Abstract

The issue of Islam and religious moderation is a complex topic that requires deep understanding. Religious moderation in the Islamic context refers to a more balanced and tolerant approach to Islamic teachings, which avoids extremism and fanaticism. This study delves into the concept of religious moderation in Islam, known as wasatiyah, and its relevance in the contemporary world. Religious moderation, emphasizing balance, tolerance, and a middle-ground approach, is deemed crucial in confronting the escalating challenges of radicalism and extremism. Employing a qualitative approach, the study analyzes literature and conducts interviews with religious scholars, academics, and practitioners of religious moderation from diverse Muslim nations. The findings reveal that applying the principles of religious moderation can bolster social harmony, enhance interfaith dialogue, and foster a more peaceful and inclusive society. The study also identifies challenges in implementing religious moderation, including resistance from extremist groups and a lack of public understanding of the concept. It recommends integrating wasatiyah values into religious education and public policy to promote a more tolerant, inclusive, and just society. Additionally, it encourages collaboration between governments and civil society organizations in promoting religious moderation.

Abstract

This research aims to critically reveal the science of kalam regarding the views of Sheikh Ahmad Ad-Dardiri, a Shufi scholar who has several works. Of his many works, the most popular among students is the book "kharidatul bahiyah" which explains about kalam science. The research method used by the author is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research show that the kalam science studied by Sheikh Ahmad Ad-Dardiri discusses various aspects of Islamic aqidah using logical and philosophical arguments. The main aim of Ilmu Kalam is to provide information to Muslims about the basic beliefs of Islam and to defend Islamic teachings. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan secara kritis tentang ilmu kalam terhadap pandangan Syekh Ahmad Ad-Dardiri merupakan ulama Shufi yang memiliki beberapa karya-karyanya, Adapun dari sekian banyak karya-karya beliau yang paling terpopuler di kalangan santri yaitu kitab “ kharidatul bahiyah” yang menjelaskan tentang ilmu kalam. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah studi pustaka (library resarch), pengumpulan data dengan cara mencari sumber dan mengkontruksi dari berbagai sumber seperti buku, jurnal, dan riset-riset yang sudah ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ilmu kalam yang dikaji oleh Syekh Ahmad Ad-Dardiri membahas berbagai aspek aqidah Islam dengan menggunakan argumen yang logis serta filosofis. Tujuan utama Ilmu Kalam adalah untuk memberi informasi kepada umat Islam tentang keyakinan dasar Islam dan untuk mempertahankan ajaran Islam.

Abstract

Halal bi halal is a typical tradition of Indonesian society which is carried out every Eid al-Fitr, namely in the month of Shawwal. This tradition is also an important moment for reconciliation and strengthening the bonds of friendship amidst the diversity of society. This tradition teaches values such as empathy, understanding, and humility, creating a harmonious atmosphere and strengthening social relations. This article is written to find out how important halal bi halal is as a form of reconciliation and strengthening of friendship amidst the diversity of Indonesian society. This paper is a literature study that makes the halal bi halal tradition have an important position in society. In Indonesia, which is rich in diversity, halal bi halal is an effective tool to unite the community and repair damaged relationships. So this tradition needs to be maintained and preserved to build a more peaceful and harmonious society.

Abstract

The Islamization of Mojokerto by Sheikh Jumadil Kubro: From Pre to Post-Java War 1820-1830 examines the pivotal role of Sheikh Jumadil Kubro in the spread of Islam in Mojokerto, East Java. This research traces the historical journey from the initial introduction of Islam to its establishment as a dominant cultural force, particularly during the turbulent era surrounding the Java War. By analyzing historical records, local traditions, and oral histories, the study highlights the strategic methods employed by Sheikh Jumadil Kubro in fostering Islamic beliefs. It also explores the impact of the Java War on the religious and social dynamics of Mojokerto, providing insights into the broader implications for the spread of Islam in Indonesia. The findings underscore the significance of religious leaders in shaping societal changes and contribute to a deeper understanding of Indonesia's Islamic heritage.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to describe in depth how PAI teacher competency influences the moral formation of students at MTs Raden Fatah. Through in-depth interviews PAI teachers a, this research revealed that teachers' personality competencies, especially in terms of warmth, empathy and effective communication, create strong emotional bonds between teachers and students. This bond becomes the basis for the process of internalizing religious values and sustainable moral formation. Students tend to imitate the behavior of teachers who they consider to be ideal and exemplary figures. Apart from that, teachers who have good personality competencies are able to create a safe and comfortable learning environment, so that students feel freer to ask questions, collaborate and develop themselves.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana infrastruktur dan fasilitas pendidikan memfasilitasi pembelajaran di MA Asy-Syafi’iyyah Karangasem dari perspektif guru dan siswa. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggali secara mendalam persepsi, pengalaman, dan harapan guru serta siswa terkait ketersediaan, kualitas, dan pemanfaatan sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa infrastruktur dan fasilitas di sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran. Adanya fasilitas yang sesuai, seperti laboratorium, perpustakaan, dan ruang kelas yang nyaman, dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, memperkaya metode pembelajaran guru, serta memfasilitasi interaksi yang lebih efektif antara guru dan siswa. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi beberapa kendala terkait kurangnya perawatan, keterbatasan anggaran, dan ketidaksesuaian antara sarana yang ada dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are one of the many Islamic educational institutions in which religious studies are conducted. In learning at Islamic boarding schools there are several methods that can be applied, including the syawir (discussion) method. The syawir method is a method where santri or students discuss a problem by arguing using arguments that are rational, scientific, and come from reliable sources. One of the Islamic boarding schools that researchers have encountered that implements the syawir method in its learning activities is the Al Qur'an Al Amin Grendeng Islamic Boarding School. The Al Qur'an Al Amin Grendeng Islamic boarding school is located in the Grendeng sub-district, North Purwokerto sub-district, Banyumas regency. Based on this, the researcher decided to raise the problem of how to implement the syawir method in increasing the understanding of students at the Al Qur'an Al Amin Grendeng Islamic boarding school. What was chosen for this research was a type of field research using a qualitative approach. There are two data used in this research, namely primary data and secondary data. Data obtained from interviews with administrators, students, and direct observation when activities are being carried out are primary data. As for secondary data, it is obtained through various sources such as articles, books, scientific works that are still related to research. The data collected was obtained through documentation, interviews and observation processes. Based on the research that has been carried out, the students of the Al Amin Grendeng Islamic Boarding School have enthusiasm and enthusiasm in learning to understand religious knowledge, with the syawir activities causing the students' understanding of religion at the Al Amin Grendeng Al Qur'an Islamic Boarding School to become broader and of course more easy to understand the material being studied.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the technological advances used since Covid-19 that were still used to evaluate student learning outcomes in the Midterm Assessment at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Tegal. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using the Google Forms application in the implementation of online-based Midterm Assessment (PTS) at MAN 1 Tegal. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach descriptive and qualitative methods. Determination of the sample in this study using purposive sampling technique, namely students of XII MIPA 4 and XII MIPA 6 classes, two teachers involved in the implementation of PTS, and the Head of Madrasah Curriculum. The data collection tools used include: questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. While data analysis was carried out using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques by converting qualitative assessments into quantitative assessments with the percentage formula. The results showed that the use of Google Forms as an online PTS platform provided convenience in organizing exams, increasing time efficiency, and minimizing technical errors in question distribution. In addition, most students consider Google Forms easy to access and use, although there are some obstacles related to internet connection and validity of exam results. Overall, the Google Forms application is considered effective in supporting the implementation of the online-based PTS.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of a humanistic approach-based curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Muallimat Muhammadiyah, founded on the personal education theories of John Dewey and J.J. Rousseau. Using qualitative methods through interviews and observations, this study analyzes the application of the humanistic approach in the madrasah curriculum. The research findings reveal that the curriculum implementation not only focuses on academic aspects but also encompasses students' moral and social development through various integrative learning activities. The research identifies three main findings: First, the integration of academic subjects between religious education and science that produces comprehensive understanding for students. Second, social reconstruction manifested through students' active involvement in identifying and solving social problems in their environment. Third, the effective utilization of technology to enrich the learning process and develop students' digital capabilities. The humanistic approach in the curriculum proves effective in developing students holistically. This is evident from the improvement in academic achievement balanced with mature personality development and good social skills. These findings indicate that the humanistic approach can serve as an ideal curriculum development model for Islamic educational institutions in preparing a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also possesses strong character.

Abstract

This thesis is the result of research regarding the Implementation of the Use of Fairy Tale-Based Big Book Media in Improving the Interactive Reading Ability of Class II Students at MI Islamiyah Jatimulya. As for the background of this research, the researcher found indications of the problem of students' lack of concentration in learning and the low reading ability of class II students, monotonous teacher learning methods and the absence of use of interesting learning media which had an impact on students' lack of learning motivation and enthusiasm in learning. so that the teaching and learning process tends to be passive. This type of research is field research. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. To analyze the problems above, researchers used the interactive data analysis model from Miles and Huberman which involves four stages of data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. This research aims to improve the interactive reading skills of class II students at MI Islamiyah Jatimulya. The subjects of this research were 20 class II students consisting of 10 male students and 10 female students. Data collection techniques in this research are observation and interviews. Interviews were used to see the use of fairy tale-based big book media. Meanwhile, observation is used to see student activities in the application of fairy tale-based big book media in classroom learning. The results of the research show that there is an increase in student learning activities when implementing fairy tale-based big book media. A total of 14 students obtained a score percentage of 88% in the "good" category. A total of 4 students obtained a percentage score of 92% in the "very good" category and there were only 2 students who obtained a low percentage score, namely 76% in the "not good" category. The indicators of reading difficulties experienced by these students are not being able to pronounce vowel diphthong letter combinations (nya, nyi, nga, ngi...) and having help to read and spell syllables
