melalui mediasi di pengadilan dengan melibatkan tokoh pesantren.

iqh is a significant part of ubudiyah application in Islam, as it regulates and develops all behaviors. Islamic boarding schools, as centers of Islamic education, also develop and socialize fiqh. Moreover, some Islamic boarding schools consider fiqh as the only true law. The research results on how Islamic boarding schools socialize fiqh to the public are conducted internally, through the socialization process in the school's teaching curriculum. The materials are derived from classical books using various contemporary methods, such as weton, sorogan, even bahsul masail, and through fiqh theater. Fiqh merupakan bagian penting dari penerapan ubudiyah dalam Islam, karena di dalam fiqh semua perilaku diatur dan dikembangkan. Pesantren sebagai pusat pengajaran pendidikan Islam turut mengembangkan dan mensosialisasikan fiqh. Bahkan, terdapat pesantren yang menganggap fiqh sebagai satu-satunya hukum yang benar. Hasil penelitian mengenai cara pesantren mensosialisasikan fiqh kepada masyarakat dilakukan dari dalam pesantren, yaitu melalui proses sosialisasi dalam kurikulum pengajaran pesantren. Materi diambil dari kitab-kitab klasik dengan berbagai metode kontemporer, seperti weton, sorogan, bahkan bahsul masail, serta melalui teater fiqh.

This research focuses on improving students' reading comprehension using the PQ4R strategy. Theoretically, the PQ4R strategy can enhance students' ability to comprehend reading materials. Therefore, the researcher applied this strategy to students at Al-Bidayah Islamic Boarding School in Tegal Besar, Jember. The pre-test results showed that 58% of students scored ≥60 in identifying main ideas, 42% in locating specific information, and 50% in drawing conclusions. In the post-test, 83% of students scored ≥60 in identifying main ideas, 83% in locating specific information, and 58% in drawing conclusions. The study concludes that the PQ4R strategy can effectively improve students' reading comprehension. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tentang meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami bacaan dengan menggunakan strategi PQ4R. Secara teori, strategi PQ4R dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami bacaan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menerapkan strategi ini kepada siswa di Pondok Pesantren Al-Bidayah Tegal Besar Jember. Hasil penelitian dalam pre-test menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mendapat nilai ≥60 dalam soal menemukan ide pokok sebanyak 58%, dalam menemukan informasi khusus sebanyak 42%, dan menemukan kesimpulan sebanyak 50%. Sementara dalam post-test, siswa yang mendapat nilai ≥60 dalam soal menemukan ide pokok sebanyak 83%, dalam menemukan informasi khusus sebanyak 83%, dan menemukan kesimpulan sebanyak 58%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa strategi PQ4R dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami bacaan.
