Abstract

Unplanned pregnancy among adolescents is a complex issue influenced by limited access to reproductive health education and adolescent-friendly contraceptive services. This phenomenon has multidimensional impacts, including increased risk of health complications, school dropout, and social stigma that hinders adolescent well-being. The role of midwives is crucial in bridging the gap in information and access to reproductive health services. Evidence-based reproductive health education has been shown to be effective in improving adolescents' understanding of their sexual and reproductive rights. However, the implementation of this program still faces challenges in the form of cultural resistance, lack of training for health workers, and social stigma that hinders open discussion. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to analyze the role of midwives in preventing adolescent pregnancy. The results of the study show that cross-sector collaboration and the use of digital technology can increase the effectiveness of reproductive health education. However, challenges such as misinformation and weak digital regulations must be addressed by strengthening digital literacy and content monitoring. With the right strategy, midwives can play a more optimal role in providing inclusive and evidence-based services, so that adolescents are able to make responsible decisions regarding their reproductive health.

Abstract

Pregnancy presents both physical and psychological challenges for women. High stress levels and lack of confidence in facing labor can negatively impact maternal and fetal well-being. Prenatal massage is recognized as a non-pharmacological intervention that helps reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and enhance maternal confidence. This study analyzes the effect of prenatal massage on stress reduction and confidence levels in pregnant women using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Scientific articles from PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar were reviewed, with inclusion criteria focusing on studies published in the last five years. The analysis revealed that prenatal massage significantly reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels and increasing endorphins, promoting relaxation. Additionally, it enhances psychological well-being and provides emotional support, contributing to greater confidence in facing labor. The findings suggest that prenatal massage offers substantial benefits in reducing stress and increasing maternal confidence before childbirth. Therefore, it can be recommended as part of prenatal care to support the mental and emotional health of pregnant women.

Abstract

Irregular work shifts in the health care system can have a significant impact on the physical and mental health of nurses. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the experience of nurses in facing the challenges of shift work. A total of 30 nurses with at least two years of experience in night and rotation shifts were selected as participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The results showed that changes in circadian rhythm due to shift work had an impact on sleep quality, increasing the risk of fatigue, cognitive impairment, and work errors. In addition, nurses with poor sleep patterns are more prone to metabolic problems such as obesity and diabetes, as well as psychological disorders such as stress and depression. High workloads and a lack of balance between work time and rest contribute to increased burnout rates, which ultimately decreases job satisfaction as well as the quality of health care. Nurses develop individual coping strategies, such as sleep pattern setting, relaxation techniques, and healthy eating, and rely on social support from colleagues and family. Adaptive institutional policies, such as more humane shift rotation and shift duration restrictions, are needed to maintain a balance between nurses' work and personal lives. With a more flexible and healthy work system, the welfare of health workers can be improved, so that the quality of service to patients remains optimal.

Abstract

Chronic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart failure and COPD, are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia, putting a strain on the health system and patients' quality of life. Continuous monitoring and effective management are essential, but are often constrained by limited access to healthcare services. Mobile-based health technology, or Mobile Health (mHealth), offers an innovative solution to improve monitoring of patients with chronic diseases, allowing patients to self-monitor their conditions and interact with medical personnel virtually. Despite its great potential, the implementation of mHealth faces challenges such as limited digital infrastructure, access gaps, as well as low digital literacy of patients, especially the elderly and those with low education. To address these challenges, a SWOT analysis was used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by this technology. The strengths of mHealth lie in real-time monitoring efficiency and accessibility, while the weaknesses lie in infrastructure dependency and potential inequality of access. Opportunities for mHealth development are promising, but face threats such as weak regulations and data misuse. The implementation of mHealth requires comprehensive policies, strict regulations, and continuous education to be effective in improving the quality of chronic disease monitoring in Indonesia

Abstract

Women's reproductive health is a crucial issue that significantly affects their overall quality of life and well-being. However, stigma surrounding reproductive health often limits access to essential information and services. This study aims to explore various strategies to overcome stigma and enhance awareness of women's reproductive health using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. By analyzing relevant literature, this study identifies key methods, including community-based education, media campaigns, and engagement with health professionals, as effective in reducing stigma and improving public understanding of reproductive health issues. These strategies help create a more informed society, enabling women to make better health decisions. Furthermore, collaboration between policymakers, healthcare providers, and community organizations plays a vital role in ensuring sustainable interventions. Strengthening public education programs and integrating reproductive health discussions into broader health initiatives can further support stigma reduction. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive, evidence-based approaches to enhance access to reproductive health services and information. Implementing these strategies can contribute to increased public awareness, improved healthcare accessibility for women, and ultimately, a better quality of life. This study underscores the importance of continued advocacy and policy support to address barriers and promote reproductive health as a fundamental aspect of women's well-being.

Abstract

Lack of awareness and education on reproductive health among adolescents is a significant challenge, especially due to limited accurate information and strong social stigma. Social media and digital technology offer great potential in improving adolescents’ understanding of reproductive health through wider access to information and engaging educational formats. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have become primary sources for adolescents in seeking information related to sexual and reproductive health. However, the main problem that arises is the rampant misinformation that can form erroneous understandings. Low digital literacy makes it difficult for many adolescents to distinguish between valid information and hoaxes. To overcome this, an evidence-based approach is needed by involving health workers in content production and stricter regulation of information on social media. In addition, the development of interactive health applications can be an effective solution to provide access to credible information and create a safe discussion space for adolescents. Collaboration between the government, health institutions, and social media platforms is an important step in increasing the validity of the information disseminated. With the right strategy, social media can be an effective educational tool in building awareness of reproductive health among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the negative impacts of instant food consumption on children's health. Instant food is often consumed because of its ease of preparation, but its nutritional content is not balanced. The method used is a review of literature studies from various health journals, nutrition articles, and reports from international health organizations such as WHO. The literature reviewed focuses on the impact of instant food consumption on children's physical and mental health. The results of the study show that instant foods that are high in salt, sugar, fat, and preservatives can cause various health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cognitive development disorders. In addition, high levels of sodium and trans fat in instant foods can affect the body's metabolic function, increasing the risk of chronic diseases later in life. Lack of fiber intake in instant foods also contributes to digestive problems and lack of essential nutrients for children. Therefore, it is important for parents to be more selective in choosing the food consumed by children. Reducing the consumption of instant foods and replacing them with more nutritious foods is very necessary to support optimal child growth and development

Abstract

Excessive use of gadgets in children has become an increasingly worrying issue in the digital era, especially because of its impact on physical, mental, and social health. Physically, excessive screen exposure can cause sleep disorders, progressive myopia, digital eye strain, and increase the risk of obesity due to a sedentary lifestyle. In addition, poor posture during gadget use contributes to musculoskeletal disorders such as neck and back pain. Mentally and socially, gadget dependence is associated with increased anxiety, depression, and attention disorders due to reduced direct social interaction and exposure to inappropriate digital content. The phenomenon of cyberbullying and social comparison in digital media can also lower children's self-esteem. To overcome these negative impacts, parental supervision and stricter regulation of gadget use are needed. Strategies such as limiting screen time, creating gadget-free areas, and encouraging alternative activities are important steps in balancing the use of technology. On the other hand, if used wisely, gadgets can be an effective learning tool. Therefore, a balanced and collaborative approach between families, schools, and governments is needed so that children can take advantage of technology without sacrificing their health and well-being
