Abstract

This study explores the concept of shirk from the perspective of Gus Bahauddin Nursalim, a contemporary Islamic scholar known for his contextual and accessible approach to religious teachings. The urgency of this study lies in the growing need for a nuanced understanding of shirk in the midst of complex modern religious practices and interpretations.  This article aims to examine the concept of shirk from the perspective of Gus Bahauddin Nursalim, focusing on the division of shirk jali and khafi, and to offer practical solutions for Muslims in avoiding shirk in their daily lives. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study draws upon secondary sources such as scholarly journals and audiovisual lectures to examine Gus Baha’s interpretation. It also uses secondary data obtained from previous researchers' research journals on Google Scholar and several YouTube videos. Gus Baha is one of the students of KH. Maimun Zubair, who now manages the LP3IA Islamic boarding school and is an activist in the Lajnah Mushaf Team at the Institute of Tafsir Al-Quran of the Islamic University of Indonesia, based on the results of the study, it was found that Gus Baha emphasized that arrogance, arrogance and lust in oneself are the sources of unconscious shirk. Shirk is a great sin that means uniting Allah SWT with other creatures. Gus Baha distinguishes two types of shirk: official shirk (jali) and unofficial shirk (khafi). Official shirk is carried out openly and deliberately, while unofficial shirk is carried out secretly and unconsciously. To avoid shirk, Gus Baha invited Muslims to Defeat Lust, Practice Surah Al-Fatihah, and Practice the Tawadhu Attitude.

Abstract

This research is motivated by gaps or challenges in applying the values and teachings of Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah (Aswaja) in the daily life of mahasantri in Mabna Ummu Salamah UIN Malang. This study aims to explore and analyze how mahasantri in Mabna Ummu Salamah Pusat Ma'had Al-Jamiah UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang actualize the teachings of Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah in their daily lives. This study uses a qualitative approach with participatory observation techniques and in-depth interviews with a number of mahasantri. The research findings reveal that the mahasantri in Mabna Ummu Salamah actively apply the teachings of Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah in their religious activities and daily lives. The form of actualization is applied whether through activities such as routine recitation, congregational prayer, dhikr, or also reflected in social ethics, leadership, or tolerance in the dormitory. They show sincerity in understanding and practicing the principles of this teaching, including adherence to the Quran and Sunnah, respect for scholars, and tolerance for differences of opinion. In addition, this study also identifies factors that influence the process of actualizing Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah teachings among mahasantri, including the educational environment, social influences, and the support of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era has significantly impacted education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). TikTok, as a popular social media platform among the younger generation, holds potential as an innovative learning medium. This study aims to analyze the utilization of TikTok in PAI learning using a literature review method. The findings indicate that TikTok can enhance students' interest and understanding of religious materials through concise, creative, and interactive content delivery. The platform also supports independent learning and fosters 21st-century skills such as critical thinking and collaboration. However, challenges include the need for digital literacy, video duration limitations, and the risk of exposure to inappropriate content. Therefore, strategies involving teacher training, ethical guideline development, and strengthening digital literacy are essential to ensure the effective and Islamic-aligned use of TikTok. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Qur'anic and Hadith education on the formation of Islamic culture in the historical trajectory. By using a qualitative approach and literature study, this study traces how the values of revelation were internalized through the educational process since the time of the Prophet Muhammad until the development of Islamic educational institutions such as madrasah and pesantren. The research approach used is qualitative with a library research method. This means that this research relies entirely on existing data and does not involve data collection in the field. The data collection technique is done through documentation, namely identifying, reviewing, and analyzing various relevant literatures. The main data sources include books of Qur'anic commentaries, Hadith commentaries, books on Islamic history, works on Islamic civilization, scientific journals, and research articles related to Islamic education, the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic culture. The data analysis technique applied is content analysis with a descriptive-interpretative approach. The collected data are classified, organized, and then interpreted to find patterns, themes, and causal relationships between Qur'anic and Hadith education and the characteristics of Islamic culture. Qur'anic and Hadith education not only creates religious understanding, but also shapes the culture of knowledge, social morality, and artistic expression that is unique to Islamic society. The culture of calligraphy, mosque architecture, and Islamic literature are tangible manifestations of the influence of Islamic education on the lives of the people. The results show that Islamic education plays an important role in building a civilization rooted in spiritual and intellectual values. In the modern era, these values remain relevant as a solution to global challenges, such as identity crisis and moral degradation. Thus, Qur'anic and Hadith education needs to be continuously revitalized so that Islamic culture can develop contextually and sustainably. Abstract

Religious-based radicalism and terrorism are complex global issues where religious interpretation plays an important role in shaping the mindset and actions of religious adherents. Although interpretation functions to understand Islamic teachings in a social, political, and cultural context, in some cases, it is used to justify violence. This study examines the relationship between religious interpretation and radicalism and offers a critique of interpretation methods that tend to support extreme ideologies. Through an analysis of verses from the Qur'an, such as QS. Al-Baqarah: 190-193, this study shows that erroneous understanding can lead to justification for violent acts, as in the case of terrorist groups. Maudhu'i's interpretation is proposed as a more contextual approach to prevent the misuse of the meaning of religious verses. The results of this study confirm that interpretation-based radicalism not only impacts individuals, but also threatens social stability and global security. Therefore, preventing radicalism requires a multidisciplinary approach that includes education, interfaith dialogue, and cooperation between the government, society, and international organizations. Deradicalization efforts and the dissemination of more inclusive religious interpretations are strategic steps in maintaining peace and reducing the spread of extreme ideologies.

Abstract

Moral values education is a very important religious foundation that must be instilled in children from an early age; in elementary schools, this moral education has been incorporated into Islamic religious education lessons. This is in line with the purpose of education, which is to develop students into individuals who are devoted to God Almighty and have noble character. Educators play an important role in shaping students' religious character during the teaching and learning process. One of the factors that enhance students' character growth is the presence of Akidah Akhlak education at school. Akidah Akhlak lessons are very important in strengthening one's identity as a Muslim who embodies the qualities of a believer. Therefore, this study seeks to explore the influence of teachers in developing students' religious character through learning Akidah akhlak. This research uses a field study technique using qualitative methodology. Data collection techniques used in this study include observation, interviews, and documentation. The location of this research is MI Al-Hikmah Pagar Alam City. The findings of this study indicate that 1) Educators not only act as teachers, but also as role models in attitude and behavior, 2) Religious principles are instilled through consistent and exemplary practices, 3) Akidah Akhlak education is taught contextually and in accordance with student life, 4) Despite the challenges of globalization and the lack of external assistance, the role of teachers remains crucial. By teaching Akidah Akhlak, subject teachers instill character values in students and create a positive influence.

Abstract

Globalization brings great challenges to the world of education, demanding the education system to adapt through innovation and digitalization. In the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0, mastery of technology and development of multi-talented intelligence are important so that Indonesia can compete globally. The purpose of this study is to find out how innovation and digitalization build multi-talented intelligence. The research method used is also based on literature studies with data collection techniques based on relevant written sources. Such as the use of E-learning which is one of the results of innovation and digitalization can build multi-talented intelligence, and it is hoped that further research can develop many innovations and digitalization that can build multi-talented intelligence.

Abstract

Abu Laits As-Samarqandi's thought offers intellectual wealth that is very relevant to be studied in the context of contemporary Islamic education. In the midst of various challenges and dynamics of Islamic education today, revisiting the ideas of classical figures such as As-Samarqandi becomes a necessity, not just a historical search. This research will answer two important questions of Abu Laits As-Samarqandi's thinking in the field of education about children's rights to parents and the status of the hadiths that are the basis of his thought which have been documented in the work of Tanbih Al-Ghafilin. According to the focus of the problem studied, this research uses a qualitative approach, the type of research is in the form of literature, and the analysis technique is taken with a comparative descriptive method. The results of his research show that, First, Abu Laits As-Samarqandi's thoughts on the rights of children that must be fulfilled by parents are: (1) post-birth obligations which include giving names, education, and marriage, (2) developing into filial children, (3) obtaining family happiness, and (4) forming good personalities, vertically and socially. Second, in terms of the status of the hadiths that are the main basis of his thought, Abu Laits does not mention his hadith sanad in detail, considering that the book Tanbih Al-Ghafilin is not a hadith book. After going through the study, it was found that some of them were sahih and dha'if, however, arguing with the hadith of dha'if is permissible in the context of education because it is the virtue of charity (fadha'il al-a'mal).

Abstract

This article discusses the urgency of preparing planning documents in Islamic education units. Islamic education, as a comprehensive system, aims to equip individuals with a solid moral and spiritual foundation. However, Islamic education faces the challenges of globalization, technological advances and social changes that require adaptation to remain relevant. Systematic planning is an important solution to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of implementing Islamic education. This research uses library research methods in the form of media from the internet, journals, or a combination of various types of library sources that are relevant to the topic discussed. This article aims to examine in more depth the importance of preparing planning documents in Islamic education units. This article also discusses various types of planning documents commonly used in education, such as Work Plans (Renja), Budget and Cost Plans (RAB), and Strategic Plans (Renstra), as well as their effective implementation to achieve educational goals. The research method used is literature study by examining various sources such as journals and books. The results of the study show that planning has a significant role in Islamic education. Planning serves as direction, work standards, a unifying framework, and helps predict opportunities and challenges. Preparing good planning documents will speed up the performance of educational institutions, direct them to the right goals, and improve the quality and relevance of Islamic education in the future. This article provides a comprehensive understanding and practical guidance for stakeholders in improving the quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of public speaking in developing students' communication skills at SDN Panglegur 2. Public speaking is one of the effective learning methods in improving public speaking skills, courage to express opinions, and building students' self-confidence from an early age. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of structured public speaking activities, such as class presentations, storytelling, and short speeches, can significantly improve students' verbal communication skills. In addition, students become more active in discussions, are able to convey ideas clearly, and show an increase in the use of effective language. These findings indicate that public speaking has an important role in the learning process and development of students' interpersonal communication at the elementary school level. Therefore, it is recommended that public speaking activities be integrated continuously into the learning curriculum.
