Abstract

Doomscrolling, the compulsive tendency to consume negative content on social media, has become an increasingly disturbing phenomenon among Generation Z in Indonesia and has the potential to trigger existential anxiety deep anxiety regarding the meaning of life, death, and self-alienation. This study aims to examine the relationship between doomscrolling, fear of missing out (FoMO), and existential anxiety, and to formulate a cognitive-behavioral counseling model contextualized to the collectivistic culture and Islamic religiosity in Indonesia. The study used a quantitative correlational approach involving 230 Generation Z respondents who are active social media users, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using three validated instruments, namely the Social Media Doomscrolling Scale, the Existential Anxiety Questionnaire, and the Fear of Missing Out Scale, then analyzed using correlation tests and multiple regressions in SPSS. Theoretical studies show that doomscrolling is related to existential anxiety through the mechanisms of erosion of basic assumptions about the world (Shattered Assumption Theory) and activation of death anxiety (Terror Management Theory), which is reinforced by the unmet need for social connectedness (FoMO). This study confirms that the cognitive-behavioral counseling model for Indonesian Generation Z needs to integrate cognitive restructuring with spiritual-religious values such as dhikrullah, sabr, and tawakkal, so that the intervention is more relevant and culturally acceptable. These findings are expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Guidance and Counseling services in the digital era.

Abstract

Changes in social structure, rising economic participation of women, and the growing intellectual capacity of wives have produced the phenomena of wives' role dominance and husbands' domestification, reviving debates over the position of qiwamah in Islamic family law. This study analyzes the construction of qiwamah across the Hanafi, Maliki, Syafi'i, and Hanbali schools, examines the normative status of wives' role dominance and husbands' domestification, and explores whether fadl and financial maintenance function as the illah or merely the hikmah of qiwamah, along with their implications for contemporary Muslim family leadership. This qualitative library research uses a normative approach, drawing on classical fiqh texts across the four madhhabs, Qur'anic exegesis, scientific journals, and official statistical reports, analyzed through comparative, ushul fiqh, and socio-normative approaches. The findings show that all four madhhabs converge on understanding qiwamah as a mandate of leadership oriented toward responsibility, protection, and family welfare rather than male superiority, so a wife's economic dominance or intellectual superiority and a husband's greater domestic involvement do not automatically transfer qiwamah to the wife. Ushul fiqh analysis further shows that fadl and financial maintenance do not meet the criteria of a clear, fixed, and measurable illah, and are more appropriately positioned as the hikmah of qiwamah. This study concludes that changes in household role distribution affect only the implementation of rights and obligations, not the structure of family leadership, so the reconstruction of qiwamah should strengthen deliberation, cooperation, mutual good treatment, and shared responsibility in line with Islamic legal principles.

Abstract

This investigation aims to map the relationship between time management skills and the intensity of learning concentration possessed by the dormitory administrators at the Daarul Qur'an Putri Islamic Boarding School in Cikarang. By applying a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the entire population of 46 people was involved as respondents through a total sampling technique. Primary data was obtained through the time management scale instrument and the learning concentration scale, then processed using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results of data processing proved a significant positive correlation between the two variables with a value of r = 0.606 and p < 0.001. The magnitude of the coefficient of determination indicates that variations in learning concentration are influenced by time management skills by 36.7 percent, while the remaining 63.3 percent is triggered by other factors outside the limits of this study. This empirical evidence emphasizes that increasing skills in time management directly contributes to strengthening the learning concentration of dormitory administrators. These findings are expected to be a reference basis in developing guidance and counseling service strategies and designing more effective time management development programs in the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)-based group counseling in reducing students' anxiety during muhadhoroh (public speaking) activities at an Islamic boarding school. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The participants consisted of 20 seventh-grade female students selected through purposive sampling from 45 students who exhibited moderate to high levels of public speaking anxiety. They were divided into an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 10 participants. The experimental group received five sessions of CBT-based group counseling, whereas the control group received no intervention. Data were collected using an anxiety questionnaire and analyzed through Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The findings indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The experimental group showed a significant reduction in anxiety scores from a mean of 82.70 to 53.60, while the control group showed only a slight decrease from 76.80 to 73.70. The independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference between groups (p < 0.001), supported by a very large effect size (Cohen's d = -2.664). Furthermore, the experimental group achieved an N-Gain score of 0.526 (52.64%), categorized as effective, whereas the control group obtained only 0.063 (6.33%). These findings demonstrate that CBT-based group counseling is effective in reducing students' anxiety during muhadhoroh activities.

Abstract

This study examines the enforcement of laws against ethnic-based hate speech occurring on social media in Donggo Subdistrict, Bima Regency. The main focus of this study is on how the law enforcement process is carried out and the various obstacles faced by authorities in addressing hateful content that attacks the identity of the “Dou Donggo” community. This study employs an empirical legal method using a sociological-juridical approach and qualitative analysis. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with law enforcement officials, local government representatives, community leaders, and social media users, supplemented by observations and documentation. The research findings indicate that the handling of ethnic-based hate speech is carried out through two mechanisms: the formal legal channel, which refers to the provisions of the ITE Law and Constitutional Court rulings; and the social channel, through amicable resolution involving traditional leaders. However, the effectiveness of law enforcement remains hampered by weak electronic evidence, low public legal awareness, and the strong preference for amicable settlements, which have the potential to sideline formal legal processes. Therefore, there is a need to improve digital literacy, strengthen cyber forensic capabilities, and harmonize customary mechanisms with criminal law.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between bullying behavior and the mental health of junior high school students. Adolescence is a developmental phase particularly vulnerable to bullying, which can impact students' psychological well-being and mental health. A quantitative correlational approach was employed. The study population consisted of 210 junior high school students, with a sample of 138 students determined using Slovin's formula and simple random sampling. Data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires and documentation. Normality tests revealed that the bullying behavior variable was normally distributed (Sig. = 0.077), whereas the mental health variable was not (Sig. = 0.000); consequently, the Spearman Rank correlation test was used for data analysis. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of -0.440, indicating a moderate negative relationship between bullying behavior and student mental health. Higher levels of bullying behavior experienced by students corresponded to lower levels of mental health; conversely, lower levels of bullying behavior were associated with better mental health. The study highlights the need to strengthen bullying prevention efforts through guidance and counseling services, as well as collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and the entire school community, to create a safe learning environment that supports student mental health.

Abstract

Corruption remains one of the most significant challenges to the rule of law in Indonesia. Rapid advances in digital technology have transformed criminal behavior, evidentiary mechanisms, and public communication surrounding law enforcement processes. At the same time, the widespread use of social media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital data analytics, and electronic law enforcement systems has created both opportunities and ethical challenges for law enforcement professionals. This study aims to examine the urgency of reconstructing professional ethics for law enforcement officers in handling corruption cases within the digital environment and to formulate an ethical framework capable of preserving integrity, accountability, independence, and cyber justice. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, case, and comparative approaches. Legal materials were collected through an extensive literature review of legislation, judicial decisions, professional codes of ethics, and relevant national and international scholarly publications. The findings indicate that the digital transformation of law enforcement has not been accompanied by adequate ethical reforms capable of addressing the implications of digital technology, public pressure through social media, Artificial Intelligence, and the spread of digital misinformation. These developments have the potential to undermine institutional independence and weaken public trust in the justice system. Consequently, this study proposes a reconstruction of professional ethics that incorporates digital integrity, algorithmic accountability, transparency in technological utilization, human rights protection, and digital governance-based ethical oversight as fundamental principles for modern, accountable, and equitable law enforcement.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed contemporary law enforcement, particularly in addressing white-collar crime involving corruption, abuse of authority, money laundering, and technology-enabled financial offenses. Simultaneously, social media and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have accelerated the dissemination of information, allowing public opinion to develop long before judicial proceedings are completed. This phenomenon challenges the independence of law enforcement officials in maintaining objectivity, professionalism, and compliance with professional ethics. This study aims to examine the influence of information virality on law enforcement independence and to formulate an ethical framework that responds to the emergence of AI and digital communication. Employing normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, case, and comparative approaches, this study finds that AI, social media, and digital misinformation intensify public pressure on investigators, prosecutors, and judges. Existing professional ethics regulations in Indonesia remain insufficient to address these technological developments comprehensively. Consequently, this study proposes the Ethical Digital Law Enforcement Framework, emphasizing independence, algorithmic accountability, information transparency, human rights protection, and digital governance as essential principles for maintaining professional law enforcement in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of academic stress, identify the causing factors, and understand the role of group guidance services in helping tahfizh students manage stress at Pesantren Riyadhul Qur’an Ar Ridwan. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection was carried out through field observation, in-depth interviews with seven research subjects, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that students experience academic stress due to dual demands between Al-Qur’an memorization targets and the academic curriculum, manifesting as anxiety, physical fatigue (headaches), and procrastination. The implementation of group guidance services through Prayitno’s four systematic stages (formation, transition, activity, and termination) proved to play an important role as a curative and preventive solution. Through group dynamics, students are able to restructure their mindsets to change negative perceptions of the memorization burden into positive challenges and improve time management skills. Emotional support and a sense of solidarity built between group members significantly help reduce students' psychological burdens. In conclusion, group guidance is an effective strategy to improve psychological well-being and significantly reduce the level of academic stress for tahfizh students.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common problem among students as it leads to delays in completing academic tasks and poor time management. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of eco art therapy in reducing academic procrastination among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Leuwiliang. This study employed a quantitative method using a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of six students selected through purposive sampling based on the highest academic procrastination scores. Data were collected using a valid and reliable academic procrastination scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively by comparing the pre-test and post-test results. The results showed that the average academic procrastination score decreased from 95.00 (79%) in the pre-test to 83.33 in the post-test, representing a 12% reduction. These findings indicate that eco art therapy is effective as an alternative guidance and counseling service to reduce students' academic procrastination.
