Abstract

Safety citizenship behavior (SCB) of the ship crew is essential to maritime safety. Therefore, using safety motivation as a mediating mechanism, this research attempts to understand and quantify the impact of safety leadership, social capital, and safety awareness on ship crew SCB. The study employs a causal design and survey methods in a quantitative manner. 120 crew members of passenger ships that were docked at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta made up the sample. A Likert scale questionnaire was utilized as the research tool for safety leadership, social capital, safety awareness, safety motivation, and SCB. Google Forms-formatted questionnaires were sent out by email and WhatsApp. Partial least squares (PLS)-based structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was used to analyze the data. The study's findings indicate that safety leadership, social capital, safety awareness, and safety motivation all have a significant impact on SCB; additionally, safety leadership, social capital, and safety awareness all have a significant impact on safety motivation, which in turn has a significant impact on SCB through safety motivation. These results validate the novelty of the safety leadership, social capital, and safety awareness mediation model's effect on the SCB of passenger ship crew through safety motivation.

Abstract

Accountability in village fund management remains a critical challenge in Indonesia, where issues such as mismanagement and lack of transparency persist. This study aims to explore the impact of competence, community participation, and the use of information technology on the accountability of village fund management, particularly examining whether information technology moderates these relationships. The research population includes village officials, the village consultative committee, and district apparatus in Karangawen District, Demak Regency. Using purposive sampling, 108 respondents were selected to provide primary data, which were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results show that competence and community participation significantly influence the accountability of village fund management. Competence improves decision-making and administrative transparency, while participation plays the most significant role by fostering accountability through inclusive planning and evaluation processes. Although the use of information technology positively affects accountability by enhancing transparency and accuracy in reporting, it does not act as a moderating variable in the relationship between competence or participation and accountability. This finding highlights the need for improved infrastructure, training, and tailored technological solutions for rural settings. The practical implications of this study include the importance of enhancing training programs to improve the competence of village officials, encouraging community participation through effective socialization, and optimizing the use of information technology. By addressing these factors, this research contributes to strengthening village fund governance and preventing irregularities in fund management in Indonesia.

Abstract

Safety behavior is crucial to reducing the potential for ship accidents. Therefore, the research focuses on investigating and finding an empirical model of the influence of safety competence and safety culture on crew safety behavior through safety awareness. The research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and causal design. The sample was 250 crew members. The research instrument used was a questionnaire designed as a Likert scale with five options for responses. The questionnaire was distributed in Google Form format via the WhatsApp application. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The research results show that safety competence, safety culture, and safety awareness have a significant effect on safety behavior; safety competence and safety culture have a significant effect on safety awareness; and safety competence and safety culture significantly affect safety behavior through safety awareness. These findings promote a new empirical model of the effect of safety competence and safety culture on crew safety behavior through safety awareness. This new model deserves critical discussion by researchers, academics, and practitioners before being adopted, adapted, or modified for their future work in the future.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the banking sector which affects financial performance, because financing is not running smoothly due to debtor arrears due to many people losing their jobs and having difficulty paying financing. The research aims to determine the differences in the financial performance of Islamic banks and conventional banks during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research also uses qualitative research with comparative descriptive objectives. The sample in this study consists of Shariah and conventional banks registered with the Financial Services Authority in 2020, totaling 62 banks, comprising 12 Shariah banks and 50 conventional banks. The analysis technique used is a difference test through independent sample t-test. The research results indicate that there is no difference in the financial performance of both Islamic and conventional banks. Financial performance, as assessed by CAR, NPL/NPF, and FDR/LDR ratios, still falls within the safe category, where banks can meet capital needs, maintain asset quality, and ensure bank liquidity during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, both Shariah and conventional banks have not been able to meet the BOPO and ROA ratio limits due to a decrease in bank income during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and faith of young Muslims. This study aims to understand portfolio assessment on Islamic religious learning in Islamic Senior High School after Covid-19 as an alternative to developing an authentic and holistic student portfolio assessment implementation model. Researchers analyze related to the implementation of portfolio assessments in Islamic religious learning conducted by Islamic religious teachers, and academic supervisors in Islamic Senior High School. This research uses qualitative research methods with a type of case study research with a constructivism paradigm. This study shows that the implementation of portfolio assessment in Islamic religious learning is carried out by organizing the assessment of the indicator stage, and the assessment of the artifact stage. Several problems were found in the implementation of portfolio assessment, namely (1) the formative indicator assessment stage; (2) the programmatic task assessment indicator stage; (3) the indicator stage of assessment of supporting activities; (4) the stage of attitude and personality assessment indicators; (5) the collection stage of the work; (6) the selection stage of the work; (7) the reflection stage of the work; (8) the exhibition stage (connection) of students' work, and (9) the problem of general aspects related to Madrasah management. Thus, portfolio assessment should interact with the learning process, both at the beginning and at the end of the assessment.
