Abstract

One of the causes of pain during the first stage of labor in the active phase is contraction of the uterine muscles, hypoxia of the contracting muscles, stretching of the cervix when it opens, ischemia of the uterine corpus, and stretching of the lower uterine segment. Objective: To determine the effect of breathing relaxation techniques on reducing active phase I labor pain at PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung Hospital. This research uses a pre-experimental research method with a one group pretest posttest research design. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely 20 mothers giving birth. The instrument used in this research was the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) sheet. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. Before the Respiratory Relaxation Technique was carried out, the majority of respondents were on a scale of 7-9 (Severe Pain) as many as 11 people (55.0%). After using the Deep Breathing Technique, the majority of respondents were on a scale of 4-6 (Moderate Pain) as many as 17 people (85.0%). The Wilcoxon test results obtained a p value = 0.001. Thus, the p value is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Relaxation Breathing Technique on the intensity of labor pain in the first active stage. There is an influence of the Respiratory Relaxation Technique on reducing labor pain in the active phase I of labor at the PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung Hospital. It is hoped that mothers in labor can use Deep Breathing Relaxation Techniques to reduce pain effectively.

Abstract

Husband's support is an essential factor that influences pregnant women's adherence to attending Antenatal Care (ANC) visits. Husbands who provide emotional, informational, and instrumental support can increase a mother's motivation to undergo regular pregnancy check-ups. Regular ANC visits are crucial for monitoring maternal and fetal health and for early detection of potential pregnancy complications. However, many pregnant women do not attend ANC visits as recommended due to a lack of support from their partners. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 53 third-trimester pregnant women selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test to examine the relationship between the independent variable (husband's support) and the dependent variable (ANC visits). The results showed that most respondents had moderate (45.3%) and low (41.5%) levels of husband support. Additionally, only 45.3% of respondents regularly attended ANC visits. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between husband's support and pregnant women's adherence to ANC visits (p < 0.05). The study concludes that higher levels of husband support increase the likelihood of pregnant women attending ANC visits regularly. Therefore, family-based interventions involving husbands in maternal health education programs should be enhanced to improve ANC coverage

Abstract

Optimal nutrition plays an important role in increasing endurance, strength, and accelerating the recovery process for athletes. This study aims to evaluate the impact of macronutrient (carbohydrate, protein, and fat) and micronutrient (vitamin and mineral) consumption on athletes' physical performance. This study used an experimental method involving 30 athletes who were divided into two groups: one group with a diet that had been adjusted to sports needs and the other group who underwent a diet without strict supervision. The results showed that the group with a balanced diet experienced a 15% increase in endurance, 10% increase in muscle strength, and faster recovery compared to the control group. These results confirm that the right nutritional consumption pattern can improve performance and accelerate post-workout recovery.

Abstract

Warming up is an important component in every physical activity and sport that aims to prepare the body physiologically and psychologically before doing exercise or competition. Proper warming up can increase muscle temperature, increase flexibility, improve neuromuscular response, and reduce the risk of injury. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of warming up in improving athletic performance and preventing injury based on literature reviews and previous research. The method used in this study is a literature review of various studies related to warming up, including types of warming up (general and specific warming up), optimal duration, and its impact on performance and safety in sports. The results of the study showed that warming up that combines light aerobic activity, dynamic stretching, and sport-specific movements can increase blood flow to the muscles, increase energy production, and accelerate the activation of the nervous system. In addition, warming up also helps in the mental preparation of athletes before competing or training.

Abstract

Injury is one of the biggest challenges for athletes, which not only affects the physical but also the psychological aspects. This study aims to analyze how psychological factors, such as stress management, focus, and motivation, play a role in preventing injuries in athletes. The research method used is a quantitative study with a survey approach to 150 athletes from various sports. The results of the study showed that psychological factors have a significant relationship with the risk of injury, where athletes with high levels of anxiety are more susceptible to injury compared to those with good stress management. Therefore, the application of sports psychology techniques, such as relaxation, visualization, and mindfulness, can be an effective strategy in preventing injuries in athletes.
