Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media usage on the Instagram account @podcast_somestory toward fulfilling the information needs of its followers. The research employs a quantitative survey method with 100 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. The independent variable (X) consists of social media usage indicators based on the 4C framework (content, communication, connection, collaboration). Meanwhile, the dependent variable (Y) represents information needs fulfillment based on Bimalendu Guha’s Information Need Approaches, which include current, everyday, exhaustive, and catching-up needs. Data analysis techniques include validity and reliability testing, descriptive analysis, correlation testing, and linear regression. The results show that social media usage significantly influences the fulfillment of followers’ information needs. These findings reinforce the Uses and Gratifications theory within the context of social media and provide practical implications for optimizing information delivery strategies on Instagram.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of visual design in short-story content on the Engagement level of the @sukabumi_ community Instagram account. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing an online Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 100 active Instagram users aged 17–30 years. Data were analyzed through average score tabulation and a simple linear regression using SPSS. The findings reveal that all visual design indicators—color, typography, layout, and images—were rated very highly, indicating the visual elements on @sukabumi_ content are both aesthetically and communicatively effective. Engagement indicators such as Likes, Comments, Shares, and Saves were also rated highly, with the ‘Save’ action prevailing as the most common response due to the perceived relevance and value of the content. Regression analysis confirmed that visual design has a positive and significant effect on Engagement , contributing 40.8% to the variation in user interactions. These results underscore the importance of consistent and audience-appropriate visual design strategies to enhance communication effectiveness and increase user Engagement within local digital communities.

Abstract

Academic supervision is among the key instruments for improving the quality of learning and teacher professionalism. However, the implementation of supervision in the field often still contains administrative elements and lacks attention to the moral-spiritual aspects that are the main foundation of Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the application of the principle of ihsan in academic supervision thru a qualitative literature review. The principle of ihsan, which encompasses spiritual awareness, the highest quality, and sincerity in work, is considered relevant for improving the quality of interaction between supervisors and teachers. The analysis results show that the value of ihsan can be integrated into three stages of supervision: planning, observation, and feedback. In the planning stage, ihsan encourages the formulation of humanistic and improvement-oriented supervision goals, not just evaluation. In the observation stage, ihsan manifests in the form of honesty, empathy, and appreciation for teachers' efforts. Meanwhile, in the feedback stage, the value of ihsan strengthens the pattern of dialogical, gentle (rifq), and motivating communication to help teachers develop optimally. This study emphasizes that integrating the principles of ihsan can shape academic supervision that is more meaningful, humanistic, and aligned with the values of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

Family counseling has an important role in preventing and addressing domestic violence (DV), which remains a major social issue with significant psychological, physical, and intergenerational impacts. This study aims to analyze various research findings related to the effectiveness of family counseling in reducing the incidence of DV in Indonesia. Using a literature review method, articles published between 2021–2025 were systematically selected from databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, and other online sources using keywords including family counseling, domestic violence, and abuse. The reviewed studies show that family counseling improves communication patterns, enhances empathy, increases self-awareness, and helps both victims and perpetrators build healthier relationship dynamics. Counseling interventions also contribute to reducing psychological symptoms experienced by victims, including fear, anxiety, and trauma, while helping perpetrators recognize and manage aggressive behaviors. In addition, several studies highlight that counseling plays a preventive role by strengthening family resilience and breaking intergenerational cycles of violence. Overall, family counseling demonstrates strong potential as a curative and preventive strategy in decreasing DV cases in Indonesia. Strengthening access, reducing stigma, and increasing multidisciplinary support are crucial to maximizing the effectiveness of family-based interventions.

Abstract

Self-confrontation is a therapeutic communication technique that aims to enhance self-awareness, emotional regulation, and coping abilities across various groups, including families within nursing practice. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of self-confrontation techniques in family nursing based on studies published between 2021 and 2025. The findings indicate that self-confrontation can strengthen self-control, emotional stability, social skills, and adherence to positive behaviors, particularly when combined with self-reflection and muhasabah practices. In mental health nursing, the use of confrontation for hallucinations has been shown to reduce symptoms and improve reality orientation when supported by education, structured activities, and family involvement. The success of this technique is also strongly influenced by therapeutic communication that is empathetic and nonjudgmental. Evidence related to emotional intelligence and coping strategies further highlights that emotional regulation plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of self-confrontation. Overall, self-confrontation is effective in family nursing when applied professionally, at the appropriate time, and supported by a compassionate approach. This review provides a comprehensive understanding of the contribution of confrontation techniques to strengthening therapeutic communication and enhancing family adaptive functioning within nursing services.

Abstract

Symbolic-Experiential Family Therapy (SEFT) is a family therapy approach that emphasizes emotional experience, creativity, spontaneity, and the use of symbolic processes as the foundation for change within the family system. This approach views family conflict and dysfunction as consequences of barriers in emotional expression and ineffective communication patterns, directing the therapeutic process toward reopening authentic expression and strengthening emotional connections among family members. This study aims to examine various family therapy interventions and holistic psychological approaches that effectively improve adolescent mental health, particularly for those experiencing emotional trauma and unstable family relationships. Data collection in this literature review was conducted through several databases, namely PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. After a selection process based on predetermined inclusion criteria, 10 articles were identified as suitable for analysis, eight of which were from Google Scholar. All selected articles were then systematically analyzed to obtain relevant findings. The results indicate that therapeutic approaches such as Symbolic-Experiential Family TherapY have been shown to reduce anxiety, improve communication, decrease family conflict, and restore emotional closeness. Additional findings show that active family involvement, including through telehealth services, enhances treatment adherence, motivation, and long-term recovery success. In conclusion, holistic family-based interventions that integrate emotional, symbolic, spiritual, creative, and structural components are more effective in helping adolescents recover from trauma and achieve emotional stability. The family plays a crucial role as the primary support system, making their involvement in the therapeutic process a key factor for successful outcomes.

Abstract

This research examines various aspects of stress and resilience in individuals and families in the contexts of mental health, education, and work environment through psychosocial interventions and theoretical frameworks of adaptation. The Current Experience Scale (CES) resilience measurement model developed alongside the Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (SMART-3RP) intervention demonstrates effectiveness in enhancing adaptive capacity to chronic stress and psychometric validity of the measure. Interventions involving deep breathing relaxation and dhikr using the Roy Adaptation Model approach significantly reduce anxiety in elderly hypertensive patients through neuroendocrine stimulation that activates calming hormones. Other studies affirm the role of optimism and self-adjustment as protective factors reducing academic stress in students during online learning and highlight the efficacy of resilience training based on relaxation and cognitive-behavioral techniques in academic stress management. The Family Resilience Enhancement Program (FREP) has been proven to improve the quality of life for families with special needs children by strengthening family resources and offering counseling guidance. Adaptation and validation of the Parental Stress Scale in Indonesia identify two main dimensions of parental stress fitting the collectivist cultural context. Work environment and personal characteristics significantly influence employee work stress, where adaptive ability serves as a crucial moderator mitigating negative stress impacts. The Stuart stress adaptation model emphasizes the importance of coping mechanisms and holistic adaptive responses in psychiatric nursing care. These findings underline the essential role of adaptation and resilience interventions across different fields to enhance mental health, psychological well-being, and adaptive functioning of individuals and families.

Abstract

This community service study describes the optimization of a public information service chatbot in Gebang Putih Urban Village, Surabaya. The previous Telegram-based chatbot relied on command-based interaction, requiring citizens to type specific keywords and read long messages, which likely increased interaction cost. The study aims to transform the chatbot into button-based interaction and redesign its information architecture so that services are organized hierarchically and presented in shorter steps. A descriptive qualitative research and development (R&D) approach is applied at the development and internal validation stage. Service content is aligned with the official SSWALFA portal and the Surabaya Dukcapil website, and implemented using the low-code platform ManyChat. The resulting chatbot features more structured interaction flows, with clearer service categories, requirements, and procedures. These design improvements are expected to reduce interaction cost and enhance the potential usability of the chatbot.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) is a fundamental component in protecting workers from risks that may threaten their safety, health, and productivity. Across various community aggregates both in formal sectors such as industry and healthcare facilities, and informal sectors such as workshops, home industries, and tourism communities the level of hazards and risks varies widely, requiring specific prevention strategies. This literature review aims to analyze the relationship between community aggregate characteristics and the effectiveness of risk prevention strategies within the context of occupational health. The study employs a systematic literature review of articles published between 2023 and 2025 that discuss occupational risk exposure, safety management, and promotive and preventive interventions. The findings indicate that each community group has different needs in identifying and controlling risks. In the informal sector, OSH education, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and community-based interventions have been shown to increase hazard awareness and reduce workplace accidents. In the formal sector, analytical methods such as HIRARC, FMEA, and HAZOP help identify risks in a structured manner and determine control priorities, particularly for ergonomic, mechanical, biological, and chemical hazards. The review also highlights that the success of OSH interventions is strongly influenced by active worker participation, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), continuous supervision, and management support. Overall, a comprehensive understanding of community aggregate characteristics is essential for designing more targeted, collaborative, and sustainable risk prevention strategies to improve occupational health and safety.

Abstract

Limited internet service quality remains a major challenge in community-based RT/RW Net networks that rely on copper cables, mainly due to their vulnerability to lightning strikes and technical disturbances. This condition affects educational activities, religious services, and community-based economic activities, including home-based micro-enterprises and digital religious outreach. This community service program aims to modernize network infrastructure through the implementation of fiber optic technology that provides higher stability, safety, and sustainability, while strengthening local capacity in network management through technical and managerial training for youth groups. The implementation stages include coordination with community partners, deployment of fiber optic networks, network planning simulation using OptiSystem to ensure optical attenuation remains within safe limits, training on RT/RW Net management supported by cloud-based documentation systems, and hands-on training on fiber optic installation and MikroTik router configuration. The results show that the fiber optic network has been successfully implemented and currently serves 11 households and one mosque that regularly utilizes internet access for weekly live-streamed religious lectures. From a technical perspective, the fiber optic infrastructure improves network stability and reduces the risk of equipment damage caused by lightning. From social and economic perspective, reliable internet access supports distance learning, digital religious activities, and the operation of home-based micro-enterprises. The active involvement of local youth in installation and training activities enhances local technical capacity and contributes to the sustainability of the RT/RW Net system. This program demonstrates that fiber optic deployment combined with community empowerment can serve as an effective model for community-based digital infrastructure development.
