Abdurrauf Journal of Islamic Studies (ARJIS) with P-ISSN 2828-3597 (Print), E-ISSN 2828-4879 (Online) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Syekh Abdur Rauf Aceh Singkil, Indonesia. ARJIS Journal is published in three editions every year, in February, June, and October, with a peer review process. This journal focuses on Islamic studies such as Islamic Religious Education, Islamic Law, Islamic Dakwah and Communication, Islamic Economics, Sharia Economic Law, Quran and Hadith Studies, Islamic Philosophy, Islamic Theology, Islamic Thought, Islam and Gender, Islam and Politics, Islam and Peace, Islam in the local/nation, History and Civilization in Islam and Sufism. This journal is expected to make a constructive and comprehensive contribution to the enlightenment of Islamic science. Scientific publications reviewed by experts in their fields. In the Peer Review process, all manuscripts entered into this journal must follow the focus and scope, as well as the guidelines of the authors of this journal. The submitted manuscript must discuss scientific achievements or novelties in accordance with its focus and scope. All texts should be free of plagiarism content. Abstract

This research analyses Al-Syaibany's thoughts on Islamic education in the context of the Society 5.0 era. The aim is to explore the relevance of Al-Syaibany's curriculum concepts and learning methods to the needs of modern education that focuses on humans and technology. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature study, referring to Al-Syaibany's main book, Falsafah Pendidikan Islam, as well as secondary sources such as journals and related books. The results show that Al-Syaibany's curriculum emphasises the balance between religious values, the development of learners' potential, and relevance to the needs of society. The principles include harmony with religion, comprehensiveness, balance of knowledge, and adaptation to social change. In addition, his learning methods, such as problem-based methods and discussions, are in line with the demands of Society 5.0 which requires critical thinking skills, collaboration, and digital literacy. This research concludes that Al-Syaibany's thinking can be a solution to the challenges of education in the Society 5.0 era, especially in integrating Islamic values with technological advances. The implication is that educators and policy makers can adopt this concept to create a holistic and adaptive education system. [Penelitian ini menganalisis pemikiran Al-Syaibany tentang pendidikan Islam dalam konteks era Society 5.0. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengeksplorasi relevansi konsep kurikulum dan metode pembelajaran Al-Syaibany dengan kebutuhan pendidikan modern yang berfokus pada manusia dan teknologi. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literatur, mengacu pada buku utama Al-Syaibany, Falsafah Pendidikan Islam, serta sumber sekunder seperti jurnal dan buku terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum Al-Syaibany menekankan keseimbangan antara nilai agama, pengembangan potensi peserta didik, dan relevansi dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Prinsip-prinsipnya mencakup keselarasan dengan agama, komprehensivitas, keseimbangan ilmu, serta adaptasi terhadap perubahan sosial. Selain itu, metode pembelajarannya, seperti metode berbasis masalah dan diskusi, sejalan dengan tuntutan Society 5.0 yang membutuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, dan literasi digital. Abstract

The global environmental crisis increasingly demands the involvement of all sectors, including religious institutions. However, the role of mosques as agents of environmental da'wah in Indonesia remains underutilized, especially amid urbanization and low ecological literacy among Muslim communities. This study aims to examine and design mosque-based environmental da'wah programs as an integrative effort between Islamic values and ecological awareness. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing classical and contemporary Islamic literature, public policy documents, and case studies of environmental da'wah practices in selected mosques. The findings reveal that mosques hold strategic potential as centers for ecological education through spiritual, educational, and participatory approaches. The proposed da'wah programs include thematic environmental sermons, educational mosque gardens, Friday clean-up movements, congregational waste banks, and training for environmentally conscious mosque administrators, supported by digital media outreach. These initiatives align with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' policy to mainstream environmental issues into religious activities. Environmental da'wah has proven effective in enhancing ecological spirituality, encouraging active community participation, and fostering socio-economic empowerment through mosque-based initiatives. [Krisis lingkungan global yang semakin mengkhawatirkan menuntut keterlibatan berbagai pihak, termasuk lembaga keagamaan. Namun, pemanfaatan masjid sebagai agen dakwah lingkungan di Indonesia masih belum optimal, terutama dalam konteks urbanisasi dan rendahnya literasi ekologi masyarakat Muslim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan merancang program dakwah lingkungan berbasis masjid sebagai upaya integratif antara nilai-nilai Islam dan kesadaran ekologis. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi pustaka, melalui telaah literatur klasik dan kontemporer, kebijakan publik, serta studi kasus praktik dakwah lingkungan di sejumlah masjid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masjid memiliki potensi strategis sebagai pusat edukasi ekologis melalui pendekatan spiritual, edukatif, dan partisipatif. Program dakwah lingkungan yang dikembangkan mencakup khutbah tematik lingkungan, taman edukatif, gerakan Jumat bersih, bank sampah jamaah, serta pelatihan pengurus masjid yang ramah lingkungan dengan dukungan media digital. Program ini sejalan dengan kebijakan Kementerian Agama RI dalam mengarusutamakan isu pelestarian lingkungan ke dalam aktivitas keagamaan. Dakwah lingkungan terbukti mampu meningkatkan spiritualitas ekologis, partisipasi aktif jamaah, serta memberdayakan masyarakat secara sosial dan ekonomi berbasis komunitas masjid.]

Abstract

This article examines the symbolic meaning of the phrase nâshiyah kâdzibah khâthi’ah in Q.S. al-‘Alaq verse 16 through an integrative approach combining tafsir studies and neuroscientific perspectives. The phrase is often translated as “a lying and sinful forelock,” yet a literal interpretation does not sufficiently capture the depth of its moral and psychological messages. This study aims to explore the symbolic dimension of the verse by connecting it to the neurological function of the frontal lobe as the center of human behavioral control. The research adopts a qualitative methodology using a library research design, with data analyzed descriptively through in-depth textual analysis of primary literature in Qur’anic exegesis and neuroscience. Key sources include Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Azh?m by Ibn Kathir, F? Zhil?l al-Qur’an by Sayyid Qutb, Tafsir al-Misbah by Quraish Shihab, and Tafsir al-Aayaat al-Kauniyah by Zaghlul al-Najjar. The findings reveal that the Qur’an symbolically refers to the human brain region responsible for moral judgment, behavior regulation, and decision-making—known in modern neuroscience as the frontal lobe. This study highlights the relevance of Qur'anic symbolic expression in dialogue with contemporary scientific discoveries. [Artikel ini menelaah makna simbolik frasa nâshiyah kâdzibah khâthi’ah dalam Q.S. al-‘Alaq ayat 16 melalui pendekatan tafsir dan neuroscientific. Frasa ini sering diterjemahkan sebagai “ubun-ubun pendusta dan durhaka”, namun pemahaman literal tidak sepenuhnya mencerminkan kedalaman pesan moral dan psikologis yang terkandung di dalamnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap makna simbolik dari frasa tersebut dengan mengaitkannya pada fungsi neurologis lobus frontal sebagai pusat kendali perilaku manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research), yang dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui teknik analisis mendalam terhadap literatur utama bidang tafsir dan neurosains. Sumber data mencakup kitab-kitab tafsir klasik dan kontemporer seperti Tafsir Al-Qur’an Al-‘Azhîm karya Ibnu Katsir, Fî Zhilal Al-Qur’an karya Sayyid Qutb, Tafsir Al-Misbah karya Quraish Shihab, serta Tafsir Al-Aayaat Al-Kauniyah karya Zaghlul An-Najjar. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Al-Qur’an secara simbolik telah merujuk pada bagian otak manusia yang mengatur aspek moral, perilaku, dan pengambilan keputusan, yang dalam ilmu neurosains modern dikenal sebagai lobus frontal. Abstract

This article discusses hadith Sufism in the perspective of Hadrotus Shaykh KH. Hasyim Asy'ari by examining his monumental work, Adabul '?lim wa al-Muta'allim. This book is not only a guide to manners in the process of Islamic education, but also contains a Sufistic spiritual dimension based on the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this article examines how KH. Hasyim Asy'ari understood and internalized the values of Sufism in education through the interpretation of hadith. The emphasis on sincere intentions, control of lust, and spiritual closeness to Allah are the core of the Sufistic study. KH. Hasyim Asy'ari linked the traditions about knowledge with the practice of Sufism which is oriented towards tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) and mahabbah (love of Allah and His Messenger). Thus, Sufism in his perspective is not only oriented to the inner aspects, but also integrated in the ethics of learning and teaching. This study shows that the book of Adabul '?lim wa al-Muta'allim reflects a harmonious blend of hadith scholarship and Sufistic spirituality, which is relevant to serve as a guide for Islamic character education today.  [Artikel ini membahas sufisme hadis dalam perspektif Hadrotus Syaikh KH. Hasyim Asy’ari dengan menelaah karya beliau yang monumental, Adabul ‘?lim wa al-Muta‘allim. Kitab ini tidak hanya menjadi pedoman adab dalam proses pendidikan Islam, tetapi juga memuat dimensi spiritual sufistik yang berpijak pada hadis-hadis Nabi Muhammad SAW. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, artikel ini mengkaji bagaimana KH. Hasyim Asy’ari memahami dan menginternalisasi nilai-nilai sufisme dalam pendidikan melalui penafsiran hadis. Penekanan pada niat yang ikhlas, pengendalian hawa nafsu, serta kedekatan spiritual kepada Allah menjadi inti dari telaah sufistik tersebut. KH. Hasyim Asy’ari mengaitkan hadis-hadis tentang ilmu dengan praktik tasawuf yang berorientasi pada tazkiyatun nafs (penyucian jiwa) dan mahabbah (cinta kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya). Dengan demikian, sufisme dalam perspektif beliau tidak hanya berorientasi pada aspek batin, tetapi juga terintegrasi dalam etika belajar dan mengajar. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa kitab Adabul ‘?lim wa al-Muta‘allim mencerminkan perpaduan harmonis antara keilmuan hadis dan spiritualitas sufistik, yang relevan untuk dijadikan pedoman pendidikan karakter Islami masa kini.]

Abstract

This study is motivated by the weakening sense of unity among Liberian Muslim communities in Nigeria, which affects their social engagement and contribution to community development. The main research problem revolves around identifying the supporting and hindering factors in sustaining Muslim unity within a diasporic context. The study aims to analyze the key drivers that strengthen unity among Liberian Muslims in Nigeria and to explore the major challenges that threaten their social and religious cohesion. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of community and religious activities. The findings reveal that shared religious identity, effective spiritual leadership, and solidarity rooted in ethnic and Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah) serve as major sustaining factors. Conversely, differing religious orientations, leadership conflicts, and limited access to socio-economic resources emerge as significant obstacles. This research contributes to the understanding of socio-religious dynamics among African Muslim diasporas in Nigeria and offers insights for developing strategies to enhance social cohesion through Islamic values [Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh melemahnya semangat persatuan di kalangan komunitas Muslim Liberia di Nigeria, yang berdampak pada kurang optimalnya peran sosial dan kontribusi mereka terhadap pembangunan komunitas. Persoalan ini menimbulkan pertanyaan mengenai faktor-faktor yang menopang dan menghambat upaya menjaga kesatuan umat dalam konteks diaspora. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor penopang persatuan komunitas Muslim Liberia di Nigeria serta mengidentifikasi tantangan utama yang dihadapi dalam menjaga solidaritas dan stabilitas sosial mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap berbagai aktivitas sosial dan keagamaan komunitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor utama yang menopang persatuan adalah kesamaan identitas keagamaan, kepemimpinan spiritual yang efektif, serta solidaritas berbasis etnis dan nilai ukhuwah Islamiyah. Namun, tantangan utama meliputi perbedaan orientasi keagamaan, konflik internal kepemimpinan, dan keterbatasan akses terhadap sumber daya sosial-ekonomi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya kajian tentang dinamika sosial-keagamaan diaspora Muslim Afrika di Nigeria, serta memberikan dasar bagi formulasi strategi penguatan kohesi sosial berbasis nilai Islam.]

Abstract

The digital transformation in waqf management has shifted traditional practices toward a more modern, transparent, and participatory system. While digitalization provides significant opportunities for optimizing productive waqf, current regulations remain conventional and have yet to fully accommodate the needs of the digital era. This study aims to analyze the role of digitalization in developing productive waqf in Indonesia and to evaluate the responsiveness of Islamic economic law regulations to these transformations. This research employs a qualitative approach using literature review and normative analysis. Data were obtained from a review of waqf regulations, DSN-MUI fatwas, and both national and international academic literature on waqf digitalization. Digitalization offers substantial opportunities to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in productive waqf. However, Islamic economic law regulations in Indonesia are not yet fully responsive to emerging issues such as digital data protection, transaction security, and technology-based governance. Differences in fatwa interpretation also present challenges in implementing digital waqf. Digitalization of productive waqf has great potential to support the economic empowerment of the Muslim community. Nevertheless, regulatory reforms, stronger roles for supervisory authorities such as BWI, DSN-MUI, and OJK, as well as improved public digital literacy, are required to maximize its benefits. This article contributes a new perspective on the urgency of strengthening the legal framework and governance of digital waqf that is adaptive to technological developments, providing both a conceptual foundation for future research and guidance for policy formulation. [Transformasi digital dalam pengelolaan wakaf telah mengubah paradigma tradisional menuju sistem yang lebih modern, transparan, dan partisipatif. Digitalisasi menghadirkan peluang besar bagi optimalisasi wakaf produktif, namun regulasi yang ada masih berbasis konvensional dan belum sepenuhnya mengakomodasi kebutuhan era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran digitalisasi dalam pengembangan wakaf produktif di Indonesia serta mengevaluasi responsivitas regulasi hukum ekonomi syariah terhadap perubahan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur dan analisis normatif. Data diperoleh melalui telaah terhadap regulasi wakaf, fatwa DSN-MUI, serta literatur akademik nasional dan internasional terkait digitalisasi wakaf. Digitalisasi membuka peluang besar dalam meningkatkan transparansi, akuntabilitas, serta partisipasi masyarakat dalam wakaf produktif. Namun, regulasi hukum ekonomi syariah di Indonesia belum sepenuhnya responsif terhadap isu-isu baru seperti perlindungan data digital, keamanan transaksi, dan tata kelola berbasis teknologi. Perbedaan interpretasi fatwa juga menjadi tantangan dalam implementasi wakaf digital. Digitalisasi wakaf produktif memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung pembangunan ekonomi umat, tetapi diperlukan pembaruan regulasi, penguatan peran otoritas pengawas seperti BWI, DSN-MUI, dan OJK, serta peningkatan literasi digital masyarakat agar manfaatnya dapat dimaksimalkan. Abstract

The disruptive era presents both challenges and opportunities for Islamic preaching institutions in maintaining their existence and relevance within modern society. Changes in communication patterns, digital content competition, limited human resources, and dependency on donations have driven the need for transformation in da’wah management. This study aims to analyze the transformation strategies of Islamic preaching institutions through the development of entrepreneurship-based products grounded in Islamic values. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review, examining studies related to digital da’wah, social entrepreneurship, and religious institution management. The findings indicate that digitalization of da’wah, cross-sector collaboration, human resource capacity building, service diversification, and the integration of da’wah values into creative products are strategic steps to adapt to the disruptive era. The entrepreneurial products developed can take the form of digital, physical, or service-based outputs that promote community empowerment. The implementation of entrepreneurship strengthens institutional sustainability, enhances da’wah effectiveness, creates economic independence, opens job opportunities, and fosters a positive image of Islamic institutions as modern, adaptive, and solution-oriented entities. Therefore, entrepreneurship serves as a vital instrument to ensure the continuity of da’wah while holistically addressing societal needs. [Era disruptif menghadirkan tantangan sekaligus peluang bagi lembaga dakwah dalam menjaga eksistensi dan relevansinya di tengah dinamika masyarakat modern. Perubahan pola komunikasi, persaingan konten digital, keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, serta ketergantungan pada donasi menjadi faktor yang mendorong perlunya transformasi dalam pelaksanaan dakwah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi transformasi lembaga dakwah melalui pengembangan produk kewirausahaan yang berlandaskan nilai-nilai Islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang menelaah berbagai literatur terkait dakwah digital, kewirausahaan sosial, dan manajemen lembaga keagamaan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi dakwah, kolaborasi lintas sektor, penguatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, diversifikasi layanan, serta integrasi nilai dakwah dalam produk kreatif merupakan langkah strategis untuk beradaptasi dengan era disruptif. Produk kewirausahaan yang dikembangkan dapat berupa produk digital, fisik, maupun jasa yang mendukung pemberdayaan umat. Implementasi kewirausahaan terbukti mampu memperkuat eksistensi lembaga dakwah, mewujudkan kemandirian ekonomi, meningkatkan efektivitas dakwah, membuka lapangan kerja, serta membangun citra positif sebagai lembaga yang modern, adaptif, dan solutif. Dengan demikian, kewirausahaan berperan sebagai instrumen penting dalam menjamin keberlanjutan dakwah sekaligus menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat secara holistik.]

Abstract

The development of Islamic da’wah in the digital era presents new challenges for Islamic organizations in producing preachers (da’i) who are not only knowledgeable but also adaptive to social, technological, and cultural transformations. The fragmentation between formal and non-formal education in many da’wah institutions has weakened the continuity between the spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects of preacher formation. In this context, Wahdah Islamiyah becomes a significant case to study, as it has successfully developed a cadre system that integrates education, training, and da’wah in a holistic and systematic manner. This study aims to analyze the da’wah and preacher training system of Wahdah Islamiyah as a comprehensive model of institutional da’wah. The research employs a library-based qualitative approach with critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, including relevant previous studies. The results indicate that Wahdah Islamiyah successfully integrates da’wah bil lisan (preaching by speech), bil hal (by action), and bil qalam (by writing) within a multi-level and structured cadre system oriented toward character formation. This model emphasizes three main educational dimensions—ruhiyah (spiritual), tsaqafiyah (intellectual), and jasadiyah (physical)—which are crystallized into five core cadre characteristics: mu’min, mushlih, mujahid, muta’awin, and mutqin. The study highlights a key novelty: Wahdah Islamiyah perceives da’wah not merely as a spiritual activity but as an educational, social, and cultural strategy that aligns with the needs and challenges of the digital age. The findings contribute conceptually and practically to the development of da’wah organization strategies, the strengthening of Islamic education, and the formulation of contextual and inclusive religious policies. [Perkembangan dakwah Islam di era digital menghadirkan tantangan baru bagi organisasi Islam dalam melahirkan kader da’i yang tidak hanya berwawasan keilmuan, tetapi juga adaptif terhadap perubahan sosial, teknologi, dan budaya global. Fragmentasi antara pendidikan formal dan non-formal di berbagai lembaga dakwah menyebabkan lemahnya kesinambungan antara aspek spiritual, intelektual, dan sosial kader da’i. Dalam konteks tersebut, Wahdah Islamiyah menarik untuk dikaji karena berhasil mengembangkan sistem kaderisasi yang memadukan pendidikan, pembinaan, dan dakwah secara integral. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sistem dakwah dan kaderisasi da’i Wahdah Islamiyah sebagai model dakwah institusional yang komprehensif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan analisis kritis terhadap literatur primer dan sekunder, termasuk temuan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wahdah Islamiyah berhasil mengintegrasikan dakwah bil lisan, bil hal, dan bil qalam dalam sistem kaderisasi da’i yang berjenjang, sistematis, dan berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter. Model kaderisasi ini menekankan tiga dimensi utama pendidikan, yaitu ruhiyah, tsaqafiyah, dan jasadiyah, yang kemudian dikristalisasi dalam lima karakter inti kader: mu’min, mushlih, mujahid, muta’awin, dan mutqin. Temuan penelitian ini menegaskan kebaruan bahwa Wahdah Islamiyah tidak hanya memandang dakwah sebagai aktivitas spiritual, tetapi juga sebagai strategi pendidikan, sosial, dan kultural yang relevan dengan kebutuhan serta tantangan era digital. Implikasi penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual dan praktis bagi pengembangan strategi organisasi dakwah, penguatan pendidikan Islam, dan perumusan kebijakan keagamaan yang kontekstual serta inklusif.]

Abstract

The prevalent phenomenon of spreading spousal disgrace on social media raises significant concerns regarding communication ethics and poses a threat to marital harmony, while also disregarding Islamic values of privacy. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of spreading spousal disgrace on social media from a Quranic perspective. Q.S. An-Nur: 19 is used as an analysis of the problem. Some books of tafsir as primary data serve to strengthen the argument. Secondary data were obtained from several books of tafsir and related scientific literature. The results of the study show that spreading a spouse's disgrace is inconsistent with the principles of Q.S. An-Nur (24): 19. The Qur'an offers two solutions, namely preventive and practical solutions. This paper shows that the Quran and its interpretation can be used to answer various problems related to digital transformation. Through this study, the Qur'an is expected to be a reference in solving contemporary issues. [Maraknya fenomena pengumbaran aib pasangan di media sosial menimbulkan problem etika komunikasi dan ancaman terhadap keharmonisan rumah tangga, sekaligus mengabaikan nilai-nilai privasi dalam Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena pengumbaran aib pasangan di media sosial perspektif Al-Qur’an. Penelitian kepustakaan digunakan untuk memetakan dan menganalisis penelitian ini. Q.S. An-Nur (24): 19 digunakan sebagai analisis masalah. Beberapa kitab tafsir sebagai data primer berfungsi untuk memperkuat argumen. Data sekunder diperoleh dari beberapa kitab tafsir dan literatur ilmiah terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menyebarkan aib pasangan tidak sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip dalam Q.S. An-Nur: 19. Al-Qur'an menawarkan dua solusi, yaitu solusi preventif dan solusi praktis. Tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa Al-Qur'an dan tafsirnya dapat digunakan untuk menjawab berbagai persoalan terkait transformasi digital.
