Abstract

Early childhood represents a critical period for language acquisition and motivational development, where family support plays a pivotal role. This study investigates the relationship between family support and English learning motivation among early childhood students in Group B of Triamerta Singaraja Kindergarten, Indonesia. Using a cross-sectional analytical survey method, data were collected from 69 respondents through validated questionnaires. The Spearman Rank correlation test revealed a significant positive relationship between family support and learning motivation (r = 0.623, p < 0.05). The findings indicate that children with more excellent family support exhibit higher motivation levels, underlining the importance of parental involvement in fostering effective bilingual education. This research contributes to the growing literature on early childhood education by providing actionable insights into how family engagement can enhance language acquisition and learning outcomes. Future studies should explore intervention strategies tailored to diverse socio-cultural contexts to optimize early learning experiences.

Abstract

This study examines the parenting principles from Pamela Druckerman’s Bringing Up Bébé within the framework of Islamic education, with a focus on character building in early childhood. By employing a qualitative and descriptive-analytic approach, the research compares key parenting practices such as discipline, self-control, independence, and communication, highlighting their alignment with Islamic values. The findings demonstrate significant parallels between French parenting techniques and Islamic teachings, particularly in fostering discipline and respect. By integrating these principles into Indonesian parenting practices, the study offers actionable insights for addressing contemporary parenting challenges while preserving Islamic values. This research underscores the universality of effective parenting methods and recommends further exploration of their applicability across diverse cultural and religious contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of digital tools, particularly educational videos, in enhancing early childhood cognitive skills at Pertiwi Indralaya Kindergarten. Using a qualitative descriptive approach based on the Miles and Huberman framework, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation involving 20 children aged 4–5. Findings reveal that 55% of students exhibited "Very Well Developed" cognitive skills, while 45% were "Developing as Expected," with no children in lower categories. Key cognitive areas improved included problem-solving, memory retention, and logical reasoning, supported by a balanced integration of digital and traditional learning methods. Challenges such as maintaining focus and avoiding screen dependency underscore the need for structured guidance. The study concludes that combining digital and conventional strategies can foster cognitive development, highlighting the importance of teacher facilitation and responsible technology use in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Education (HIECE) policy implementation in Kulon Progo Regency, Indonesia. Guided by a descriptive quantitative design, the research involved 100 Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions formally trained in HIECE service delivery. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on five core service domains: educational services; nutrition, health, and care; childcare; protection; and welfare. Results indicate an overall moderate effectiveness, with welfare services scoring highest (3.25), followed by education (3.14), health and care (3.13), childcare (2.49), and protection (2.13). While most institutions demonstrated competence in educational and health-related services, significant weaknesses were found in parental engagement and welfare support, including access to civil documentation and health insurance. The findings highlight the critical role of cross-sector collaboration, community involvement, and institutional capacity in policy realization. This study contributes empirical insights to inform localized strategies for strengthening early childhood systems and advancing child well-being through integrative, inclusive, and context-sensitive approaches.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of parenting styles on the development of independence in early childhood. Focusing on five children in Group A of a kindergarten in Cirebon who demonstrated lower levels of independence, this qualitative case study involved participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Findings reveal that parenting significantly shapes children's independence, particularly in emotional regulation, responsibility, and confidence. Democratic parenting fostered the most positive outcomes, supporting both physical and psychological independence. In contrast, authoritarian parenting emphasized discipline but limited emotional development, while permissive and neglectful parenting often led to dependency and poor self-regulation. The study also highlights the influence of external caregivers, such as grandparents, whose indulgent behavior may undermine autonomy, even when democratic parenting is practiced at home. These findings underscore the need for consistent, responsive parenting and collaboration between home and school to foster independence in young children.
