Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of use of standard language among students which is influenced by the bilingual phenomenon that occurs among teenagers, especially students. In analyzing the data, researchers chose Medan State University students as research objects where data was obtained through distributing questionnaires contained in the Google Form link. This research aims to find out (1) how standard language is used among students, (2) what is the frequency of use of standard language within students, (3) what causes students to find it difficult to use standard language, and (4) what language is used more often by students. students in communicating other than standard language. The results of this research were that 8 people used standard language more often, 7 people used regional language more often and 12 people used slang more often. On average, participants chose to use slang more often than standard or regional language. This is because slang is used more often because the respondents are used to it and are often in environments where slang is also used.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a literature review on the application of collaborative learning model principles in teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA). Collaborative learning models have become increasingly popular approaches in today's educational context, as they promote active participation, social interaction, and group-based learning. In the context of BIPA teaching, the application of collaborative learning models is crucial to facilitate effective learning for students studying Indonesian as a second language. In this literature review, we identify the main principles of collaborative learning models and analyze how these principles can be applied in the context of BIPA teaching. This literature review also explores previous studies that have investigated the application of collaborative learning models in BIPA teaching and evaluated their impact on student learning achievement. The findings of this literature review are expected to provide better insights into the potential and challenges of implementing collaborative learning models in BIPA teaching and provide guidance for further research in this field.

Abstract

In the current era of modernization, digital applications have brought revolutionary changes in the way we acquire knowledge and skills, including language learning. Seeing the large number of uses of digital applications for language learning today, the author is interested in discussing the use of tandem applications in learning Indonesian for foreign speakers. In this research, qualitative descriptive research is aimed at describing and illustrating existing phenomena, both natural and human engineered, which pays more attention to characteristics, quality, and interrelationships between activities. The subjects of this research are foreigners who have joined or used the Tandem application which connects language learners with native speakers. The material taught is BIPA level A1 learning where students can use Indonesian in daily communication. Then, data collection in this research used primary data collection techniques. This research shows that the use of BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) with digital applications has the potential to provide great benefits in expanding access and increasing the effectiveness of Indonesian language learning for foreign learners. This shows that the optimal use of digital applications in learning foreign languages can make a significant contribution to Indonesian language learning at the international level.

Abstract

This research explores the Utilization of Yellow Book Collections by Female Students at the Library of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic Boarding School in Deli Serdang. The aim of this study is to determine whether the yellow book collections for female students in the library of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school have been utilized and to identify the obstacles experienced by female students in utilizing the yellow book collections available in the library of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school. This research is descriptive in nature, employing a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that the utilization of yellow book collections by female students in the library of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school has not been fully exploited, as the female students encounter difficulties in understanding and utilizing the yellow books due to the absence of diacritical marks (fathah, kasrah, dhammah, sukun). Additionally, their everyday vocabulary (mufhrodat) is still lacking, and their proficiency in studying nahwu and sharaf is weak. The obstacles to the utilization of yellow book collections for female students at the library of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school include the absence of diacritical marks (fathah, kasrah, dhammah, sukun) in the yellow books, which makes it difficult for female students to comprehend them. Furthermore, the difficulty in interpreting the yellow books is due to the lack of everyday vocabulary, the weakness in Arabic language proficiency among female students, the absence of specific schedules for learning yellow books, and the lack of communication between female students and teachers in yellow book learning.

Abstract

Corruption is a classic problem faced by the Indonesian people. This research aims to determine the condition of corruption in Indonesia and how to reduce corrupt actions based on analyses done by other research This research uses a literature review approach (library research). The data collection technique used in this research is documentation, collecting data from news websites. Corruption has a very detrimental negative impact on the economy and development of a country. Efforts to eradicate corruption must be done systematically and continuously to achieve optimal results for economic development and the welfare of society.

Abstract

The aim of this Community Service is to provide knowledge on how to be a smart and wise voter, the procedures for casting votes in the polling station, and the rights of citizens as regulated in the 1945 Constitution so that the PKK group in Ledug Village has political insights and awareness. The Community Service method is carried out through political socialization to women face-to-face, starting from preparation, briefing, to implementation. This service activity is carried out directly by lecturers and students from UIN Prof.K.H.Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto. The expected end result of this Community Service is to provide significant benefits to the PKK group in Ledug Village, so that they understand how to cast votes in the polling station, do not abstain from voting, and can actively participate in the Village Head Election 2023 and the General Election 2024.

Abstract

P5 was implemented in the independent curriculum to implement the values of Pancasila to Indonesian students. P5 stands for the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. This program aims to provide opportunities for students to learn about important issues around them. This community service activity aims to provide training in the form of developing a RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model that can be implemented for the Pancasila student profile strengthening project. The targets of this community service are teachers of SDN 1 Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency, totaling 55 people. The approach or service method used is Service Learning (SL). The Service Learning method is one approach to teaching that combines academic goals to foster awareness in solving problems directly. The implementation of community service in the development of the RADEC learning model for elementary school teachers has satisfactory results, as many as 85.67% of teachers can develop teaching modules that implement the RADEC model in strengthening the Pancasila student profile, and the teacher's response states that the RADEC learning model is easy to design and can develop competencies in the project of strengthening the Pancasila student profile.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate how Pancasila values are applied as a philosophical framework in university campuses, specifically at Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). This study examined students in UNIMED's English education program's awareness and application of Pancasila values through a hybrid method comprising surveys and literature reviews. The results demonstrate that the majority of respondents actively incorporate Pancasila basic values into their everyday activities on campus and have a clear knowledge of their significance. However, completely embracing the values is not without its difficulties. It is advised to increase knowledge, application, and reflection on the fundamental, practical, and instrumental elements of Pancasila in order to enhance the integration of Pancasila ideals on campus. Programs that encourage the comprehension and application of Pancasila ideals as well as support from educational establishments to raise awareness of these values as a moral and social cornerstone on campus can accomplish this.

Abstract

E-Performance adalah sistem informasi manajemen kinerja yang memanfaatkan teknologi informasi untuk mengevaluasi kinerja pegawai pemerintahan secara objektif dan terukur. Implementasi E-Performance di Pemerintah Kota Surabaya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan publik dengan menciptakan sistem manajemen SDM yang lebih terbuka, transparan, dan akuntabel. Meskipun telah ada langkah-langkah yang kuat dalam penerapan sistem ini, masih terdapat beberapa tantangan yang perlu diatasi, seperti keterbatasan pemahaman pegawai terkait sistem, kurangnya kesadaran pegawai, serta kurangnya sarana dan prasarana. Namun, dengan dukungan yang berkelanjutan dan peningkatan kapasitas pegawai, implementasi E-Performance di Pemerintah Kota Surabaya diharapkan dapat mencapai hasil yang lebih optimal dalam meningkatkan performa ASN dan kualitas layanan publik secara holistik.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merit System in the promotion process of Civil Servants (ASN) in Indonesia, with a focus on a case study at the Ministry of Finance. The concepts of qualification, competence, and performance are the main foundations in the management of employees in the public sector. Through a literature review research method, this study highlights the challenges and progress in the implementation of the Merit System, as well as the importance of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the promotion process. By emphasizing the values of merit, it is hoped that this system can reduce the culture of patrimonialism, improve the effectiveness of the career system, and strengthen transparency in decision-making for promotions. Although there are still challenges such as resistance to change, consistent efforts and strong political support are needed to realize an effective Merit System in the management of ASN in Indonesia.
