Abstract

The application of Lean Manufacturing has long been recognized as an effective method for increasing operational efficiency and reducing waste in the manufacturing industry. However, in production environments with high variability, there is still a gap in understanding the role of digital technology integration, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), in strengthening Lean implementation. This research aims to explore the impact of integrating AI and IoT within a Lean Manufacturing framework on operational efficiency and waste reduction, especially in diverse production conditions. Using a systematic literature review approach with the PRISMA method, data was collected from various international databases, including Scopus and IEEE Xplore. The research results show that the integration of AI and IoT can improve real-time error detection, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization more efficiently. These findings provide practical implications for industries facing high variability to adopt digital technologies to strengthen Lean strategies and drive sustainable competitiveness.

Abstract

The performance of Civil Servants (ASN) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of public services. Work motivation and work quality are often identified as key factors influencing ASN performance; However, many government agencies have yet to implement adequate policies to improve these aspects. The knowledge gap in understanding the influence of motivation and work quality on ASN performance in the public sector highlights the need for more in-depth research. This study employed a quantitative method using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and involved 42 ASN samples from the Department of Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Affairs in Kendari City. The findings indicate that both work motivation and work quality significantly impact ASN performance, providing valuable insights for human resource development policies in the public sector. These results offer local governments a foundation for designing effective strategies to enhance ASN performance and provide a theoretical basis for further research on performance determinants in public service sectors.

Abstract

The application of digital technology has brought significant changes in improving the efficiency of public services, including the transportation sector. In the ship licensing service, the Inaportnet System at the UPP Molawe Office is expected to facilitate a faster and more efficient administrative process. However, in its implementation, the system faces technical constraints, such as network instability and lack of user understanding, which hinder the achievement of optimal efficiency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with three informants who have a direct role in the management and implementation of the Inaportnet System. The results show that although Inaportnet has improved the efficiency of ship licensing services, some challenges such as network constraints and user literacy still need to be overcome to achieve full optimization. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving network infrastructure and continuous education for users to support the sustainability of digital services in the transportation sector.
