Abstract

Empathy is an essential social skill in child development, especially in primary school. Developing empathy in children helps them manage better social relationships and builds a caring character towards others. While the main focus in primary education often lies on academic achievement, social-emotional development, including empathy, should receive more attention. Thematic learning integrates various subjects in one theme relevant to students' real lives and offers an effective approach to fostering empathy. This article uses the literature review to analyze relevant sources on strategies to develop empathy through thematic learning in primary schools. The researcher reviewed scientific articles, books, and journals that discuss the implementation of thematic learning, character development, and empathy in primary education. Based on this literature review, thematic learning can create space for students to understand and feel the feelings of others through collaboration, social interaction, and character values-based learning. This research also shows the importance of the teacher's role in designing and implementing thematic learning that involves social values, including empathy. Thus, thematic learning can improve students' academic achievement and develop the social-emotional skills needed to form a more harmonious and tolerant society.

Abstract

Implementasi kebijakan Merdeka Belajar sebagai reformasi pendidikan nasional menghadirkan dinamika unik di tingkat daerah, khususnya dalam konteks politik pendidikan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis implementasi kebijakan Merdeka Belajar di Kabupaten Gowa dengan fokus pada aspek politik pendidikan yang mempengaruhi efektivitas implementasinya. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode literature review sistematis, penelitian menganalisis dokumen kebijakan, data statistik pendidikan, dan literatur ilmiah periode 2019-2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 60% sekolah telah mengimplementasikan program, dengan keberhasilan implementasi sangat dipengaruhi oleh interaksi antara faktor politik, teknis, dan sosial. Dukungan politik pemerintah daerah melalui peningkatan anggaran 15% menjadi katalis penting, namun keterbatasan infrastruktur dan variasi kapasitas implementator masih menjadi tantangan signifikan. Forum pendidikan berperan efektif dalam menjembatani komunikasi antara sekolah dan masyarakat, serta memobilisasi sumber daya lokal. Proyeksi pengembangan program membutuhkan penguatan pada aspek infrastruktur digital, mekanisme pendampingan, sistem insentif, dan jejaring kolaborasi. Keberhasilan implementasi akan bergantung pada kemampuan pemerintah daerah dalam menyelaraskan inisiatif strategis dengan konteks dan kebutuhan lokal secara koheren dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) education at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in fostering students' social awareness from an early age. Social awareness encompasses the ability to understand, appreciate, and interact harmoniously with the social environment, as well as a sense of responsibility toward society. This study reviews the role of Social Studies education in developing social awareness through the application of contextual and value-based learning methods. Learning approaches such as group discussions, simulations, and collaborative projects are utilized to teach social issues such as cultural diversity, social justice, and environmental sustainability. The results indicate that strategically designed Social Studies lessons can shape students into caring, critical individuals who actively contribute to community life. This study recommends strengthening the integration of social values into the Social Studies curriculum to support the development of a socially aware young generation.

Abstract

This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to collect, analyze, and assess scientific literature relevant to the topic in a structured manner. In this context, SLR is applied to systematically identify literature related to Psychomotor Assessment in Biology Learning. The data source of this study comes from articles in national research journals in the last 10 years, namely from 2014 to 2024. The research stages in this literature review consist of 6 stages, namely the selection of research topics, literature search, article reduction, article display, discussion, and conclusion. The result of this study is biology learning based on local wisdom in various schools, with diverse but positive results. These studies collectively show that local wisdom-based biology learning can be applied effectively in a variety of school environments and biology subjects. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Tinjauan Literatur Sistematis (SLR) untuk mengumpulkan, menganalisis, dan menilai literatur ilmiah yang relevan dengan topik secara terstruktur. Dalam konteks ini, SLR diterapkan untuk secara sistematis mengidentifikasi literatur terkait Penilaian Psikomotorik Dalam Pembelajaran Biologi. Sumber data dari penelitian ini yakni berasal dari artikel-artikel pada jurnal penelitian nasional dalam 10 tahun terakhir, yakni tahun 2014 hingga 2024. Tahapan penelitian dalam kajian literatur ini terdiri dari 6 tahapan, yakni pemilihan topik penelitiaan, pencarian literatur, reduksi artikel, display artikel, pembahasan, dan Kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran biologi berbasis kearifan local di berbagai sekolah, dengan hasil yang beragam namun cenderung positif. Studi-studi ini secara kolektif menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran biologi berbasis kearifan local dapat diterapkan secara efektif di berbagai lingkungan sekolah dan mata pelajaran biologi.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine advanced reading instruction in elementary schools as a crucial stage in developing students' literacy skills. It covers the definitions, objectives, and types of advanced reading aligned with the characteristics of elementary school students, and reviews strategies such as SQ3R, paired reading, graphic organizers, and literature circles, which have been proven effective in enhancing reading comprehension. The method used is a literature review through the analysis of relevant scholarly sources. The findings show that these strategies support improved comprehension, collaboration, critical thinking, and active student engagement. This study also discusses implementation challenges and offers directions for creative innovation in the context of advanced reading instruction. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis of advanced reading strategies tailored to the diverse characteristics of elementary students, along with the incorporation of interactive educational digital media—an approach still relatively rarely explored in basic literacy literature.

Abstract

This study discusses the effectiveness of the application of the STM learning model on the learning outcomes of class V students of SD Negeri 3 Tinambung. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) The learning outcomes of students before the application of the STM learning model 2) The learning outcomes of class students after the application of the STM learning model and 3) The Effectiveness of the Application of the STM Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes. This study uses quantitative research, pre-experimental design type and one-group pre-test-post-test design type. The population in this study were all class V students totaling 30 students. The instruments used were learning outcome tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on the results of data analysis using descriptive statistics, the average value of students before being taught the STM learning method was 48 and the average value of students after being taught with the STM learning model was 78. The results of the SPSS 25 sign calculation. < α = 0.05 or (0.000> 0.05) in the sense that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, with a confidence level of 95% it is said that the average value of student learning outcomes before the implementation of the STM learning model is not the same as the average value of student learning outcomes after the implementation of the STM learning model. This data shows the effectiveness of the implementation of the STM learning model.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat saat ini juga sangat berpengaruh terhadap dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam hal pengembangan media pembelajaran. Pada era modern ini, berbagai platform digital yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan inovatif guna mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih efektif. Salah satunya yang populer digunakan saat ini adalah Canva. Canva merupakan alat desain yang menyediakan beragam fitur dalam membuat media pembelajaran. Peneliti memilih patform Canva sebagai solusi dalam mengatasi masalah pengembangan media pembelajaran karena beberapa kelebihan yang dimiliki oleh platform tersebut. Subjek dalam penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar semester empat yang saat ini sedang memprogram mata kuliah Media Pembelajaran untuk mengetahui respon mereka terhadap penggunaan Canva. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara mendistribusikan angket kepada mahasiswa melalui Google Form. Angket tersebut berisi 12 pernyataan yang dibagi menjadi: 3 pernyataan aspek tampilan visual, 3 pernyataan aspek kemudahan penggunaan, 3 pernyataan aspek manfaat terhadap pembelajaran, dan 3 pernyataan pada aspek motivasi belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon mahasiswa terhadap pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Canva. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran Canva dinilai sangat positif oleh mahasiswa karena memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengalaman belajar mahasiswa. Hal ini tercermin dari rata-rata skor yang tinggi pada hampir semua pernyataan.

Abstract

Non-test evaluation is an alternative approach in assessing learning processes and outcomes that cannot be optimally measured through written tests. In the midst of the demands of 21st century education that emphasizes the development of character and skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, non-test evaluation comes as a relevant and adaptive instrument. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of non-test evaluation as an instrument in developing 21st century character and skills in learners. Non-test evaluation, which includes observation, self-assessment, portfolio, and project assessment, is believed to provide a more holistic picture of student development compared to written tests. The research method used was a literature study and comparative analysis of various evaluation approaches. The results show that non-test evaluation is able to measure affective and psychomotor aspects that are difficult to access through written tests, thus supporting character development such as cooperation, responsibility, and 21st century skills such as critical thinking and problem solving. Therefore, the application of non-test evaluation in learning activities is strongly recommended to realize a comprehensive education system that is in accordance with the real-life context.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis Video Learning Multimedia (VLM) terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata siswa di SD Negeri 24 Batutaku, Kabupaten Majene. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental satu kelompok pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 peserta didik yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen tes penguasaan kosakata yang diberikan sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Karena data tidak memenuhi asumsi normalitas, analisis statistik dilakukan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil analisis menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis VLM memberikan kontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata siswa. Dengan demikian, VLM dapat dikategorikan sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif dan menarik untuk diaplikasikan pada jenjang sekolah dasar

Abstract

Aggressive behavior among junior high school students is a critical issue that negatively impacts students' social-emotional development and the learning environment at school. This article critically examines the relationship between parenting styles and adolescent aggressive behavior, highlighting the role of self-control as a mediating variable. Through a qualitative literature review of 35 relevant studies from the fields of psychology, education, and family sociology, this article finds that authoritarian and permissive parenting styles are positively correlated with aggressive tendencies. In contrast, authoritative parenting tends to protect children from deviant behavior. On the other hand, self-control was found to play a significant role in mitigating the negative influence of parenting on adolescent aggression, mainly when supported by the presence of an authoritative figure, a supportive social environment, and appropriate educational interventions. These findings underscore the significance of self-control as a mediator between parenting and aggressive behavioral responses in adolescents.
