Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop ULTRA (Interactive Snakes and Ladders of Science) learning media that meets the criteria of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in science learning to improve student learning outcomes in ecosystem material in grade V of SDN 1 Suwawa. This study is a development research using the ADDIE development research model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility of ULTRA media was tested through validation by a team of experts. The validation results showed that this media obtained an average percentage of 96.87%, which was categorized as very feasible for use by teachers and students in elementary schools. To test practicality, the researcher used a teacher observation sheet, which showed a total score of 39 out of a maximum score of 40, with an average percentage of practicality reaching 97.5%, included in the very practical category. In terms of effectiveness, the application of media in grade V of SDN 1 Suwawa was measured through pretest and posttest. As a result, the average pretest score of 46.5% increased to 86% in the posttest, with a difference in increase of 39.5%. The level of effectiveness of ULTRA media based on calculations reached 73.55%, indicating that ULTRA media is included in the effective category. Based on these results, ULTRA media has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes and is suitable for use in elementary school learning

Abstract

The method used in this study is classroom action research. The subjects in this study were 15 fourth grade students of Gmit Kuanfatu Elementary School. The research instruments used were test questions and observation sheets. The data analysis technique of this study was descriptive analysis by calculating the value of individual absorption capacity, classical learning completeness, and percentage of classical absorption capacity. The results of the study indicate that the application of the STAD type Cooperative learning model can improve the learning achievement of fourth grade students of Gmit Kuanfatu Elementary School. This can be seen from the results of student activities and tests in the first cycle with an absorption percentage of 58% and learning completion of 15%, and in the second cycle it increased with an absorption percentage of 84.33% and learning completion of 100%. Some of the obstacles found in the implementation of this model include student activities in group activities that have not shown good cooperation, there are still members who are less active, and there are still students who have difficulty working on questions but are still passive.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of symbolic violence hidden behind the use of school uniforms at the elementary school level using Pierre Bourdieu's perspective, especially the concept of habitus in education. School uniforms, which are generally considered a tool to create equality and discipline, also turn out to be a medium of symbolic domination that reproduces social inequality. The approach to this research is a literature study with a descriptive-qualitative method, analyzing how school uniforms, as cultural symbols, contribute to the internalization of dominant values ​​by students. The results of the study indicate that school uniforms function as a device that strengthens the legitimacy of certain social norms, creating the illusion of equality among students. However, differences in socio-economic background remain visible through additional attributes, such as the quality of uniform materials, cleanliness, and accessories, which reflect the economic capital of students' families. This causes students from less dominant social groups to often feel inadequate or unequal, internalizing their subordinate positions. Educational institutions reinforce this symbolic violence through strict rules governing the use of uniforms, making symbolic domination seem natural and legitimate. This study emphasizes the importance of examining symbols in education, such as uniforms, which are often considered neutral but actually function as tools of domination. By understanding the symbolic violence behind school uniforms, it is hoped that a more equitable education system can be built, which not only creates formal uniformity but also embraces inclusivity and social justice.

Abstract

This research aims to analyses the role of teachers in managing student learning outcomes at SDN 8 Dungaliyo, Gorontalo. Using a qualitative and phenomenological approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, significantly contribute to the improvement of student learning outcomes. The use of formative and summative assessments helps teachers provide constructive feedback to enhance students' understanding. Furthermore, effective classroom management and a positive learning environment increase student engagement. Parental involvement and the utilization of technology also prove to be important in supporting the learning process. This study concludes that collaboration among teachers and a differentiated approach in identifying students' learning needs can enhance the quality of education. However, the challenges of managing diverse student abilities require special attention from educators to ensure that each student can achieve their maximum potential.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Ahaslides at SDN 5 Mootilango, Gorontalo, using the Research and Development (R&D) methodology. The development process follows the 4-D model, which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. In the define stage, the researcher identifies the needs for effective learning media. During the design stage, the researcher creates 20 slides covering the general definition of norms, religious norms, politeness, indecency, and law, as well as interactive videos and quizzes. The develop stage involves creating and testing the media to ensure its functionality, while the disseminate stage focuses on distributing and utilizing the media among teachers and students. Evaluation results indicate that this interactive learning media allows teachers to monitor student participation in real-time. From the feasibility validation conducted by three expert validators in the fields of content, media, and psychology, the Ahaslides media received an average score of 95.56%, indicating that it is highly suitable for use. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of interactive and effective teaching methods, offering innovative solutions to enhance student engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

Challenges such as corrosion and other deterioration phenomena can affect performance and disrupt bridge functionality. To address this need, a bridge management system is required to ensure optimal actions and strategies. Previous studies related to several condition assessment methods have been widely used, an in-depth review will be discussed in this paper. A comparison will be made to see the advantages and disadvantages. Three methods are reviewed and examined, the data used to determine the final condition is the result of visual inspection. BMS Indonesia uses a hierarchical system that still causes bias in its assessment. BHI uses condition state in its application, while BCR uses condition rating to determine the final value. BCR and BHI have advantages in assigning element importance weights, while BMS is good at considering each element's damage. Element importance weights are good to use in determining bridge condition values because they prioritize damage to crucial elements in the calculation. However, damage that occurs to supporting elements also needs to be considered because it can cause more serious damage if not treated further.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of teachers in enhancing student learning motivation at SDN 9 Kwandang, Gorontalo Utara Regency. Teachers are responsible not only for delivering lesson material but also for building students' character and motivation. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that teachers at SDN 9 Kwandang play a crucial role in creating a positive learning environment through creative and interactive teaching methods. They also provide emotional and academic support to students and relate lesson material to students' everyday lives to enhance the relevance of learning. The involvement of parents in the educational process is also identified as an important factor influencing students' learning motivation. These findings indicate that by understanding and applying appropriate strategies, teachers can significantly enhance students' learning motivation, which in turn contributes to better academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the EDUCARD (Education Uno Card) learning media that meets the criteria of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in Civic Education (PKn) to improve student learning outcomes on the meaning and values of Pancasila in grade IV at SDN 13 Tilamuta. This research is a development study using the ADDIE development research model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility of the EDUCARD media was tested through validation by a team of experts. The validation results indicate that this media received an average percentage of 96.80%, categorized as very feasible for use by teachers and students in elementary schools. To test practicality, the researcher used a teacher observation sheet, which showed a total score of 39 out of a maximum score of 40, with an average practicality percentage reaching 97.5%, falling into the very practical category. In terms of effectiveness, the application of the media in grade IV at SDN 13 Tilamuta was measured through pretest and posttest scores. The results showed that the average pretest score of 42.27% increased to 83.63% in the posttest, with a difference of improvement of 48.2%. The effectiveness level of the EDUCARD media, based on calculations, reached 70.40%, indicating that the EDUCARD media is categorized as effective. Based on these results, the EDUCARD media has been proven effective in improving student learning outcomes and is suitable for use in elementary school learning.

Abstract

This study develops Moraya learning media (Cultural Diversity Monopoly) for fourth-grade students at SDN 5 Kwandang, Gorontalo. The background of this research is the difficulties students face in understanding cultural diversity material due to the minimal use of concrete-based media. Using the ADDIE development model, this research includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The Moraya media is designed to combine elements of the classic Monopoly game with interactive learning material, allowing students to explore and understand various aspects of Indonesian culture. The validation results indicate that this media is very feasible to use, with an average score of 99.30%. A limited trial on 14 students showed a significant improvement in student understanding, with the average pre-test score rising from 32.85% to 85.71% on the post-test, and an N-Gain Score of 0.78 indicating the medium's effectiveness. Observations during implementation showed that students were very enthusiastic and able to collaborate, creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. The Moraya media not only enhances students' understanding of cultural diversity but also instills values of tolerance and mutual respect. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 5 sekolah dasar. Dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dengan pretest-posttest control group, penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang menerima pembelajaran berbasis STEM dan kelompok kontrol yang diajar dengan metode konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes berpikir kritis, observasi, dan wawancara dengan guru serta siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam lingkungan pembelajaran berbasis STEM mengalami peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan berpikir kritis, terutama dalam menganalisis masalah, mengevaluasi informasi, dan merancang solusi inovatif. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan keterlibatan dan motivasi yang lebih tinggi dalam mengeksplorasi konsep-konsep IPA. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi STEM dalam pendidikan IPA di sekolah dasar berdampak positif terhadap perkembangan kognitif siswa serta membekali mereka dengan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang penting. Oleh karena itu, pendidik didorong untuk menerapkan strategi berbasis STEM guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA.
