Abstract

This research aims to describe the form of persuasive language in the text of katobba pallappassang 'Eid sermon' in Gowa Regency, and revealing persuasive techniques in the text of the katobba pallapassang 'Eid sermon' in Gowa Regency. The method was designed using descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study comes from 2 texts of katobba pallappassang 'Eid sermon', 1 text katobba pallappassang rumallang 'Eid al-Fitr sermon', and 1 text of the katobba pallappassang hajj 'Eid al-Adha sermon' obtained from a religious figure named Muh. Ramli, S.Pd.I., Dg. Laja. Data collection was carried out using copy, read and note techniques. The results of the research show that, (1) 4 applications of persuasive form were found, namely persuasive form of invitation, persuasive form of affirmation, persuasive form of advice, and persuasive form of prohibition. (2) 4 applications of persuasive techniques were found, namely association persuasive techniques, integration persuasive techniques, pay off & fear arousing persuasive techniques, and icing persuasive techniques. The application of persuasive forms and techniques is carried out to influence the communicant or congregation so that the desired persuasion goals can be achieved.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to describe students' perceptions of teacher imperative speech in teaching and learning interactions in Indonesian at SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa. The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques using questionnaires. The population in this study was all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa as many as 331 students, while the sample was 60 students. The research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires in hardcopy form to students. The results of the accumulation state that the indicator of attention is on the "positive" criterion with a percentage of 85%. On the indicators of student learning motivation, it meets the criteria of "very positive" with a percentage of 88%. On the indicator of teaching methods of teachers meet the criteria of "very positive" with a percentage of 86%. Meanwhile, the overall accumulated results stated that students' perceptions of teacher imperative speech were on the "very positive" criterion with a percentage of 86%. Based on these results, it was concluded that students of SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa have a very positive perception of teacher imperative speech in teaching and learning interactions Indonesian.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is the form of code switching and code mixing between sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. This research aims to describe the forms of code switching and code mixing from Makassar language to Bugis language of sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. This type of research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research design. The subjects in this research were sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district. The data in this research is in the form of oral data in the form of words, clauses and sentences containing code switching and code mixing from Makassar language to Bugis language sourced from sources, namely sellers and buyers at the Pa'jukukang fish auction, Bantaeng district, which was taken while the conversation process was in progress. Data collection was carried out using recording, listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this research show that there are three forms of code switching at the Bantaeng district fish auction, namely inter-sentence consisting of three data, intra-sentence consisting of three data, and code switching in tags consisting of three data. There are two forms of code mixing, namely the insertion of elements in the form of words consisting of three data and the insertion of elements in the form of phrases consisting of three data.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency. This type of research is a type of quantitative research. The population of this study were all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency, totaling 141 students. Determining the sample in this research used Krejcie Morgan's theory with a sample of 103 students. Data collection in this research was carried out using test techniques on research samples. All the data obtained was analyzed through several stages: 1) making a list of raw scores, 2) making frequency distributions and raw scores, 3) calculating the scores obtained by students, 4) calculating the average value of students, 5) classifying students' skills based on the references provided determined. The results of this research show that class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Mappakasunggu, Takalar Regency are categorized as capable in learning to write narrative essays in Makassar language using learning video media as seen from the grades and percentage of students who got a score of 75-100, namely 79 people (77%) from 103 samples and has reached the specified criteria, namely 75% of the sample getting 75 and above is categorized as capable.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of ability of class XII IPS students at SMA Negeri 7 Pinrang in differentiating standard vocabulary from non-standard vocabulary. This type of research is quantitative research using a research design based on statistical procedures. The population of this study were all students of class XII IPS at SMAN 7 Pinrang, consisting of three classes with a total of 104 people. The sample for this research was 34 students from class XII IPS. The sample was selected using Random Sampling Technique. Data collection was carried out using test techniques with the form of objective tests. The results of data analysis show that students' mastery in answering questions with standard vocabulary and non-standard vocabulary is 53% in the poor category. Therefore, class XII IPS students at SMA Negeri 7 Pinrang are categorized as less able to differentiate standard vocabulary from non-standard vocabulary based on the KBBI.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Symbolic Meaning of Appabbajikang bunting in the Makassar Traditional Wedding Procession in Pattallikang Village, Gowa Regency. This research aims to describe the icons, indices and symbols contained in the process of implementing appabbajikang bunting in Pattallikang village, Gowa Regency in terms of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. This type of research is qualitative with a qualitative descriptive research design. The methods used in collecting data for this research were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that in the process of implementing the appabbajikang bunting tradition in Pattallikang village, Gowa Regency it has the meaning of (1) icons, namely tai bani and doek. (2) the meaning of the index, namely dupa, nipaasori lipak, and nisioi na sisioi kanrejawa. (3) the meaning of the symbols, namely jajjakkang, umba-umba, tai bani, doek, kanrejawa lapisik, lawarak kadea, kanrejawa sirikaya, songkolok palopok, jeknek inung, lekok kalomping, lipak. In general, the meaning contained in the tradition of the appabbajikang bunting procession in Pattallikang village, Gowa Regency is to unite the bride and groom, obtain abundant fortune, and have a prosperous household life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of Pappasang ponggawa, reveal the meaning of Pappasang ponggawa and reveal the moral values contained in Pappasang ponggawa in fishing communities. This research is a qualitative study, using a qualitative descriptive design, which focuses on the form, meaning, and value of Pappasang ponggawa, obtained from ponggawa in South Galesong District through observation, interviews, and recording. The research instruments consisted of researchers, recorders, notebooks, and interview guidelines. The results revealed that the form of Pappasang ponggawa in the fishing community in South Galesong District, Takalar Regency, is a form of dialogue, pamali, and doangang which contains lexical, contextual, and connotative meanings. The moral values in the Pappasang are individual, social, and religious moral values

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study which aims to describe the influence of using the quantum reading method on reading interest in learning to read fable texts in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 10 Makassar. The research method used in this research is pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design research design. Data collection techniques are in the form of tests which are divided into pretest and posttest. The population of this study were all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 10 Makassar and samples were taken using a random sampling system technique. The samples taken were 32 (class VIII D) from a total of 165 students. Data analysis carried out in this research was descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of conversational implicatures in the novel "A Man Who Leaves the House" by Phutut EA. Type of descriptive qualitative research. The data source is the speech of the characters in the novel. Data collection techniques in this research are reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The research results revealed that there were 5 general conversational implicatures, 5 specific conversational implicatures, and 10 themed conversational implicatures in the novel "Seorang Laki-laki yang Keluar dari Rumah" by Phutut EA.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form and function of character education values in drama scripts. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, the source of data from the drama script. The form of data is in the form of phrases, sentences, and quotations in drama scripts in Indonesian language textbooks. Data collection techniques are note-taking and reading techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used Miles and Huberman data analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the form of character education values in drama texts in Indonesian textbooks are religious character education values, nationalism, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation. The function of character education values found in drama texts in Indonesian language textbooks is to develop the character of students to become human beings who have faith and devotion to God Almighty, have noble character, have democratic principles, develop positive attitudes, strengthen and develop ethical and moral values, develop a sense of leadership, improve the quality of life, have knowledge, and overcome challenges and difficulties.
