Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of cash turnover, Total Asset Turnover (TATO), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and firm size on Return on Assets (ROA) for property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. The study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from annual financial reports. The sample consists of 29 companies selected via purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 145 observations. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS, following descriptive statistical analysis and classical assumption testing. The results indicate that cash turnover, TATO, and firm size have a significant effect on ROA, whereas DER does not. The research model yielded an Adjusted R² value of 0.584, indicating that 58.4% of the variation in ROA can be explained by the variables under study. These findings suggest that enhancing asset utilization efficiency, cash management, and firm scale are crucial factors in boosting the profitability of property and real estate companies.

Abstract

Day-old layer chicks (DOCs) possess suboptimal thermoregulatory capabilities, necessitating stable temperatures within the brooder to support growth. Uneven temperature distribution resulting from conventional heating systems can induce thermal stress and inhibit chick growth. This study aimed to analyze the impact of horizontal versus zig-zag heating lamp configurations on temperature distribution and to evaluate the performance of an Arduino Uno-based automatic temperature control system. An experimental approach was employed using a 2 m × 1 m × 1 m brooding enclosure equipped with DHT22 sensors, a relay module, and four 5-watt incandescent lamps. Measurements were taken at five observation points over a two-week brooding period, with temperature setpoints of 32–33°C for the first week and 30–31°C for the second week. The results demonstrated that the Arduino Uno-based control system successfully maintained temperatures within the specified ranges, achieving a response time of 2–5 seconds. The zig-zag configuration yielded more uniform temperature distribution than the horizontal configuration—particularly in areas distant from the heat source—maintaining a temperature gradient of less than 1°C. Consequently, the zig-zag configuration proved more effective at minimizing temperature unevenness within the layer chick brooder.

Abstract

Math word problems (MWPs) are essential for developing the reasoning skills of elementary school students; however, manual creation is time-consuming and results in limited problem variety. This study aims to design, implement, and evaluate a Large Language Model (LLM)-based math word problem generator that aligns with the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) and produces valid, solvable problems in Indonesian. The system was developed using LLaMA 3.2 3B Instruct via QLoRA fine-tuning with 4-bit NormalFloat quantization, trained on a dataset of 3,185 entries covering 19 topics and 6 grade levels. The system generated 385 problems across 77 grade-topic combinations and was evaluated against a sample of 95 problems through assessments by three elementary school teachers and the G-Eval metric. Evaluation results indicate that 93 out of 95 problems met validity criteria (97.89%), with an average quality score of 4.95 out of 5.00. A comparison of the two evaluation methods revealed a Pearson correlation of 0.94 and a Cohen’s Kappa of 1.00. These findings demonstrate the system's potential as a tool to assist teachers in generating math word problems that align with the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial factor in maintaining the quality of regional banking services. This study aims to analyze the impact of job satisfaction and loyalty on the performance of Bank Bahteramas Konawe employees, both individually and simultaneously. The study employs an explanatory quantitative approach using a census method involving 35 employees. Data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS 27. The results indicate that job satisfaction and loyalty simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Individually, job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact on employee performance, while loyalty also exerts a positive and significant influence, contributing more strongly than job satisfaction. An R² value of 89.8% indicates that job satisfaction and loyalty collectively explain 89.8% of the variation in employee performance, with the remainder explained by factors outside the model. These findings demonstrate that the simultaneous management of job satisfaction and loyalty is a vital aspect of supporting employee performance in regional banking

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of industrial relations mediators in dispute resolution, as well as the factors facilitating or hindering the mediation process at the Manpower and Transmigration Agency of Kolaka Regency. A descriptive qualitative design was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving informants selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that mediators do not merely facilitate communication but actively guide the mediation process by clarifying labor regulations, maintaining neutrality, managing negotiations, and ensuring procedural fairness until the parties reach a voluntary agreement. The findings reveal that smooth mediation is more readily achieved when mediator competence is supported by effective communication, a command of regulations, and relatively balanced information between the parties. Conversely, the process tends to encounter obstacles when parties display defensiveness, possess limited understanding of their rights and obligations, or when there are time constraints and disparities in human resource competence. These findings demonstrate that mediation is an interaction involving mediator capacity, party readiness, and institutional support; thus, the effectiveness of mediation is determined not only by the mediator's abilities but also by the conditions and level of engagement of the parties involved in the dispute resolution process.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of work ability, training, and work communication on employee performance at the Land Office of South Konawe Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a saturated sampling technique involving 35 employees. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that work ability, training, and work communication simultaneously exert a positive and significant influence on employee performance (F = 78.543; p < 0.001; R² = 0.884). Individually, training emerged as the strongest predictor (B = 0.864; p < 0.001), followed by work ability (B = 0.159; p = 0.003) and work communication (B = 0.122; p = 0.032). These findings demonstrate that employee performance in the context of land services is closely linked to relevant training, the ability to execute tasks, and effective internal communication. Therefore, prioritizing job-specific training is essential, alongside enhancing competence and ensuring clear, timely internal communication.

Abstract

Employee performance in automotive service firms depends not only on formal organizational arrangements but also on the quality of the work environment experienced by employees. This study examines the effects of organizational style and work environment on employee performance at PT Kendari Berlian Motor, Southeast Sulawesi. A quantitative associative design was applied using a census of 45 employees. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression. The results show that organizational style and work environment jointly have a significant effect on employee performance (F = 381.041, p < .001), explaining 94.8% of performance variance. However, organizational style does not have a significant partial effect (B = 0.038, t = 1.244, p = .220), while work environment has a strong positive and significant effect (B = 0.762, t = 26.516, p < .001). These findings indicate that a supportive, safe, comfortable, and socially enabling work environment is a more immediate driver of employee performance than formal organizational style in a relatively young automotive service organization.

Abstract

Internal oversight is essential for strengthening accountability and good governance in local government. This study analyzes the role of the Kendari City Inspectorate in supervising local governance and supporting the implementation of good governance principles. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through interviews, observation, and document review. Three informants were purposively selected based on their involvement and knowledge of internal supervision. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Inspectorate has conducted audits, reviews, evaluations, and monitoring, but its contribution to good governance remains uneven. Public participation and transparency are limited, auditor capacity affects responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency are not optimal, and the follow-up of supervisory recommendations remains inconsistent. Strengthening institutional capacity, transparency, responsiveness, and recommendation follow-up is therefore necessary.
