Abstract

To keep up with technological developments, the National Police has issued a new system for enforcing traffic rules called ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement). ETLE is an information technology-based traffic law enforcement system that uses electronic devices in the form of cameras that can detect various types of traffic violations and provide motor vehicle data automatically (automatic number plate recognition). ETLE camera footage can be used as evidence in cases of traffic violations. The use of ETLE is also a form of Polri's contribution in realizing East Java Province as a smart city and is in line with bureaucratic reform. Another benefit is increasing the culture of public order in traffic, which is a deterrent effect of the ETLE system. The main problem that will be discussed in writing this thesis is How effective is the enforcement of traffic violations using the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system at the East Java Regional Police? What are the obstacles in implementing the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system against traffic violators at the East Java Regional Police? and What is the role of the East Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate in providing solutions in implementing traffic violation law enforcement with Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE)? This research uses a type of Empirical Legal Research, namely a legal research method that uses empirical facts taken from human behavior, both verbal behavior obtained from interviews and real behavior through direct observation. The East Java Police Traffic Directorate plays a role as an innovator in developing a law enforcement system for traffic violations using an information technology approach. ETLE can be said to be a method of prosecuting violations that has a positive impact on reducing the number of traffic violations.

Abstract

This study revolves around the study of discourse, specifically concerning the role of grammatical cohesive devices in spoken discourse namely speech. This study applied Halliday and Hasan’s theory of cohesion (1976). This study aims at identifying the types of grammatical cohesive devices used and analyzing the functions of each grammatical cohesive devices in the speech. The data of this study was taken from the Taylor Swift’s NYU 2022 commencement speech. The method applies in this study is descriptive quantitative method. In collecting the data, documentation method and note-taking technique were used. The grammatical cohesive devices based on Halliday and Hasan (1976) theory consist of reference, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunction. The method for presenting the data analysis in this study used informal method by using descriptive qualitative method and content analysis technique. The finding shows that almost all types of grammatical cohesive devices are found in Taylor Swift’s NYU 2022 commencement speech. The types are reference, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunction. Based on the analysis, the most dominant type appeared in the speech is reference and the less frequently appeared is substitution. The result also shows how each type of grammatical cohesive devices functions in the speech. The functions of grammatical cohesive devices are important to create cohesion, clarity, and to make the listener understand the implied meaning made by the speaker.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation and impact of the Labor Intensive program in reducing poverty in Semampir Sub-district. This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach to describe something and be able to explain it in detail, so it is hoped that qualitative research can answer the formulation of the problem. The results of the research obtained, that the Implementation of the Labor Intensive Program in Semampir District in 2024 the results are not fully maximized, this can be seen from the four aspects initiated by George Edward III, namely from the aspect of communication is good, the use of resources is maximum, the disposition aspect is maximum, but there are still shortcomings in the aspect of bureaucratic structure. The impact of the labor-intensive program in Semampir Sub-district is that this program has not succeeded in reducing poverty because the achievement percentage is still 14.69% of 100% with a dependency ratio condition of 46.83 in 2023.

Abstract

XYZ, is a company engaged in land transportation, distribution of building materials, production of mining materials, and trading of industrial goods. In the current era of globalization, it brings changes to all aspects of life. The development of information technology encourages people to use technology, one of which is the use of online attendance system technology implemented by PT. XYZ is the “Hadirr” application. This research discusses the implementation of the use of the presence application at PT. XYZ aims to find out how disciplined employees are in taking online attendance. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, research involving 5 informants through observation, interviews and documentation, this identifies factors such as lack of employee discipline, misuse of applications so that employee discipline that has been implemented by the company is less effective. Employee work discipline can be seen from employee compliance in complying with applicable regulations, including punctuality and responsibility for their work. To overcome this problem, companies can provide rewards as a form of appreciation for work, provide additional intensive work, and provide intensive supervision. Abstract

The study aims to analyze the use of negative politeness strategies by characters in Disney's “Frozen” movie using Brown and Levinson's (1987) politeness theory, focusing on how these strategies address the hearer's negative face. The data of the research were taken from Disney's "Frozen” movie script and analyzed with the theory proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987). Data were collected using the documentation method and note-taking technique. Additionally, to analyze the data, descriptive qualitative methods were used. The results discovered in this research are; be conventionally indirect 9 times, question and hedge 4 times, be pessimistic 5 times, minimize the imposition 12 times, give deference 13 times, apologize 8 times, impersonalize speaker and hearer 16 times, and go on record as incurring debt or not indebting 1 time. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how negative politeness works in the “Frozen” storyline and its implications for the interpersonal communication dynamics depicted in the movie.

Abstract

Domestic workers (DWs) or domestic assistants (ARTs) are a common occupation in Indonesia, with around 5 million people working as DWs by 2022. However, legal protection for domestic workers who are abused by their employers remains a complex issue. This study aims to identify the legal protections available for domestic workers who are victims of abuse in Indonesia. Although Law No. 13/2003 on Manpower recognizes domestic workers as workers, legal protection for them is limited as they are not considered workers in certain businesses. Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 2/2015 on the Protection of Domestic Workers is an attempt to provide protection, but still has weaknesses in covering aspects such as wage standards, working hours, and leave. In addition, the Criminal Code also provides protection against violence against domestic workers, but has limitations in terms of complaint offense. Legal protection for domestic workers who are victims of violence by their employers is hampered by the limited definition of employment relationship in the Manpower Law. Despite efforts through special regulations and criminal law, further efforts are needed to improve legal protection for domestic workers, including improving the definition of employment relationships, improving the implementation of ILO Conventions, and adjusting criminal law to more effectively address cases of violence against domestic workers.

Abstract

The success of development carried out by a country can be seen from the existence of its poor people. To improve community welfare, the Surabaya city government implemented a program provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely the Prosperous Family Card Program. The purpose of carrying out this research is to see whether the implementation of the Prosperous Family Card Program in Wonokusumo Subdistrict the poorest subdistrict in Surabaya has gone well by George Edwards III's theory which is based on empathy and uncertainty, namely bureaucratic structure, disposition, resources and communication. This research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological perspective with primary data sources and secondary data sources. The results of the research show that Wonokusumo Village has implemented the program optimally, where there has been good coordination between the parties involved and the tasks carried out are by applicable regulations. Likewise, Wonokusumo Village has carried out its function as a distributor of assistance for the Prosperous Family Card Program and as an organizer of socialization of the program so that it becomes better known to the public.

Abstract

Social media and professional networking platforms like LinkedIn have become crucial platforms for individuals to interact, share information, and build professional networks. Despite the significant benefits LinkedIn has provided to its users, there are still some limitations such as account restriction ambiguity, synchronization issues, and the emergence of spam and irrelevant content. Therefore, it is important to understand users' responses to the application. Previous research has shown that sentiment analysis can be an effective tool in understanding user reviews of applications. This study will continue previous research by analyzing the sentiment of user reviews of the LinkedIn application using the Logistic Regression method, taking into account the use of TF-IDF Feature Extraction and FastText Feature Expansion. Logistic Regression was chosen because it is effective in handling binary sentiment classification problems and has relatively high training speed. This method will be tested to address data imbalance and improve classification performance. This research demonstrates that this approach can provide optimal results in measuring accuracy, recall, precision, and F-Score. The research findings will provide valuable insights for LinkedIn application developers to enhance service quality. Based on the evaluation metrics, it can be observed that the first testing scheme with default parameters achieved an accuracy of 91.86%, a precision of 94.05%, a recall of 91.99%, and an F1-Score of 93.01%. The percentage values obtained already surpass 90%.

Sebagai bagian dari strategi perbaikan, langkah-langkah telah diambil untuk meningkatkan kemudahan bermobilitas, mengingat perpindahan dan jumlah penduduk yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dari kehidupan perkotaan. inovasi smart mobility adalah untuk menciptakan mobilisasi yang aman, nyaman, efisien, dan berkelanjutan, serta meningkatkan kualitas transparansi dan efisiensi terhadap tata kelola pemerintahan daerah setempat yang akan mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi kota, sehingga mendukung perekonomian di Indonesia. Fokus penelitian ini yaitu Implementasi Smart Mobility Bus Trans Semanggi Suroboyo Sebagai Bentuk Efisiensi Tata kelola Transportasi Publik dengan menggunakan teori implementasi Edward III yaitu komunikasi,sumberdaya,disposisi, dan struktur birokrasi. Sumber data metode penelitian kualitatif didasarkan pada data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer berasal dari kajian literatur melalui jurnal maupun artikel terkait topik.
