Abstract

This study aims to describe the speaking proficiency level of students using the picture series. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design. The population in this study are Ummi Maryam’s students of Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School, with a sample of 10 university-level students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a speaking test based on a series of pictures titled "The Monkey and The Crocodile." Student performance was assessed using Brown's speaking assessment rubric having scale score 1-5, including five aspects: pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. The results of the study show that the students' average score is 72.8%, placing their speaking proficiency in the average category. Specifically, 3 students (30%) fall into the good category, 5 students (50%) into the average category, and 2 students (20%) into the poor category. The findings revealed that picture series is effective in stimulating fluency and comprehension (highest score 40), helping students maintain logical flow without significant pauses. However, grammar remains the weakest aspect (lowest score 31), marked by inconsistent use of tenses. The low standard deviation value (7.00) indicates that speaking ability among students tends to be homogeneous, which suggests that picture series provides a stable and consistent influence in helping students organize their thoughts. This study concludes that although picture series is a powerful tool for improving confidence and speaking fluency, further emphasis on grammatical accuracy and vocabulary variation is needed to achieve a higher level of proficiency.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Congestive heart failure (CHF) merupakan kondisi jantung dalam memompa darah secara efektif sehingga menyebabkan penumpukan cairan, slaah satunya edema paru yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan pernapasan. Kondisi ini memerlukan penatalaksanaan medis dan keperawatan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan status respirasi pasien. Salah satu intervensi nonfarmakologis yang dapat diberikan adalah teknik pernafasan pursed lips breathing untuk membatu meningkatkan ventilasi dan menurukan sesak nafas. Tujuan : menganalisis penerapan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien dengan gangguan sistem kardiovaskular akibat congestive heart failure (CHF) yang ditandai dengan edema paru melalui intervensi fisioterapi pursed lips breathing. Metode : metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan proses keperawatan yang meliputi pengkajian, diagnosa keperawatan, perencanaan, implementasi dan evaluasi pada pasien Ny. T di ruang ICU RSUD Lembang tahun 2026. Pengumpulan data dilakukan mellaui observasi, wawancara, pemeriksaan fisik, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil : penerapan intervensi menunjukan adanya perbaukan kondisi respirasi pasien yang ditandai dengan penurunan keluhan sesak napas, peningktanan saturasi oksigen, serta perbaikan pola pernafasan setelah dilakukan latihan pursed lips breathin. Kesimpulan : intervensi pursed lips breathing dapat memabtu meningkatkan fungsi pernapasan pada pasien CHF yang mengalami edema paru sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai salah Satu intervensi keperawatan dalam mengatasi gangguan pola nafas.

Abstract

Purpose. This study aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership, work culture, and internal communication on employee performance at PT. Anugerah Manajemen Abadi in Batam City. In organizational management, employee performance represents an important indicator of productivity and service effectiveness. Leadership style, organizational values, and communication practices within the workplace are considered key factors that shape employees’ motivation, commitment, and work outcomes. Transformational leadership encourages employees to perform beyond expectations through inspiration and support, while work culture provides shared norms that guide employee behavior. In addition, effective internal communication facilitates coordination and understanding among employees. Understanding the role of these factors is therefore essential for improving employee performance and organizational effectiveness. Materials and methods. This study employed a quantitative explanatory research design using a survey method. The population consisted of all employees working at PT. Anugerah Manajemen Abadi, totaling 40 individuals. Because the population size was relatively small, a saturated sampling technique was applied in which all employees were included as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale to measure each research variable. Prior to hypothesis testing, the research instrument was evaluated through validity and reliability tests to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the measurement. Classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, were conducted to confirm that the regression model met the required statistical assumptions. Multiple linear regression analysis was then used to examine the influence of the independent variables on employee performance through t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). Results. The findings indicate that transformational leadership has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance (Sig.=0.000). Internal communication also shows a positive and significant influence on employee performance (Sig.=0.003). In contrast, work culture does not demonstrate a statistically significant effect on employee performance (Sig.=0.924). The simultaneous test shows that transformational leadership, work culture, and internal communication collectively have a significant influence on employee performance (F-test Sig.=0.000). The regression model demonstrates a strong relationship between the variables with a coefficient of determination showing that approximately 80.4% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by the independent variables included in the model. Conclusions. The results of this study highlight the importance of transformational leadership and effective internal communication in improving employee performance within organizations. Although work culture did not show a significant influence in this research, leadership practices and communication systems remain essential factors that shape employees’ productivity and work outcomes. Strengthening leadership strategies that motivate employees and developing transparent communication processes are therefore important steps for enhancing employee performance and supporting organizational success.

Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) pada ibu hamil merupakan masalah gizi yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan ibu dan janin. KEK dapat meningkatkan risiko komplikasi kehamilan, persalinan prematur, serta bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian KEK pada ibu hamil. Penelitian menggunakan desain analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 100 ibu hamil yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling di wilayah kerja Puskesmas X. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara menggunakan kuesioner serta pengukuran Lingkar Lengan Atas (LILA). Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan (p = 0,012), pendapatan keluarga (p = 0,008), dan pola konsumsi makanan (p = 0,001) berhubungan signifikan dengan kejadian KEK pada ibu hamil. Disimpulkan bahwa faktor sosial ekonomi dan pola konsumsi makanan berperan penting terhadap kejadian KEK pada ibu hamil.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Fear of childbirth (FoC) pada ibu hamil primipara dapat mengganggu kesiapan persalinan, meningkatkan kecenderungan memilih tindakan operatif tanpa indikasi medis, serta berdampak pada pengalaman persalinan yang kurang positif. Pendekatan nonfarmakologis yang menekankan regulasi emosi, self-kindness, mindfulness, dan common humanity semakin relevan dalam layanan kebidanan berbasis bukti.Tujuan: Menganalisis efektivitas intervensi self-compassion oleh bidan terhadap penurunan fear of childbirth pada ibu hamil primipara. Metode: Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai quasi-experimental pretest-posttest with control group. Responden terdiri atas 30 ibu hamil primipara pada kelompok intervensi dan 30 ibu hamil primipara pada kelompok kontrol yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Intervensi diberikan oleh bidan selama 6 sesi dalam kurun 6 minggu. Outcome utama adalah skor FoC menggunakan W-DEQ-A, sedangkan outcome sekunder adalah skor self-compassion menggunakan SCS-SF. Analisis menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney dan independent t-test pada tingkat kemaknaan p<0,05. Hasil: Skor FoC kelompok intervensi menurun dari 74,53±11,28 menjadi 52,17±10,94, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol berubah dari 73,80±10,75 menjadi 70,43±11,62. Perbedaan perubahan antar-kelompok menunjukkan bermakna secara statistik dengan nilai p=0,001. Skor self-compassion pada kelompok intervensi meningkat dari 20,33±4,61 menjadi 27,87±4,38. Kesimpulan: Intervensi self-compassion oleh bidan efektif dalam menurunkan fear of childbirth pada ibu hamil primipara dan berpotensi menjadi strategi psikososial terintegrasi dalam pelayanan antenatal.

Abstract

Purpose. This study aims to analyze the effect of innovative behavior, skills, and communication on the academic achievement of Management Study Program students in Batam City. Academic achievement represents an important indicator of students’ learning outcomes and reflects their ability to understand and apply knowledge gained during the educational process. Various individual competencies may contribute to students’ academic performance, including their capacity to generate innovative ideas, develop learning-related skills, and communicate effectively in academic environments. Innovative behavior encourages students to explore creative approaches in solving academic problems, while skills support students in managing learning activities and academic responsibilities. Communication competence also facilitates interaction, discussion, and collaboration in the learning process. Therefore, understanding the role of these factors is important for improving students’ academic achievement in higher education. Materials and methods. This study employed a quantitative explanatory research design using a survey method. The population consisted of Management Study Program students in Batam City, with a total sample of 98 respondents selected for the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measured with a five-point Likert scale. The research instrument was first tested for validity and reliability to ensure accurate and consistent measurements. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26. Several statistical procedures were applied, including classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing was carried out using t-tests to determine partial effects, an F-test to examine the simultaneous influence of the independent variables, and the coefficient of determination (R²) to evaluate the explanatory power of the regression model. Results. The findings show that innovative behavior has a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ academic achievement (Sig.=0.000). Skills also demonstrate a positive and significant influence on academic achievement (Sig.=0.002). In contrast, communication does not show a statistically significant effect on academic achievement (Sig.=0.137). The simultaneous analysis indicates that innovative behavior, skills, and communication collectively have a significant influence on academic achievement (F-test Sig.=0.000). The regression model also shows a high explanatory power with a coefficient of determination (R² = 0.921), indicating that approximately 92.1% of the variation in students’ academic achievement can be explained by the independent variables included in the model. Conclusions. The results highlight the importance of innovative behavior and learning-related skills in improving students’ academic achievement. Although communication did not demonstrate a significant effect in this study, it remains an important element that supports interaction and collaboration in academic environments. Higher education institutions are therefore encouraged to develop learning strategies that promote creativity, skill development, and active participation in order to enhance students’ academic performance.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diare merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang masih sering terjadi pada anak dan dapat menimbulkan komplikasi apabila tidak ditangani dengan tepat. Kemampuan orang tua dalam melakukan perawatan anak yang mengalami diare sangat penting untuk mencegah terjadinya dehidrasi dan komplikasi lanjutan. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah melalui pendidikan kesehatan dengan media audiovisual. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendidikan kesehatan dengan media audiovisual terhadap dependent care agency orang tua dalam penanganan diare anak di wilayah komunitas Puskesmas Ciwaruga. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain one group pretest–posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 88 orang tua dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dependent care agency dengan skala ordinal (tinggi, sedang, rendah). Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil: Dependent care agency sebelum intervensi sebagian besar responden berada pada kategori sedang (72,7%). Dependent Care Agency setelah intervensi, kategori sedang (52,3%) dan tinggi (47,7%). Uji statistik menunjukkan p-value 0,001 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Simpulan: Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendidikan kesehatan dengan media audiovisual efektif terhadap dependent care agency orang tua dalam penanganan diare anak

Abstract

This study aims to examine the preaching communication strategy of Yayasan Al-Ishlahiyah and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered by Yayasan Al-Ishlahiyah in implementing the preaching communication strategy to address the problem of school dropouts. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method using interviews, observations, and documentation techniques involving parties from Yayasan Al-Ishlahiyah. The results of this study indicate that the preaching communication strategy implemented by Yayasan Al-Ishlahiyah is an approach designed in a structured, directed, and comprehensive manner to respond to the issue of school dropouts. The supporting and inhibiting factors of the preaching communication strategy applied by Yayasan Al-Ishlahiyah in Desa Gaung Asam are characterized by a systematic, persuasive, and contextual approach in addressing the problem of children dropping out of school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze public services provided for elderly Hajj pilgrims and examine the level of satisfaction of elderly pilgrims toward the services at the South Sumatra Hajj Dormitory. Elderly pilgrims have specific needs that require special attention in service delivery, including accessibility, safety, and health facilities. Therefore, the quality of public services plays an important role in supporting the comfort and satisfaction of elderly pilgrims during their stay at the dormitory before departure to the holy land. Materials and methods. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants in this study consisted of the Manager of the Hajj Dormitory, Assistant Front Office Manager, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and elderly Hajj pilgrims of the 2025 group. Informants were selected using purposive sampling based on their involvement in providing and receiving services. The data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.Results. The results show that the quality of public services at the South Sumatra Hajj Dormitory has generally been implemented through five dimensions of service quality: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Services related to empathy, responsiveness, and assurance were perceived positively by elderly pilgrims, as officers were considered friendly, helpful, and responsive to their needs. However, some limitations were found in the tangible dimension, particularly regarding accessibility facilities such as the absence of elevators and limited elderly-friendly infrastructure.Conclusions. Overall, public services at the South Sumatra Hajj Dormitory have provided positive experiences for elderly pilgrims, especially in interpersonal service aspects. Nevertheless, improvements are still needed in physical facilities and accessibility to better support the mobility and comfort of elderly pilgrims and enhance overall service satisfaction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kualitas bacaan Al-Qur’an anak-anak di TPA Al-Imam As-Suyuthi akibat penggunaan metode yang tidak tepat yang hanya menekankan kelancaran dalam membaca. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan metode yang tepat dalam pengajaran Al-Qur'an kepada anak-anak, khususnya metode TARSANA, yang menggabungkan tiga aspek penting, yaitu tartil, sari', dan nagham, sehingga mereka dapat menyerap pelajaran dengan baik, meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka tentang aturan tajwid, dan meningkatkan kualitas bacaan Al-Qur'an anak-anak di TPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat peningkatan kualitas bacaan Al-Qur’an anak-anak setelah menerapkan metode TARSANA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental menggunakan desain pretest-posttest satu kelompok. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan tes serta dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data yang terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji t untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan SPSS Versi 26. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas bacaan Al-Qur'an anak-anak sebelum penerapan metode TARSANA memperoleh skor tinggi sebesar 86,7% dan skor rendah sebesar 14,3%. Setelah metode TARSANA diterapkan, hasilnya memperoleh skor tinggi dengan persentase 90,4% dan skor rendah dengan persentase 9,5%. Berdasarkan peningkatan persentase antara sebelum dan sesudah metode TARSANA diterapkan, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, terjadi peningkatan kualitas bacaan Al-Qur'an sebelum dan sesudah metode TARSANA diterapkan.
