Abstract

This study aims to examine the conceptual distinction between Islam and Islamism through the lens of Bassam Tibi’s intellectual framework and its relevance to Islamist groups in Indonesia. Bassam Tibi differentiates Islam as a religion founded upon spiritual values and universal ethics, whereas Islamism is conceived as a political ideology that seeks to instrumentalize Islamic doctrines for the pursuit of power. Employing a qualitative methodology grounded in literature-based analysis, this research evaluates Tibi’s major works and juxtaposes them with the contemporary religious dynamics of Indonesia. The findings demonstrate that Tibi’s perspective offers a reconciliatory framework for understanding divergent viewpoints within Muslim and Islamist communities in Indonesia. His theoretical contributions provide a robust foundation for analyzing the emergence and development of Islamist movements, particularly in relation to issues of religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity. In the Indonesian context, Islam—deeply rooted in local cultural traditions and national values—faces challenges from Islamist groups advocating transnational ideological agendas, including the establishment of an Islamic state and the formal implementation of shari‘a. These findings underscore the critical importance of distinguishing Islam as a religion from Islamism as a political ideology in order to preserve social harmony and sustain national cohesion. This study contributes to the advancement of contemporary Islamic studies and offers a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon of religious politicization. Bassam Tibi’s perspective emerges as a relevant and analytically valuable framework for examining the multifaceted dynamics of interreligious, ethnic, and cultural relations in Indonesia.

Abstract

The implementation of the Online Single Submission (OSS) system is part of the government's policy to facilitate business and simplify licensing bureaucracy. In the context of regional public services, the Sidoarjo Regency Public Service Mall (MPP) acts as an integrated service center that supports the implementation of OSS in business licensing services. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the OSS system in business licensing services at the MPP of Sidoarjo Regency by applying the perspective of policy implementation theory, which includes aspects of disposition, communication, bureaucratic structure, and resources. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical research type. Data were collected through observation and interviews, then analyzed comprehensively to describe the conditions of OSS implementation in the field. Informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling, considering the relevance of the informants to the research focus. The results of the study show that the implementation of OSS in the Sidoarjo Regency MPP has basically been running and has made a positive contribution in supporting business licensing services. The aspects of disposition and bureaucratic structure show relatively good conditions, marked by the responsive attitude of officers, the existence of clear SOPs, and functional coordination between agencies. However, limitations were still found in the aspects of communication and resources, particularly in relation to the dissemination of information on the OSS system update and the technical readiness of the apparatus. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen dissemination, increase human resource capacity, and optimize supporting facilities so that the objectives of the business facilitation policy can be achieved more optimally.

Abstract

Communication between teachers and parents plays an important role in supporting early childhood education (ECE). However, at Hompimpaa Playschool, the communication medium used in the form of PDF-based liaison books has created several challenges, including time-consuming report preparation, static content, and difficulties in organizing and tracking children’s development records over time. This community service program aimed to assist the implementation of spreadsheets and Looker Studio as a more dynamic, efficient, and accessible digital liaison book. The program was conducted using a participatory mentoring and training approach through three face-to-face sessions, consisting of needs identification, core system training, and implementation assistance with evaluation. Teachers were guided to perform centralized data entry using spreadsheets, while parents were facilitated to monitor children’s development through a Looker Studio dashboard that can be filtered by date. The results indicate a shift in teachers’ workflow from preparing static PDF reports to a simpler and more structured data input process, as well as improved accessibility of information for parents without the need to repeatedly download report files. In addition, a practical user guide module was developed to support program sustainability. This activity demonstrates that the application of simple digital technologies, when accompanied by proper mentoring, can enhance teacher–parent communication, reduce teachers’ administrative workload, and has the potential to be replicated in other early childhood education institutions facing similar challenges.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to identify the level of understanding, utilization, and perceived benefits of Artificial Intelligence technology, specifically ChatGPT, Google Sheets, and basic video content creation, for Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kroya Village. The program was designed as a digital capacity-building initiative to support SMEs in improving marketing effectiveness, administrative efficiency, and creative content production. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using a survey instrument consisting of 15 Likert-scale questions distributed to 25 SME participants. The survey measured digital literacy, perceived usefulness, implementation readiness, and training relevance. The results show that the average response score of participants ranged between 3.8 and 4.6, indicating a high level of acceptance and positive perception toward AI-based tools. The highest average scores were observed in aspects related to marketing content creation and efficiency improvement. These findings demonstrate that ChatGPT and supporting digital tools are highly relevant for SME empowerment, particularly in strengthening promotional strategies and operational efficiency. The activity concludes that structured training in AI-based digital tools can significantly enhance SME readiness for digital transformation.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kroya Village have considerable product potential; however, they still face challenges in digital marketing, particularly in terms of product photo visual quality. The main issues include limited product photography skills and the perception that producing attractive product photos requires expensive equipment. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of MSME actors in Kroya Village to produce visually appropriate product photos through training in product photography techniques using low-cost equipment. The program employed a participatory and applicative approach, including problem identification, learning-by-doing training sessions, as well as mentoring and evaluation. The training involved 30 MSME participants and utilized simple equipment such as product photo boxes and LED lighting. The results indicate an improvement in product photo quality in terms of lighting, object sharpness, composition, and background suitability, making the photos more suitable for digital marketing purposes. This program contributes to strengthening MSME independence in managing visual marketing content.

Abstract

Family conflict between parents and children remains a prevalent psychosocial issue that can adversely affect emotional well-being, communication patterns, and overall family functioning. In recent years, family counseling has been increasingly utilized as an evidence-based intervention to address such conflicts; however, empirical findings continue to demonstrate variability depending on contextual and methodological factors. This study aims to systematically review the effectiveness of family counseling in managing parent–child conflicts based on recent empirical journal publications. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing ten peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. Articles were retrieved from reputable academic databases and selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria focusing on intervention models, research designs, and reported outcomes. The findings indicate that family counseling is consistently effective in reducing conflict intensity, improving communication quality, strengthening emotional bonds, and enhancing problem-solving capacities between parents and children. Various counseling approaches, including systemic family therapy, cognitive-behavioral family counseling, and solution-focused counseling, demonstrate positive outcomes when applied in accordance with family context and relational dynamics. Overall, the review confirms that family counseling constitutes a relevant and effective intervention for resolving parent–child conflicts. Future research is recommended to employ longitudinal designs and culturally responsive counseling frameworks to further strengthen the empirical evidence base.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of hadith educational media from the classical era to the digital age. By employing a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, this research aims to: (1) define the concept of hadith educational media, (2) describe its forms in the classical period, (3) explain its development in the modern era, and (4) analyze the challenges and opportunities of digital hadith media. The findings reveal that classical media such as oral transmission (sama’), manual writing on scrolls (shahifah), and the use of the pulpit (mimbar) relied on direct teaching, memorization, and physical artifacts to preserve and transmit hadith. In the modern period, media have expanded to include print, electronic, digital, interactive, and visual formats, enabling wider dissemination and more engaging learning experiences. However, the digital era brings challenges, including the spread of fabricated hadith (maudhu’), low digital literacy, commercialization of religious content, and a lack of scholarly oversight. Opportunities identified include broader access to authentic sources, innovative da’wah methods, youth involvement in digital preaching, digital preservation of manuscripts, and global academic collaboration. The study concludes that while digital transformation offers significant potential for Islamic education, it must be accompanied by scholarly verification, ethical guidance, and integration with classical learning traditions to ensure the integrity and authenticity of hadith transmission.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the significance of religious moderation in the digital age and examine the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education in instilling values of balance, tolerance, and moderate religious attitudes in the Society 5.0 era. Indonesia’s unique social character, marked by diversity in religion, language, ethnicity, and culture within the framework of Pancasila, necessitates systematic efforts to establish religious moderation as a guiding filter in national life. This study applies a qualitative approach using library research methods by reviewing relevant literature, including academic books, scholarly articles, and other credible sources. The findings reveal that education plays a vital role in nurturing the spirit of religious moderation by strengthening values of tolerance, balance, and respect for diversity. Islamic Religious Education serves as a strategic tool to cultivate a moderate understanding of religion grounded in inclusive Islamic principles, thereby fostering a peaceful, safe, and harmonious society amid the dynamics of digital transformation.

Abstract

The development of an environment-based tourism village is one of the strategic efforts in improving community welfare while preserving nature. Tambakrejo Village, Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency, has the potential for natural tourism through Two-Season Nature Tourism in Awar-awar Hamlet. This area has an attraction in the form of seasonal lakes and distinctive natural landscapes, but before the service activities are carried out, it still faces problems in the form of suboptimal area arrangements, weak visual identity, and limited public understanding of the concept of eco-green tourism. This condition is the background for the implementation of community service activities by the KKN 011 Prabaswara team at Bhayangkara University Surabaya in 2025. The purpose of this service activity is to strengthen the management of Two-Season Nature Tourism through strengthening the branding of tourist villages, implementing the eco-green concept, and empowering local communities as the main actors in tourism management. The implementation method is carried out in a participatory manner by involving village officials, tourism managers, and the community in educational activities and area planning. The results of the activity show that there are significant changes in the physical and social aspects of the tourist area. Physically, the area became more organized through the planting of ornamental plants, the construction of eco-friendly photo spots from recycled materials, and the installation of tourist information boards. From the social side, the public has experienced an increased understanding of the importance of the eco-green concept, waste reduction, and the role of branding in attracting tourists. The involvement of residents in mutual cooperation activities also fosters a sense of belonging and commitment to maintaining tourism sustainability. Based on these results, it is recommended to strengthen digital promotion, increase the institutional capacity of tourism managers, and develop advanced programs so that Two-Season Nature Tourism can develop sustainably and competitively.

Abstract

The digital era has brought humanity into a post-truth phase, where emotional perceptions often trump objective facts, thus triggering the widespread spread of hoaxes and slander that undermine social cohesion. This study aims to reformulate the ethics of information verification through the concept of Tabayyun in the Qur'an as a theological and practical solution in the era of information disruption. Using a qualitative research method based on library research and a Thematic Tafsir (Maudhu'i) approach, this study collects and analyzes verses related to information validation, verbal honesty, and the social impact of disinformation. The results show that tabayyun is not merely a technical fact-checking procedure, but rather an epistemic and spiritual obligation rooted in piety. This study identifies that the concept of "fasiq" in the Qur'an can be reinterpreted in the modern era as sources of non-credible information, such as anonymous accounts and partisan media. Through an analysis of the Haditsul Ifki incident, this study formulates a digital information filter model that integrates technical literacy with transcendental awareness. The conclusion of this study confirms that the collective implementation of tabayyun culture is an essential form of intellectual jihad to mitigate the destructive impact of hoaxes and build a civilized digital ecosystem.
