Abstract

Along with this progress, increasingly sophisticated information technology allows humans to fulfill various needs more efficiently, making many activities more practical and effective. One of the significant impacts of the rapid development of technology is the emergence of e-commerce. With e-commerce, it makes things easier for buyers because it provides various features that provide many conveniences. The existence of these features makes consumers tend to do impulsive buying, namely buying goods without careful planning or consideration, without thinking about the use or need for the goods. This research aims to see differences in impulsive buying behavior between male and female students who use e-commerce. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Slovin method to determine a sample consisting of 100 students who use e-commerce. The measuring instrument used is the impulsive buying scale with a total of 30 items. The results of data analysis using IBM SPSS 27 show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing with the independent sample t-test produces a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which indicates there is a significant difference in impulsive buying behavior between male and female students. The average impulsive buying score for female students (77.76) is higher than that of male students (58.72), indicating that women are more likely to do impulsive buying.

Abstract

The crisis phenomenon that often occurs among students especially final year students, is the background for this research. The aim of this research is to find out how the contribution of social comparison can influence the level of quarter life crisis in final year students at Padang State University. This study collected 131 subjects. To obtain data, the scale by Hombing & Simarmata (2023) was used to measure the quarter life crisis. Adapting the INCOM scale by Gibbons & Buunk (1999) was carried out to measure social comparisons made by individuals. This study carried out simple linear regression data analysis with the help of the SPSS 24 computer program. The research results showed that social comparison had a positive contribution to the quarter life crisis of 35.1%, meaning that social comparison was able to improve the quarter life crisis in individual final students. This means that it is important for final year students to be able to understand the mechanism by which a crisis arises and how social comparison is able to increase or reduce the crisis situation in order to help individuals manage the crisis they are facing.

Abstract

The variability of individual characteristics in the workplace relates to how they achieve their goals at work. If the direction of work regulations is not in accordance with the desired goals, then the balance between personal life and work expected by employees will not be achieved. This study is a comparative quantitative research that aims to see the difference between three subjects with the same variable not to investigate causal relationships. This study uses Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to identify whether there is a difference in the focus of labor regulations among Generation X, Y, and Z workers at PT. "X". The results show that Generation X has the lowest average in both dimensions as a comparison. There is a significant difference between Generation Y and Generation Z, with a p-value of .000 (p<0.001). This study revealed significant differences in the characteristics and work preferences between Generation X, Y, and Z in the Prevention Focus and Promotion Focus variables. Further analysis shows that Generation Y and Z, who value flexibility and are more open to technology, are in contrast to Generation X, who prioritize stability and structure.
