Abstract

The condition of district roads in Cirebon, which continues to deteriorate each year, has encouraged the Cirebon District Government to continuously strive to carry out road maintenance. However, limited funding has become an obstacle to meeting all maintenance needs. Therefore, this study is considered important to assist the Cirebon District Government in managing district roads, particularly in road maintenance activities, to ensure that both maintenance methods and costs are implemented effectively and efficiently. This study uses the Surface Distress Index (SDI) method. Data collection was carried out through direct surveys of road damage as primary data. Several factors were identified in assessing pavement damage, including surface condition, type and width of cracks, percentage of cracking, number and size of potholes, wheel path depressions, edge damage, and the condition of other road ancillary structures. The results of the study conclude that out of the total length of the Sindanglaut–Pabuaran road, which is 14.1 km, 8.1 km is in good condition and requires routine maintenance, 2.8 km is in fair condition and requires periodic maintenance, 1.3 km is in lightly damaged condition and requires rehabilitation, and 1.9 km is in severely damaged condition and requires reconstruction. A maintenance budget of IDR 14,830,250,000.00 is required to restore and maintain the road in good condition.

Abstract

This research explores the significant shifts in the landscape of international trade law prompted by the resurgence of protectionism and neo-mercantilism in the modern era. Following decades of economic liberalization—marked by the establishment of the WTO and reduction of tariff barriers—recent trends indicate growing state intervention through protective policies, tariffs, and non-tariff measures. These developments have intensified geopolitical tensions, undermined the effectiveness of the WTO, and led to the fragmentation of the global legal order. The formulation of the problem in this research are: (i) how does protectionism affect the stability of the international trade legal system? and (ii) what are the challenges and opportunities faced by Indonesia in the era of protectionism? Using a normative-legal approach, this study analyzes the impact of protectionism on the stability of international trade law while identifying opportunities for reform toward a more inclusive and adaptive legal framework. The article also maps Indonesia’s position amid this global dynamic, examining domestic policy responses such as the QRIS and GPN systems, and strategic opportunities in digital economy and regional agreements like RCEP. Findings reveal that protectionism is not merely an economic challenge, but a threat to the integrity of the rules-based trade system. A comprehensive legal response is needed, including institutional reform of the WTO, and harmonization of cross-border digital law. For Indonesia, these challenges also present an opportunity to strengthen a resilient, equitable, and sovereign legal system amidst global trade complexity.

Abstract

The Lake Toba boundary area has complex geological and geomorphological characteristics due to past volcanic activity. Along with the rapid development of infrastructure and settlements in this area, in-depth geotechnical studies are needed to support safe and sustainable planning. This study aims to evaluate the maximum shear modulus (Gₘₐₓ) of soil based on Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data with an empirical approach using the formula of Hardin & Black (1968). The study location is in Nainggolan, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra. Analysis was conducted on field data in the form of N-SPT values, soil unit weight, and calculations of effective stress and effective octahedral stress. The results show that the Gₘₐₓ value tends to increase with depth, with the highest value of 60,820.13 kN/m² at a depth of 14.45–16.45 meters, and the lowest value of 14,383.66 kN/m² at a layer of 4.45–6.45 meters, indicating a weak soil zone with high pore water content. Layers with high Gₘₐₓ values are recommended as the main supporting layer of the foundation, while layers with low values require reinforcement. This study proves that the empirical correlation approach based on SPT can be a practical and economical alternative in estimating soil dynamic parameters, and can be used to support civil engineering planning and geotechnical risk mitigation in the Lake Toba area.

Abstract

Distribution transformers are important components in electrical systems that are susceptible to disturbances such as overload and overheating. To overcome the limitations of manual monitoring, this study developed a prototype of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based transformer monitoring system that is able to read voltage, current, temperature, and humidity in real-time, and provide automatic notification if there is a parameter deviation. The system is built using an ESP32 microcontroller connected to the ZMPT101B sensor for voltage, ACS712 for current, and DHT22 for temperature and humidity. Tests were carried out on a 220V/24V AC single-phase transformer with gradual load variations and different environmental scenarios. The test results showed that the ZMPT101B sensor had an average error of 0.06% against a multimeter, while the ACS712 showed an average error of 1.18% against a clamp meter. The DHT22 sensor recorded a total error of 4.81% for temperature and 5% for humidity compared to the HTC-1 measuring instrument. The system successfully sends notifications via the Blynk platform when the temperature exceeds 60°C or the current exceeds 4 A. With a fairly high level of accuracy and real-time monitoring capabilities, this system is considered suitable for use as a monitoring and predictive maintenance solution for small to medium-scale distribution transformers.

Abstract

Indonesia's skincare industry is growing rapidly (4.6% per year), but is faced with intense competition and a high risk of brand switching. This research was conducted to answer the urgency of understanding the dynamics of customer loyalty in this context. The objectives of this study are to identify the determinants of loyalty, including the role of culture (such as halal certification), and develop a loyalty hierarchy model. This research used the method of semi-systematic literature review from three databases (Scopus, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar) resulting in 22 selected journal articles (2021-2025). The results showed that cultural factors (halal certification) are significant in religious areas (such as Central Java) but not in metropolitan areas such as Jabodetabek. Five predictors consistently shape skincare loyalty: brand image, perceived value, brand experience, customer satisfaction, and brand love. The main contribution of this research is the development of an integrative model based on Oliver's (1999) loyalty hierarchy. This model accommodates the five predictors from empirical research and adds the role of social media as a crucial marketing medium. As a result, this model offers a strategic roadmap for industry players to build sustainable loyalty as well as future research opportunities.
