Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of human resource management (HR) training on increasing volunteer effectiveness and job satisfaction in social organizations. Social organizations often face challenges in maximizing volunteer contributions due to a lack of structured management and adequate training. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest experimental design in two groups, namely the experimental group that received training and the control group that did not receive training. The training provided includes time management, communication skills, conflict management, and teamwork development, which is designed to improve the competence of volunteers in supporting organizational goals. The study respondents consisted of 20 volunteers who were active in several social organizations, with data collected through work effectiveness and job satisfaction questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using independent statistical tests to identify significant differences between the two groups. The results showed that HR management training significantly increased volunteer work effectiveness by 30% and job satisfaction by 22% (p < 0.05). Volunteers who participated in the training reported improved ability to complete tasks, built positive interpersonal relationships, and felt more valued in the organization.

Abstract

Traditional markets have an important role in the local economy, including in the Pinang Bangkok Market, which is the center of the community's trade activities. However, stall owners in this market face various challenges, such as competition with modern retail, limited capital, and lack of managerial and marketing skills. This study aims to analyze the empowerment strategy of stall owners to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of their business. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that empowerment can be carried out through business management training, access to capital, marketing digitalization, and the formation of a community of traders as a forum for sharing experiences and capacity building. In addition, the role of the government and related parties in providing supportive regulations and adequate infrastructure is also an important factor in the success of empowering kiosk owners. In conclusion, empowerment based on strengthening individual and collective capacity can improve the business sustainability of stall owners in the Bangkok Pinang Market.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a community-based economic empowerment model through a social entrepreneurship approach as a sustainable rural development strategy. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of economic inequality and low independence of rural communities due to dependence on external assistance. The social entrepreneurship approach is seen as able to be an innovative solution because it combines social values with entrepreneurial principles that are oriented towards economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The research method used was mixed methods with an exploratory stage to explore local potential, followed by the implementation of a community-based participatory model in three pilot villages. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and quantitative surveys that were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of the study show that the implementation of community-based social entrepreneurship significantly increases economic capacity, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability of rural communities. The model developed focuses on collaboration between local governments, microfinance institutions, and community groups in building a fair and inclusive economic value chain. In addition, this model succeeds in fostering a spirit of social entrepreneurship that is oriented towards collective well-being, not just financial gain. These findings confirm that community-based economic empowerment through social entrepreneurship can be a strategic framework to strengthen rural economic resilience and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

Community engagement projects play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive and sustainable development, yet their social and economic impacts are often difficult to quantify systematically. This study aims to develop a comprehensive framework for measuring the multidimensional impacts of community engagement initiatives, integrating both qualitative and quantitative indicators. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from various community development programs across urban and rural areas through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. The proposed framework evaluates four key dimensions: social capital enhancement, economic empowerment, participatory governance, and long-term sustainability. Findings reveal that projects emphasizing co-creation, local ownership, and capacity building demonstrate higher social cohesion and more durable economic benefits. Moreover, integrating participatory evaluation tools within project cycles increases transparency, accountability, and community trust. The study contributes to the field of sustainable development by providing a replicable and adaptable impact assessment model applicable across diverse socio-economic contexts. This framework not only guides policymakers and practitioners in designing more effective community engagement programs but also ensures that interventions generate measurable and sustainable outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste is an increasingly complex environmental issue due to the increasing consumption of single-use plastics and the low level of community-based management. This study aims to analyze the use of plastic waste as a creative economy product through a community-based recycling approach, a sustainable solution that integrates environmental, social, and economic aspects. This approach positions the community as the primary actor in the waste management process, from sorting and processing to the creation of economically valuable products, thereby encouraging active participation and increasing environmental awareness. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving field observations, in-depth interviews with community actors, and analysis of documentation related to community-based recycling activities. The results show that utilizing plastic waste through the creative economy not only reduces the volume of plastic waste but also has a positive impact on increasing community income, strengthening social capacity, and fostering local economic independence. The resulting products possess aesthetic and functional value that is competitive in the local market. The study's conclusions confirm that the community-based recycling approach is an effective and sustainable strategy for managing plastic waste while simultaneously encouraging the development of the community's creative economy. Therefore, policy support, ongoing mentoring, and collaboration between the government, academia, and the private sector are needed to expand the implementation of this model as part of environmentally conscious development and community empowerment.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in boosting economic growth, but they still face various challenges in financial management, particularly related to transaction recording, financial planning, and the use of digital technology. This community service program aims to improve the digital-based financial management capacity of MSMEs to strengthen their economic competitiveness. The program implementation method includes identifying partner needs, simple financial management training, mentoring in the use of digital financial recording applications, and evaluating the implementation of business financial management systems. Participants were MSMEs in the target area who have limitations in implementing technology-based financial management. The results of the program showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in systematic financial recording, separating business and personal finances, and preparing simple financial reports using digital applications. In addition, business owners began to be able to utilize financial data for business planning and economic decision-making. This program also resulted in increased business management efficiency and opened up market expansion opportunities through integration with digital platforms. Therefore, strengthening digital-based financial management capacity is a crucial strategy in supporting business sustainability and increasing community economic competitiveness. This program is recommended to be continued through ongoing mentoring to ensure the consistent implementation of digital financial management in MSMEs

Abstract

Abstract The low level of legal literacy in rural communities often leads to various social problems, such as inter-resident conflicts, rights violations, and low community participation in the village development process. This community service program aims to improve community understanding of the rights and obligations of citizens through participatory and applicable legal outreach activities. The implementation method includes identifying community needs, developing outreach materials, and implementing legal education through interactive lectures, group discussions, and simple case simulations relevant to village life. The activities also include the distribution of educational modules as a medium for continuous learning. Evaluation of the activities was carried out through pre- and post-tests to measure improvements in participant understanding, as well as participatory observation during the activities. The results of the activities showed an increase in community understanding of the rights and obligations of citizens, particularly regarding compliance with the law, conflict resolution through deliberation, and awareness of the importance of participation in village development. In addition, the community demonstrated increased awareness in accessing legal services and government administration correctly. This program has had a positive impact on increasing legal awareness and strengthening the relationship between the community and village officials in creating an orderly and harmonious social order. Thus, a village-based legal counseling program can be an effective legal empowerment model to improve the quality of social life in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Micro-enterprises in rural areas play a vital role in supporting the local economy, yet they still face various challenges in production and financial management, resulting in low productivity. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of micro-enterprises through production and financial management training to encourage increased productivity and business sustainability in rural areas. The program implemented a participatory approach, encompassing partner needs identification, production management training, financial record keeping, and direct mentoring for implementing business management within participating businesses. The training materials covered production planning, product quality control, raw material efficiency, production cost recording, and the preparation of simple financial reports. The results demonstrated an increase in participants' understanding of how to plan production processes more efficiently and their ability to systematically record their business finances. Furthermore, entrepreneurs began to be able to control production costs and improve product quality, resulting in increased production volume and revenue. This program also fostered awareness among entrepreneurs about the importance of professional business management to maintain business sustainability amidst increasingly competitive markets. Thus, production and financial management training is an effective strategy for increasing the productivity of rural micro-enterprises while strengthening the local economy. It is recommended that this program be continued through ongoing mentoring to ensure consistent implementation of business management practices.
