Abstract

The lack of variety in Citizenship Education (PKN) learning is the main trigger for the lack of student involvement and enthusiasm in the learning process. This condition then has an impact on low academic achievement, as seen from the average class score that has not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study was designed to boost the learning achievement of Civic Education (PKN) subjects for grade IV students by utilizing interactive media in the form of snakes and ladders games. This study seeks to answer questions regarding the level of effectiveness of using interactive snakes and ladders media in boosting the Civic Education values ​​of grade IV students at MI Plus Bustanul Ulum. This study applies the Classroom Action Approach (CAR) which is carried out in two stages. This study involved 22 grade IV students as participants. Data were obtained through field observations, written assessments, and official records. The percentage of student learning completion increased significantly, from 45.45% in the pre-cycle stage to 77.27% in the first cycle, and finally reaching 81.81% in the second cycle. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of interactive snakes and ladders learning media is effective in improving learning outcomes in the Pancasila Education subject for grade IV students of MI Plus Bustanul Ulum.

Abstract

In the 21st century, it is necessary to update and improve learning methods for students. The problem-based learning method is a relevant and effective method to be applied in learning in basic education. This is then supported by basic critical thinking skills which focus students on being able to understand and find solutions to the learning problems found. The aim of this research is to describe and explain problem-based learning in an effort to improve 21st century critical thinking in basic education. The research method used is a literature study which explores information and data from various books, journals and articles related to the research which is then presented and analyzed according to the research objectives. The research results show that problem-based learning has a close relationship with the development of critical thinking skills. Through this learning, students are not only invited to think creatively and analytically, but also to solve problems collaboratively and effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilization of a reading corner in improving students’ reading interest at MI Miftahul Ulum Banyuputih Kidul. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and three students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source triangulation. The findings revealed that the utilization of the reading corner played an effective role in improving students’ reading interest. This was indicated by the increased enthusiasm of students in reading activities, their habit of using spare time for reading, and their active participation in reading habituation activities before the learning process began. This success was supported by an attractive reading corner design, a clean and comfortable environment, a diverse collection of books, as well as support from teachers and the principal in managing literacy programs. In addition to functioning as a literacy support facility, the reading corner was also utilized as an alternative learning resource and a medium for character building, such as discipline, responsibility, and independent learning habits. Therefore, the reading corner can be considered an effective literacy strategy in fostering a reading culture and improving the quality of learning in Islamic elementary school settings.

Abstract

The development of Islamic education in the modern era requires innovative learning models that integrate Islamic values with relevant and meaningful approaches for students. One such innovation is the implementation of the pesantren day program at MI Darul Ulum Medali as a pesantren-based learning model using a non-boarding system. This study aims to examine the implementation, effectiveness, and character values developed through the pesantren day program in strengthening Qur’anic memorization and student character formation. This research employed a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, supervising teachers, and students. The findings indicate that the pesantren day program has been systematically implemented since the odd semester of 2025 using the 5T framework, consisting of Taabbud, Talaqqi, Tahsin, Tahfidz, and Tajwid. The program was found to be effective in improving students’ fluency and accuracy in Qur’anic memorization, increasing their confidence in reciting memorization, and enhancing active participation in religious activities. Furthermore, the program contributed to positive character development, including discipline, independence, responsibility, politeness, and religiosity through continuous religious habituation and intensive teacher guidance. Therefore, the pesantren day program serves as a relevant and effective educational innovation in Islamic primary education by integrating Qur’anic memorization strengthening and character education in a holistic and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Digital television following Analog Switch Off implementation holds strategic potential as a medium for cultural literacy and character formation aligned with Pancasila Student Profile. This research examines content characteristics, stakeholder perceptions, effectiveness factors, and optimization strategies of digital television at SD Yapis An-Nur Sorong City using descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature review. Findings indicate digital television content is dominated by commercial entertainment programs with minimal educational content, limited cultural programs airing at non-strategic hours, and low stakeholder media literacy. Effectiveness factors include content quality, media literacy, infrastructure accessibility, and policy support. Optimization strategies encompass enhancing educational content with contextual edutainment approaches, developing comprehensive media literacy, systematic integration in active learning, and strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration to realize digital television as an educational instrument supporting cultural literacy and character formation of Indonesia's young generation.

Abstract

Madrasah Teacher Education (PGMI) plays a strategic role in shaping the pedagogical competence, personal character, and social sensitivity of prospective teachers who will directly engage with elementary-level students. However, teacher education curricula still tend to emphasize methodological and cognitive aspects, while affective dimensions Primary and gender awareness have not been systematically integrated. This article aims to examine, first, the conceptualization of a love-based curriculum grounded in gender equality within the context of Primary Madrasah Teacher Education. Second, it explores the genealogy of the idea of a love-based curriculum rooted in gender equality. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research design. Research data were obtained through a review of literature, including books, scholarly journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. Data collection was conducted through documentation study, while data analysis utilized conceptual analysis and historical (genealogical) analysis through stages of data reduction, concept categorization, critical interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that a love-based curriculum grounded in gender equality in MI teacher education is understood as a pedagogical framework that emphasizes compassion, empathy, justice, and respect for gender differences as the foundation for shaping teachers’ habitus. The genealogy of this idea can be traced from religious teachings on rahmah (compassion), humanistic thought, Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy, to contemporary feminism, which positions love as a practice of liberation. This article contributes to the discourse on teacher education by emphasizing the importance of integrating affective pedagogy and gender awareness into the PGMI curriculum.

Abstract

Islamic pedagogy is an approach based on Islamic values and should be applied in the learning process at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. In supporting student independence in learning, the application of Islamic pedagogy can be integrated through the Self-Directed Learning model. The purpose of this research is to describe how teachers foster this independence in the practice of Islamic pedagogy. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research location is at MIS Mambaul Hidayah Jember. The findings show that the forms of Islamic pedagogy applied by teachers in fostering independent learning include habit-forming activities both outside and inside the classroom. The emphasis on Islamic pedagogy is often found in habitual activities, such as attitudes when praying, performing salat, reading the Qur'an, and habitual manners, which indirectly instil discipline and responsibility in students. Findings in the classroom learning process include the assignment of tasks through worksheets, both in groups and individually. These findings also show that the application of Self-Directed Learning is not yet fully maximised due to obstacles such as differences in students' characteristics in understanding the material and a lack of learning support from parents. This research opens up space for insights into the application of Islamic pedagogy with the integration of the Self-Directed Learning model in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Emphasis on SDL model syntax with Islamic pedagogy could be an avenue for future research.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in primary schools continues to be a serious problem that threatens the psychological, social, and academic development of students. Data shows that Indonesia has a high rate of bullying, with primary schools contributing significantly to cases of violence in the educational environment. This condition highlights the urgency of reviewing character education models as a systematic and sustainable preventive approach. This study aims to analyse effective character education models in preventing bullying among primary school students through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The literature selection process was conducted using the PRISMA protocol by searching for scientific articles through Google Scholar indexed by SINTA, published between 2017 and 2025, and focusing on the Indonesian educational context. From the results of the gradual selection, ten articles that met the inclusion criteria were obtained and analysed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that effective character building models include instilling values, teacher role modelling, integrating character into the curriculum and extracurricular activities, and active collaboration between schools, families, and communities. Bullying in primary schools is multifactorial, with family factors, parenting patterns, and teacher consistency as the main determining variables. The conclusion of this study confirms that a holistic, structured character approach involving all stakeholders is the most optimal strategy for creating a safe, inclusive school ecosystem that is free from all forms of bullying.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the tasmi’ method in improving the quality of Qur’anic memorization among tahfidz program students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of tahfidz teachers and tahfidz program students at MIN 3 Jombang selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the implementation of the tasmi’ method was carried out through routine memorization recitation activities in front of teachers and peers, accompanied by repetition and direct feedback on recitation errors. The tasmi’ method contributed to improving students’ memorization quality, particularly in terms of fluency, tajwid accuracy, makharijul huruf mastery, and consistency of recitation. In addition, the method encouraged students to become more disciplined, confident, and active in tahfidz learning activities. However, the implementation of the tasmi’ method still encountered several challenges, such as differences in students’ basic abilities and limited instructional time. This study concludes that the tasmi’ method is an effective pedagogical strategy in supporting the improvement of Qur’anic memorization quality among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students through active, collaborative, and sustainable learning processes.

Abstract

Kemampuan berinteraksi secara sosial serta sikap kepedulian peserta didik merupakan aspek yang semakin penting untuk dikembangkan di tengah kondisi masyarakat modern yang cenderung individualistis dan dipengaruhi kemajuan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pelaksanaan kegiatan kepramukaan dalam menunjang pengembangan kemampuan sosial peserta didik serta kontribusi kegiatan kepramukaan dalam menumbuhkan sikap peduli peserta didik di SDN Wadungasri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data mengacu pada model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña yang meliputi tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan kepramukaan yang dirancang secara sistematis melalui program mingguan, bulanan, dan tahunan berperan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan sosial dan sikap kepedulian peserta didik. Internaliasi nilai-nilai Satya dan Darma Pramuka dilakukan melalui aktivitas kelompok, kegiatan kerja bakti, penjelajahan, serta berbagai pengalaman sosial lainnya. Peserta didik memperlihatkan perkembangan dalam aspek empati, rasa tanggung jawab sosial, serta kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan sesama. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan kepramukaan dapat dipandang sebagai salah satu strategi yang efektif dalam mendukung pendidikan karakter dan pembentukan sikap peduli sejak usia dini
