Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) approach in contraceptive counseling training through role play for fourth-semester DIII Midwifery students in the Family Planning (KB) Services course. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 15 students as research participants. The research results show that students understand the TPACK concept well and see it as a practical approach to learning contraceptive counseling. Integrating technology, pedagogy, and content in learning is considered to help students understand the material better. Role play has proven effective in honing students' contraceptive counseling skills and increasing their confidence in facing real counseling situations. This research also identified several challenges, such as limited access to technology. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase technological support and sustainable development in implementing TPACK in health education. Overall, the TPACK approach has great potential in improving the quality of contraceptive counseling learning and preparing midwifery students to become competent counselors.

Abstract

Amid mounting concerns surrounding child welfare, particularly in Papua Province, this study urgently investigates the efficacy of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) in safeguarding this vulnerable demographic. With a primary objective to assess the protection measures for Papuan children aged 6-18, the research aims to elucidate their developmental trajectories and highlight the imperative for heightened protective interventions. Employing qualitative methods, data sourced from prominent media outlets including Kompas, Suara Papua, Jubi, Detik, and CNN are meticulously analyzed using the Nvivo 12 Plus Application. The findings starkly expose a pervasive lack of attention and security afforded to Papuan children by pertinent institutions, consequently exposing them to elevated social risks, such as alcoholism, promiscuity, and substance abuse. Notably, despite its designated mandate, the current role of KPAI appears inadequate, particularly in times of conflict, exacerbating the vulnerability of Papuan children and magnifying their potential as social liabilities. These findings underscore the exigent need for immediate and concerted efforts to rectify these systemic deficiencies and fortify the protective infrastructure for Papuan children, thereby ensuring their holistic well-being and thwarting potential social threats.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine whether farmers' satisfaction with the use of production factors contributes to the success of the Food Security System (SKP) and to identify which production factors most significantly influence farmers' satisfaction in supporting SKP. The research used a survey with Likert Scale data from 100 randomly selected rice farmers in Mattirobulu, Tiroang, Patampanua, and Duampanua districts, Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi. The regression analysis showed a coefficient of determination of 100%, meaning that farmer satisfaction (dependent variable) is fully explained by the production factors (independent variable) and is not significantly influenced by external factors such as pests, diseases, natural disasters, or environmental conditions. The results indicated that the production process was operating at decreasing returns to scale (RTS), implying inefficiency in the use of production factors. Notably, the high overhead costs in pharmaceuticals (factor 4) need to be reduced by improving three key variables: farmer's land, information technology, and credit capital. This can be achieved by increasing land rent or profit-sharing, adopting advanced technology, and enhancing capital access through banking credit to improve farmer satisfaction and support SKP in Pinrang Regency.

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating the yield and characteristics of liquid smoke obtained from palm kernel shell, mesocarp fiber, and oil palm frond biomass. The objective of the research is to determine both the percentage yield of liquid smoke produced per gram of palm oil solid waste and characterize the compounds present in the liquid smoke. Solid samples of palm oil waste components (shells, fibers, and fronds) were prepared and subjected to pyrolysis using Distillation Cyclone technology. Liquid smoke produced was then analyzed to determine the concentration of phenolic compounds. The study found that the yield of liquid smoke varied among different palm oil solid waste components, with a higher yield observed from oil palm shell biomass compared to others. Furthermore, the liquid smoke from all three biomass sources exhibited significant concentrations of phenolic compounds, indicating its potential as a natural pesticide ingredient. This research highlights the potential of utilizing palm oil solid waste for value-added products such as liquid smoke, contributing to waste management and sustainable agricultural practices. The findings provide insights for further research and development of eco-friendly pest control solutions utilizing liquid smoke-derived compounds.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of institutional ownership and financial leverage on firm value, with dividend policy serving as a mediating variable. The primary focus is to examine how dividend policy mediates the relationship between institutional ownership and firm value, as well as the effect of financial leverage on firm value. By using panel data regression models, the research incorporates purposive sampling, selecting 125 companies from a population of 902 firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2020-2023, resulting in a total of 500 observations. The findings reveal that institutional ownership has a significant and positive impact on firm value, while financial leverage does not have a notable effect. Additionally, while dividend policy positively influences firm value, it does not mediate the relationship between institutional ownership and firm value. However, dividend policy successfully mediates the effect of financial leverage on firm value. These results highlight the critical role of institutional ownership and effective dividend policies in enhancing firm value. Practically, the study underscores the importance of institutional investors' oversight and the need for transparent dividend policies. For managers, ensuring effective dividend distribution can serve as a signal to the market, while policymakers should consider strengthening regulatory frameworks to support transparency. The study contributes to the academic literature by providing insights into the dynamics of the Indonesian market.

Abstract

Public policy serves as a framework to address public needs and interests, including the regulation of community services. Recognizing the critical importance of public services, governments are motivated to improve service quality through effective public policy implementation. This study aims to analyze the role of public policies in enhancing specific aspects of service quality, such as transparency, accountability, and professionalism. Using qualitative research methods, this study employs a literature study approach with a systematic selection of relevant sources, including peer-reviewed journals, government reports, and policy documents. Data analysis follows three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject.  The findings indicate that public policies are instrumental in setting minimum service standards, promoting accountability and transparency, empowering communities, enhancing the professionalism of service apparatus, integrating technology into services, and enforcing compliance through penalties for providers failing to meet standards. These measures collectively contribute to significant improvements in service delivery. This research highlights the importance of policy design and implementation in fostering a responsive and efficient public service system. The findings provide actionable insights for policymakers to optimize public service frameworks and ensure community satisfaction.

Abstract

One of the key challenges for food and beverage marketers is how to effectively garner engagement with their content (e.g., liking, commenting, and sharing) in an effort to increase audience exposure on the platform and improve business performance. The purpose of this research is to find out the dominant methods, issues, and problems of social media. It can be said that the method used is quantitative, and the social media used is Facebook. Based on the results of the research, it is found that the problem or issue that occurs is that consumer engagement can improve relationships with consumers, which is realised in the form of consumer participation, which is the driving force behind online sales and brand success. This is the source of most of the problems that arise. This also means that companies using social media to promote their brands need to have a more intimate relationship with the people they want to reach, which is based on trust, social relationships, image, and identity on social media. Fulfilling a company's commitment to its customers is another important responsibility. This will build trust and confidence in customers, which in turn encourages them to participate more actively in a brand's social media activities.
