Abstract

This research is motivated by the unsatisfactory learning outcomes of arts and culture subject at SMP Negeri 1 Botumoito. This issue is due to the lack of students' understanding and skills in learning theater arts. Based on interviews conducted with the arts and culture subject's teacher (Mirnawati Bolio, S.Pd, September 2023), students' lack of interest in theater art is caused by limited knowledge and low confidence in performing it publicly. Therefore, the researcher is motivated to conduct research at the school. This research uses the Direct Instructions method, where the researcher teaches directly or demonstrates theater performances in front of the class, focusing on the theme of "orang-orang miskin" (the poor). This research aims to describe the process of learning to express poetry in theatrical form in the extracurricular theater group at SMP Negeri 1 Botumoito. The research employs a qualitative research method and the data are collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment instruments. The population comprises 7th and 8th-grade students interested in theater extracurricular activities, totaling 8 students, consisting of 4 male and 4 female students. All participants are selected as samples due to their lack of prior theater experience

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between emotion regulation and Fear of Missing Out among Generation Z TikTok users in Yogyakarta. Fear of Missing Out emerges as a psychological response to intensive social media use and is characterized by a strong desire to remain continuously connected to online social activities. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants were Generation Z individuals who actively use TikTok and reside in Yogyakarta, with data collected through an online questionnaire measuring emotion regulation and Fear of Missing Out. Data analysis was conducted to identify the association between the two research variables. The results indicate that there is no significant relationship between emotion regulation and Fear of Missing Out among Generation Z TikTok users in Yogyakarta. These findings suggest that individuals’ ability to regulate emotions is not associated with the level of Fear of Missing Out they experience. Therefore, Fear of Missing Out among Generation Z TikTok users may be influenced by other factors beyond emotion regulation, such as individual characteristics or patterns of social media use. This study implies that understanding Fear of Missing Out requires consideration of additional variables relevant to the social media context of Generation Z

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The phenomenon of labor migration, particularly by Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), creates a dual impact on families: economic improvement versus psychosocial vulnerability in children left behind (Left-Behind Children - LBC). The parental absence triggers changes in parenting patterns, family disharmony, and developmental challenges for LBC across various regions in Indonesia. Objective: To identify, map, and synthesize various factors affecting the growth and development of PMI children in Indonesia, and to identify policy gaps and documented forms of intervention. Methods: This review synthesizes data from 20 articles published between 2017 and 2025. The articles include quantitative studies, qualitative studies, mixed-methods, systematic reviews, and case studies focusing on LBC and their caregivers. Results: The review found that migration creates multidimensional vulnerabilities: 1) Mental Well-being: LBC are at a higher risk of emotional problems, hyperactivity, and behavioral problems. They report higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression due to the disruption of emotional bonds. However, social support is proven to be positive and significant for the children's subjective well-being. 2) Physical Health: Migration does not significantly affect serious diseases but increases the incidence of minor ailments, especially in children left behind by the father. Children with working parents tend to have a higher prevalence of developmental deviations. 3) Education: LBC tend to have lower cognitive scores, interest, and academic achievement compared to non-migrants due to the lack of attention from core parents and suboptimal parenting patterns. 4) Parenting and Family: Childcare shifts to extended family (relatives) who implement democratic or permissive parenting styles. However, the absence of core parents causes family disharmony and increases the LBC's vulnerability to criminal influences such as brawling and premarital sex. Conclusion: The negative impact of migration on LBC in Indonesia is comprehensive, covering physical, psychological, and academic aspects. Integrated interventions are required, including strengthening the capacity of alternative caregivers, enhancing effective communication, and specific government policy support to protect the basic rights of LBC.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder often characterized by hallucinations, particularly auditory hallucinations, which can disrupt patients’ social, emotional, and cognitive functioning. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of psychoreligious interventions as a complementary intervention for reducing the intensity of hallucinations in individuals with schizophrenia. Article searches were conducted through four major databases: Scopus, ScienceDirect, EBSCO, and Google Scholar, using keywords related to hallucinations, schizophrenia, and psychoreligious intervention, resulting in three articles that met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that psychoreligious interventions such as dhikr, prayer, and Qur’anic healing can provide calming effects, reduce anxiety, improve focus, and help patients redirect their attention away from hallucinatory voices. These religious interventions were also shown to enhance patients’ ability to control and interpret their hallucinatory experiences. Furthermore, positive spiritual practices may reduce emotional distress, whereas negative religious coping can exacerbate symptoms. Overall, psychoreligious intervention is considered an effective, simple, and culturally appropriate complementary approach in managing hallucinations among individuals with schizophrenia.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) are a common disease in Indonesia, particularly among children, who are at risk of off-label drug prescribing due to limited pediatric efficacy and safety data. Off-label use includes off-label age, dose, indication, and route of administration. This observational, cross-sectional study aimed to describe the pattern of off-label drug use in ARI patients at the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Hospital. Medical records of outpatients diagnosed with ARI between January and December 2022 were reviewed, with 80 patients meeting the inclusion criteria. The results showed that 27% of ARI prescriptions involved off-label use, exclusively in the off-label age category, with salbutamol being the most frequently prescribed off-label drug. This finding indicates a considerable rate of off-label drug use in ARI management, highlighting the need for collaboration between pharmacists and physicians to monitor such use. Further research is recommended to identify the risk factors and correlations associated with off-label prescribing for ARIs.

Abstract

The demand for rhizomes (empon-empon) is increasing along with public awareness of health and the use of herbal ingredients. Indonesia boasts numerous varieties of rhizomes, each with unique properties that can be used in traditional herbal medicines. These plants can be planted as monocultures in open fields or intercropped under perennial crops (agroforestry). This research aims to identify the types of rhizomes available, to understand the appropriate cultivation methods for these plants, and to motivate farmers to cultivate rhizomes in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).This resulted in the production of high-quality herbal plants that could be accepted in the herbal medicine industry. The research was conducted using a descriptive method, namely by inventorying, identifying, and assessing several types of existing herbal plants. Observations were conducted on 15 farmer samples divided into three hamlets. The results showed that the majority of Pare Village residents still knew and owned herbal plants, such as ginger, turmeric, and galangal, grown in dry fields without observing proper cultivation methods or GAP (Growth Approach). There was no processing of these herbal plants, so training on processing them was needed to increase the income of farming families.
