Abstract

Herbal medicine for muscle and joint pain is a traditional medicine widely used by the public to help reduce muscle and joint pain. However, the potential addition of chemical drugs (BKO), such as paracetamol, is still a concern because it can pose health risks if consumed without supervision. This study aims to identify the presence of paracetamol in herbal medicine samples using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. The research samples consisted of several herbal medicine preparations obtained from the market and were analyzed qualitatively by comparing the characteristics of sample spots to the paracetamol reference standard based on the retention factor (Rf) value and visualization under 254 nm UV light. The analysis results showed that the Rf value of the paracetamol standard in the test system used was within a certain range, while the analyzed herbal medicine samples did not show spots that were parallel to the reference standard. Based on these results, all tested samples were declared negative for the presence of paracetamol. This study shows that the TLC method can be used for the initial identification of the presence of paracetamol in herbal medicine samples in the scope of the qualitative testing conducted.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Effective Tax Rate (ETR) on the profitability of Consumer Non-Cyclicals companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2022–2024 period. The study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the companies' annual reports and financial statements. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of Consumer Non-Cyclicals companies listed consecutively on the IDX during the study period, publishing complete financial reports, and having the data necessary to measure the research variables. The independent variable in this study is the Effective Tax Rate (ETR), which is calculated by comparing the tax burden with profit before tax, while the dependent variable is profitability, measured using Net Profit Margin (NPM). Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression to test the effect of ETR on company profitability. The results showed that ETR had a significant effect on profitability with a significance value of 0.007 (<0.05) and a t-test value of 2.766. The direction of the effect indicates that an increase in ETR tends to be followed by a decrease in company profitability, because a larger tax burden can reduce the company's net profit. This finding shows that tax burden management is one of the factors that companies need to pay attention to in maintaining profitability levels

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of interpersonal communication in building relationships between business owners and consumers and its contribution to consumer loyalty to the Serahinke.aku Bouquet brand. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method. The research subjects consisted of business owners and consumers of Serahinke.aku Bouquet who were selected based on their involvement in the communication and transaction process. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations of digital interactions, and documentation of communication on social media and instant messaging applications. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Joseph A. DeVito's five dimensions of interpersonal communication play a role in building consumer loyalty. Openness builds trust through clear information, empathy strengthens understanding of consumer needs, support creates responsive service, a positive attitude builds comfortable interactions, and equality strengthens personal relationships between business owners and consumers. The application of these five dimensions contributes to consumer loyalty demonstrated through repeat purchases and recommendations. This study provides practical implications for the development of digital-based creative business communication strategies

Abstract

The rapid expansion of the internet in rural areas presents both opportunities and challenges for Generation Z, necessitating parental involvement in fostering positive internet usage habits. This study aims to describe the level of parental effort in shaping positive internet usage habits among Generation Z in Balimbingan Village, Tanah Jawa District. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving a population of 778 families and a sample of 89 parents selected via simple random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire comprising 27 valid items and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that the level of parental effort falls into the "moderate" category, with an average score of 50.3%. Regarding specific indicators, parent-child communication scored the highest (56%), followed by the regulation of internet usage time (50%), parental role modeling (49%), and supervision of internet usage (46.3%). These findings suggest that while parents are aware of the need to guide internet usage, implementation remains suboptimal due to constraints such as limited time, digital literacy, and easy internet access. The study concludes that there is a need to strengthen digital literacy and implement digital parenting education programs to enhance the effectiveness of parental guidance in fostering positive internet usage habits among Generation Z

Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational video on preventing child marriage, assess the feasibility of the media, and test its effectiveness in improving students' knowledge. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The media effectiveness test used a one-group pretest-posttest design on 86 students of grades VIII and IX of UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Bola selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a needs analysis questionnaire, expert validation sheets, pretest-posttest knowledge tests, interviews, and evaluation questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively, while media effectiveness was analyzed using a Paired Sample t-test. The results showed that the educational video obtained a very feasible category based on expert assessment with a feasibility level of 96.5% for the material aspect and an average of 86.5% for the media aspect. The average student knowledge score increased from 3.51 in the pretest to 4.43 in the posttest, and the results of the Paired Sample t-test showed a significant difference (p=0.001). These findings indicate that the educational video developed not only meets the eligibility criteria but also contributes to increasing students' knowledge about preventing child marriage. This medium has the potential to be used as an alternative educational tool in schools to support child marriage prevention efforts

Abstract

The transition to college presents new students with various academic and social demands that can potentially increase stress levels and hinder the adaptation process. Academic resilience is a crucial factor in helping students navigate these challenges, but empirical findings on the factors influencing it are scattered across studies. This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence on the factors influencing new students' academic resilience. The study employed a literature review with thematic content analysis of nine empirical studies obtained from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus databases. Articles were selected through a screening process based on inclusion criteria: empirical research published between 2016 and 2026, discussing new students' academic resilience, available in full text, and relevant to the research objectives. Articles that did not meet these criteria were excluded from the analysis. The study's findings indicate that academic resilience is influenced by internal factors, such as self-efficacy, emotional regulation, optimism, self-determination, and social intelligence, as well as external factors such as support from family, lecturers or mentors, and peers. These findings confirm that strengthening personal factors and social support is an important strategy for increasing the academic resilience of new students, while also providing a basis for universities to design mentoring programs and academic services that support successful studies in the first year

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the ease of interaction for users with motor disabilities on the Grab application using Fitts' Law and Task-Based Performance methods. The study applied a quantitative approach involving 35 people with motor disabilities at LKS Sahabat Kita in Tulungagung Regency as respondents. Data were collected through observation, measuring task completion times, recording success and error rates, and analyzed using Fitts' Law to measure interaction difficulty and Task-Based Performance to evaluate interface effectiveness. The results showed that the Grab application has a low level of interaction difficulty with an Index of Difficulty (ID) value of 1.36–2.00. This finding is supported by a high task completion success rate (85.71%–100%) and a relatively short task completion time, indicating that most application features can be operated well by users with motor disabilities. However, several interface elements were still found to potentially hinder interaction and therefore require improvements to improve accessibility. This study contributes as an empirical basis for the development of application interfaces that are more inclusive and user-friendly for users with motor disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Quality Family Village (Kampung KB) program through the Prosperous Family Income Enhancement Effort (UPPKS) in Lerep Village, as well as to identify obstacles in its execution. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and document analysis. Research informants included program implementers and community members involved in UPPKS activities, while data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate that the program has been implemented effectively, contributing to community economic empowerment through the development of local potential-based enterprises. Program success was facilitated by effective communication, resource availability, the commitment of both implementers and the community, and a clear division of tasks, all of which helped enhance business skills and independence. However, challenges remain, including limited capital and production facilities, suboptimal marketing, and uneven community participation. Improvement efforts have been pursued through training, mentoring, digital promotion, MSME exhibitions, and cross-sector collaboration. These findings underscore that the program's success depends not only on the execution of activities but also on resource support, coordination, and sustained mentoring.

Abstract

Research on livestock farmer empowerment generally focuses on financing or mentoring aspects separately, while studies explaining the role of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as institutions that integrate capital, marketing, and mentoring functions are still limited. This study aims to analyze the role of the Insan Kamil Islamic Boarding School in empowering sheep farmers through the Dombastis Program in Nganjuk Regency. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis assisted by NVivo 12. The results show that Islamic boarding schools perform three integrated roles: as intermediaries that facilitate access to sharia financing without physical collateral, offtakers that guarantee the absorption of livestock products, thereby reducing livestock farmers' dependence on middlemen, and mentors who provide technical guidance and spiritual strengthening. The integration of these three roles has proven capable of simultaneously overcoming obstacles in access to capital, marketing, and managerial capacity of livestock farmers. These findings expand the study of Islamic boarding school-based economic empowerment by showing that Islamic boarding schools function not only as religious educational institutions but also as socio-economic institutions that build a sustainable ecosystem for empowering smallholder farmers.
