Abstract

Inadequate community competence in managing environmental health remains a pressing issue across many regions, including Indonesia. This challenge underscores the critical need for comprehensive insights into how health education can play a pivotal role in empowering communities. This research delves into an in-depth systematic literature review, aiming to dissect and assess diverse strategies employed in health education programs to boost the efficiency of environmental health management initiatives. Utilizing the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study adheres to the framework provided by PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The process encompasses key phases: defining precise research inquiries, determining rigorous inclusion and exclusion parameters, and executing an extensive literature search through prominent academic databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus. The search leveraged specific keywords, including "Community Health Education," "Competency in Environmental Health Management," and "Impactful Health Education Programs." From an initial pool of 239 publications, only 25 articles satisfied the stringent screening criteria. The consolidated findings reveal that health education models that are systematically designed, foster active community involvement, and are tailored to local needs significantly enhance public awareness, shape positive attitudes, and develop practical skills for environmental health management. These insights offer actionable strategies to refine and strengthen health education programs across diverse settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between health literacy and compliance management of diabetes mellitus in patients at Puskesmas Koni, Jambi. High health literacy is expected to improve patients ' understanding of the importance of diabetes management, which in turn can improve adherence to medication, diet, exercise, and routine controls. This study uses a cross-sectional analytical survey design with 170 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires that measured levels of health literacy and diabetes management compliance. The results of the analysis showed a significant relationship between the level of health literacy with diabetes management compliance, where patients with better health literacy tend to be more compliant with the treatment and management of their diabetes. These findings suggest that improving health literacy could be an effective strategy to improve patient compliance in diabetes management in health centers.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and summarize the findings from studies related to the effects of butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea L.) on human health, particularly those related to their therapeutic properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and relaxing effects. The research method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This approach was chosen because of its ability to systematically identify, evaluate, and summarize relevant research results on butterfly pea flowers. Article searches were conducted through academic databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, focusing on studies that discuss the effects of butterfly pea flowers on human health. Based on the analysis results of various existing studies, butterfly pea flowers show great potential in supporting human health. The content of bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, anthocyanins, and alkaloids, provides various significant therapeutic benefits. Flavonoids and anthocyanins have strong antioxidant properties, play a role in fighting free radicals, and preventing oxidative damage that can cause degenerative diseases. In addition, these compounds have anti-inflammatory effects that are beneficial in managing inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and heart disease. Butterfly pea flowers also show neuroprotective effects that can protect nerve cells, improve cognitive function, and protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Alkaloids in butterfly pea flowers also have a relaxing effect that can help reduce anxiety and stress, and improve mental well-being. Although the results obtained are very promising, most studies are still limited to laboratory or animal trials, and further research, especially clinical trials in humans, is needed to confirm their effectiveness, proper dosage, and long-term safety.

Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls is a significant global health problem, with a high prevalence in developing countries, including Indonesia, and can adversely affect physical, mental health, and academic performance. This study aims to analyze the role of families in preventing anemia in adolescent girls through health education and evaluate the effectiveness of family-based interventions. The method used was a systematic literature review by collecting data from various relevant scientific articles published in the last 10 years. The results showed that family involvement, especially mothers, in educating about the importance of consuming iron-rich foods and monitoring iron supplements proved effective in reducing the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls. Intervention programs that involve families in nutrition education also show increased awareness and changes in healthier eating habits. However, challenges such as economic limitations, culture, and parents' education level are still barriers that need to be overcome. The implication of this study is the need to develop more comprehensive and family-based anemia prevention programs, as well as policies that support access to nutritious foods and iron supplements. Collaboration between the health, education and government sectors is essential to create a supportive environment for sustainable anemia prevention efforts.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between a healthy diet and the level of work productivity among office workers. With increasing awareness of the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet, this study examines how a diet that includes proper intake of nutrients, such as iron, relates to worker performance. Data obtained from 210 respondents showed that workers who eat a healthy diet tend to have higher work productivity compared to those who do not maintain a good diet. The study also highlighted the importance of workplace health support in improving productivity, with workers who felt supported by company policies reporting lower levels of fatigue and stress. Based on these findings, companies are advised to introduce policies that support healthy eating and overall well-being in order to improve workers ' productivity and quality of life.

Abstract

Technological advancements in healthcare, particularly through telemedicine, have significantly changed nursing practice. Telemedicine allows nursing personnel to provide consultation, monitoring, and health education remotely, increasing the accessibility of services, and reducing the burden on health facilities. Studies show that telemedicine contributes to improved service efficiency and patient adherence to treatment. However, its implementation still faces challenges, especially in infrastructure readiness, regulations, and ethical and legal aspects. Barriers such as inequality in digital access, limitations in virtual clinical assessment, and digital literacy gaps also affect the effectiveness of this service. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic analysis method to explore the benefits and challenges of telemedicine in nursing. Data were obtained from 30 nurses experienced in telemedicine services through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and policy document analysis. The results showed that although telemedicine improves efficiency and access to health services, challenges such as communication reliability, patient data security, and nursing personnel welfare need further attention. Therefore, an adaptive strategy is needed that includes strengthening policies, developing equitable digital infrastructure, and training health workers so that telemedicine services can be implemented optimally, ethically, and sustainably.

Abstract

Post-pregnancy, women experience complex physiological changes, including decreased hormone levels, trauma to the pelvic muscles, and the risk of complications such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence or sexual dysfunction. The process of uterine involution requires attention to prevent complications such as bleeding or infection. A comprehensive medical evaluation including examination of the reproductive organs and nutritional status of the mother is essential to ensure optimal recovery. On the other hand, psychological disorders such as postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety are common in new mothers, affecting both maternal well-being and infant development. Hormonal fluctuations, social pressures and new responsibilities exacerbate these conditions. Lack of social support and cultural stigma compound the challenges mothers face. Psychotherapy-based interventions and integration of mental health services have proven effective in helping mothers overcome these psychological issues. Structural barriers, such as lack of access to health facilities and limited medical personnel, are obstacles to providing adequate post-pregnancy care. Community-based education programs and strengthened health services are needed to increase awareness and access. With a holistic approach that includes both physical and mental aspects, post-pregnancy recovery can be optimized, improving the overall quality of life for mothers and families.

Abstract

The work environment is an important factor that can affect the mental and physical health of employees. This study aims to analyze how various aspects of the work environment, including work pressure, social support, as well as the physical conditions of the workplace, contribute to the well-being of employees. Using a qualitative phenomenology-based approach, this study explores the subjective experiences of employees through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and direct observation in the workplace. Research participants were selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of having worked for at least one year in various positions and departments. The results showed that high workload and lack of social support contribute to stress and fatigue, while the physical condition of the workplace that is not ergonomic increases the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Conversely, a supportive work environment, such as work flexibility and good social relationships, can improve employee well-being. These findings indicate that companies need to improve work policies and practices to create a healthier and more productive environment. By understanding the factors that affect the mental and physical health of employees, organizations can develop more effective strategies in improving the well-being and performance of their workforce.
