Abstract

Cigarette consumption among teenagers has become a trend in itself, causing them to forget about health. This problem in the regulations for controlling addictive substances in tobacco products as contained in Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2024 concerning Implementing Regulations of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health is in the public spotlight. In particular, regulations regarding retail cigarette sales, restrictions on cigarette advertising, and health warnings on cigarette packaging have been regulated in accordance with the norms of Article 434 paragraph (1). In this PKM activity, carrying out cigarette consumption literacy among teenagers in Langsa City aims to increase teenagers' knowledge about the dangers of consuming cigarettes and regulations regarding the prohibition of consuming cigarettes for teenagers in Langsa City, as well as encouraging teenagers to protect their health from the dangers of consuming cigarettes. In this way, teenagers in Langsa City are expected to be aware of the importance of maintaining health and regulating cigarette consumption for teenagers in Langsa City.

Abstract

Woven fabric is a cultural heritage that has existed for hundreds of years and continues to develop to this day, becoming a symbol of pride and regional identity. Cepuk fabric craftsmen in Tanglad Village are part of a community that produces traditional fabrics with skills that have existed for a long time. The existence of cepuk fabric craftsmen in Tanglad Village not only reflects the preservation of local culture, but is also the main source of livelihood for many families in the village. Cepuk fabric craftsmen in Tanglad Village, Nusa Penida, have great potential to develop and provide a positive impact on the local community. However, they often face various challenges, such as limitations in financial management, marketing, and development of production capacity. So it takes an understanding and awareness of the importance of doing business planning and bookkeeping. The methods used are observation methods, presentations with powerpoint and training with books and Google Drive face-to-face or offline. This community service activity is carried out with a door-to-door system, aiming that the material is delivered according to the desired target. The results obtained from this community service activity are to make Cepuk Weaving craftsmen increasingly aware of the importance of bookkeeping for their business, and to be able to increase the desire to learn simple bookkeeping so that their business finances can be better controlled. Overall, social entrepreneurship-based business assistance provides double benefits, namely improving the economic welfare of Cepuk weaving craftsmen while supporting the preservation of culture and the environment.

Abstract

The aim of this service is to provide assistance in public speaking learning for finalists of Indonesian Arts and Culture Ambassadors in order to improve their communication and presentation skills. As representatives of Indonesian culture, the finalists are expected to be able to convey cultural messages confidently and effectively on various occasions. This mentoring activity is carried out through a series of training which includes basic public speaking techniques, mastery of material, and development of public speaking skills. The methods used are interactive training, simulation and continuous evaluation. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in the public speaking skills of the finalists, both in terms of mastery of the material, speaking techniques, and their appearance in front of the audience. It is hoped that this assistance can make a positive contribution in improving the quality and credibility of the finalists for the Indonesian Arts and Culture Ambassadors in promoting the richness of Indonesian arts and culture at the national and international levels.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the migration motives that underlie generation Z in following Ustadz Hanan Attaki's TikTok account. Alfred Schutz's phenomenological study was used as a theoretical framework to understand the motives and subjective experiences of the informants. The research method used was a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews with 9 informants who were active viewers and followed Ustadz Hanan Attaki's TikTok account from generation Z. The data collected was then analyzed based on the concept of "because" motive and "goal" motive. " (motif in order) Schutz. The research results show that there are various migration motives behind generation Z in following Ustadz Hanan Attaki's TikTok account. The “because” motive includes past spiritual experiences, environmental influences, and identity crises. Meanwhile, the "goal" motive includes the desire to improve oneself, search for the meaning of life, and gain inner peace. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of migration among generation Z in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the KKM-PKM program (Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa-Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) nature of connecting technology with the community in Dusun Padi, Wajok Hilir Village. The background of this research is driven by the rapid development of digital technology that has not been fully utilized by the village community, through a participatory approach, this research identifies community needs and potential technologies that can be applied. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, focus group discussions (FGDs) with local residents, and literature studies from previous research. The results showed that there was a gap in knowledge of digital technology among the people of Padi Hamlet. However, through the KKM program, students successfully introduced relevant digital applications and tools, such as the use of social media for marketing local products and digital skills training. The conclusion of this study confirms that the KKM program not only contributes to the improvement of technological knowledge in the community, but also strengthens social and economic connectedness. Recommendations for further development include the need for continuous training and support from local government to facilitate technology adoption in rural communities.

Abstract

The background to this community service activity is based on the problem of the lack of physical arrangement of villages, especially Nipah Hamlet, Sungai Rengas Kapuas Village, which is a division of Sungai Rengas Village, marked by PERDA Number 8 of 2019. In this era, the development of village spatial planning is the main key in optimizing the potential of the area, because Rengas Kapuas Village is an expansion, there is still a lot of infrastructure that is still a concern for the local government, one of which is the gg name sign on each gg in Nipah hamlet. Due to the lack of gg signs in Nipah hamlet, in coordination with the hamlet and involving village officials and local residents in making gg signs, this was carried out. Activities will be carried out from July 1 to July 31 2024. Construction of Regional Boundary Nameplates consists of poles, nameplates and writing. The results of the KKN show that making gg nameplates is very beneficial for the residents of Nipah Hamlet, where residents feel satisfied because they have good environmental infrastructure and find it easier to find gg and can provide complete address information.

Abstract

This community service and research aims to improve the welfare of farmers in Dusun Nenas, Dusun Nenas, Wajok Hilir Village, Kab. Mempawah, Prov. West Kalimantan, where most of the people depend on the agricultural sector. Taro, as one of the local commodities that has great potential, is rich in nutrients and has a unique flavor. However, the development of processed taro products by local MSMEs is constrained by less attractive and informative packaging. Effective packaging is essential to protect the product while attracting consumer attention. By utilizing the advantages of fresh and quality local raw materials, processed taro products have the opportunity to compete in the market. This research made efforts through training and mentoring in innovative packaging design to improve product competitiveness. This training is expected to help the community in creating more attractive and functional packaging, so as to increase the selling value of the product and strengthen its position in the market. It is expected that this activity will improve the quality of processed taro products, expand market reach, and make a positive contribution to the welfare of the community in Nenas Hamlet.

Abstract

This community service program aims to evaluate the impact of basic skills training, such as time management, marketing management, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship, on children at the Kasih Bapa orphanage. This program is designed to equip children at the Kasih Bapa orphanage with knowledge and practical skills that are relevant to everyday life and the world of work. This research involved 13 children from the Kasih Bapa Orphanage in Arang Limbung village Kubu Raya Regency. The methods used include observation, workshops, participatory action, and simulations. Data was gathered using pretests and posttests to measure increases in understanding and skills before and after training. The evaluation results show a significant increase in children's understanding of time management, marketing management, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Apart from that, this program also motivates them to develop their potential in the field of entrepreneurship. This training has proven effective in increasing children's awareness and ability to actively participate in economic and social activities, as well as preparing them to become more independent, competitive, and productive individuals in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the level of social media usage among East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) students and analyze the potential of social media in creating local culture-based business opportunities. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, it involved 100 students from various educational and cultural backgrounds. The results of this study revealed that NTT students actively utilize various social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. It shows that social media is not only a means of communication, but also a promising business opportunity. NTT's rich cultural diversity, such as traditions, arts, and culinary, can be effectively promoted through attractive visual content on these platforms. Students can utilize social media to create a personal brand, collaborate with local influencers, and reach a wider market, both domestic and international. This study identified that despite the great potential, many students have not fully utilized social media as a tool for doing business. Therefore, this study suggests several strategies to maximize the potential of social media in developing culture-based businesses, including: building content based on local cultural stories through the stories feature, utilizing short videos to attract attention on TikTok, providing educational content on YouTube, and combining cross-platform use. Thus, with the right utilization of social media, students can contribute to the local economy and preserve NTT culture.

Abstract

Sahan Village, which is located in the Indonesian border region, has a variety of potential natural resources and economic opportunities that have not been fully exploited. As a village that borders directly with a neighboring country, Sahan Village has the opportunity to market its abundant natural resources such as tourism, agriculture and a variety of local culinary delights. In this case, of course, adequate quality human resources are needed in order to develop the economic potential in Sahan Village. This type of research that uses a participatory approach or Participatory Action Research is a research model that seeks something to connect the research process to the process of social change in improving the community's economy. Economic development is defined as an effort to increase local economic income on the pretext that to become an independent and sustainable region, the region must be able to utilize its resources to the maximum extent possible so as to create added value and a long production chain. The aim of developing tourism economic potential in border areas is increasing local economic income and developing sustainable tourism. Sahan Village, Bengkayang Regency can become one of the villages that can be developed as a tourist village destination that is environmentally friendly, insightful, and can have a positive impact on the community, government and tourists. Community-based ecotourism can create new jobs for the community and improve community welfare as well as provide a positive impact on local communities, environmental and socio-cultural preservation so that it can foster a sense of self-confidence among local residents that develops through ecotourism activities.
