Abstract

Islamic communication is a comprehensive and ethical framework rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, emphasizing truthfulness, wisdom, respect, and responsibility. It plays a crucial role in Da’wah (Islamic preaching), education, interfaith dialogue, media, and digital discourse. As communication methods evolve, Islamic communication must adapt to modern platforms while maintaining its ethical foundations. This study explores the theoretical foundations, methodologies, contemporary applications, and challenges of Islamic communication. It highlights how traditional approaches, such as sermons and direct interpersonal dialogue, have transitioned into digital spaces, including social media, online learning, and global media platforms. While these developments offer new opportunities for outreach and engagement, they also pose challenges such as misinformation, unethical media practices, Islamophobia, and the commercialization of religious content. The research underscores the importance of media literacy, responsible digital engagement, and scholarly participation in ensuring that Islamic communication remains authentic, impactful, and aligned with Islamic ethical values. Furthermore, it presents future directions for strengthening Islamic communication, including the integration of modern technology, youth engagement, and ethical guidelines for digital Da’wah. By examining both traditional and contemporary dimensions, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of Islamic communication and its role in fostering knowledge, unity, and positive social change in an increasingly interconnected world.

Abstract

By giving teachers the necessary tools, teacher training plays a critical role in raising the standard of education. Training programs that are accessible and structured are becoming more and more important as educational demands change. The usefulness of teacher training frameworks, the incorporation of contemporary educational approaches, and the difficulties in obtaining and executing these programs are all examined in this study. This study examines global trends in teacher training literature (2019–2024) using Scopus and bibliometric analysis. Thematic focuses, important contributors, and publication trends were evaluated by data analysis using R/R-Studio, VoSviewer, and Microsoft Excel. Despite a rise in research activity, the results indicate a decreasing annual growth rate of publications. With a focus on particular locations, the study identifies important journals, authors, organizations, and nations influencing research on teacher preparation. Results show that training that is well-organized and updated often improves student performance and instructional efficacy. Adaptability to different classrooms is enhanced by the integration of inclusive education and technology. Nonetheless, there are still gaps in our knowledge of the long-term effects of training and in guaranteeing fair access to professional growth. When creating evidence-based teacher training programs, policymakers, educational institutions, and training providers use these insights as a guide. Comparative evaluations of training approaches, long-term efficacy, and international cooperation tactics in teacher education should all be investigated in future studies. For education systems around the world to advance, teacher training programs must be strengthened.

Abstract

This research explores the foundational principles and ethical framework of Islamic economics as a distinct paradigm from conventional economic systems. Anchored in Islamic legal and moral philosophy, the study examines core concepts such as the prohibition of Riba (interest), the obligation of zakat (almsgiving), the avoidance of Gharar (excessive uncertainty), and the requirement for halal (permissible) transactions. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the research draws on instructional material to identify how these principles are articulated and positioned within Islamic economic thought. The analysis reveals that Islamic economics is not merely a financial model but a value-based system emphasizing justice, social welfare, and divine accountability. Unlike conventional economics, which prioritizes utility maximization and market efficiency, Islamic economics centers on moral responsibility, risk-sharing, and ethical profit. The findings highlight the potential of Islamic economics to address contemporary issues such as inequality and unsustainable growth. This study contributes to the literature by offering a structured interpretation of Islamic economics grounded in scriptural sources and pedagogical content. Its originality lies in clarifying the ethical-spiritual foundation of Islamic economics and its relevance in modern discourse on sustainable and equitable economic systems.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development and transformation of Islamic thought from its classical roots to contemporary expressions, with a focus on how it responds to modern global challenges such as democracy, human rights, gender equality, and environmental issues. The theoretical framework draws upon the works of classical and modern Islamic scholars, including Al-Ghazali, Ibn Rushd, Muhammad Abduh, and Fazlur Rahman, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between wahy (revelation) and aql (reason), as well as the concept of ijtihad (independent reasoning) and contextual interpretation. Using a qualitative, descriptive-analytical method, this study analyzes selected texts and scholarly contributions to trace the historical trajectory and current discourse within Islamic thought. The findings indicate that Islamic thought is not monolithic, but rather evolves in response to historical and social contexts. Contemporary Muslim thinkers increasingly emphasize the need for contextualization, ethical renewal, and reinterpretation of Islamic sources to remain relevant in the face of current challenges. These results highlight that modern Islamic thought holds significant potential to contribute to social justice, inclusive governance, and human development when rooted in both textual integrity and contextual awareness. The implication of this research is the need to revitalize Islamic education and scholarly engagement with a focus on critical, reformist, and ethical approaches. The originality of this study lies in its synthesis of classical and modern perspectives within a unified narrative that frames Islamic thought as a living, adaptable intellectual tradition capable of informing contemporary discourse in meaningful ways.

Abstract

This paper set out to explore how everyday cultural practices and strong beliefs help shape how effective an institution can be, revealing layers of influence that aren’t immediately obvious. A mix of methods was used—from surveys and interviews to the analysis of various performance markers—so that both qualitative insights and hard numbers could be considered side by side.  This study looks into how Islamic cultural values might influence organisational performance at Islamic universities in Uganda. Its focus is on understanding how everyday cultural practices and long-held beliefs can affect the way these institutions work; in most cases, both qualitative and quantitative data – gathered via surveys, interviews, and performance metrics analysis – will be used to tease out the link between Islamic cultural elements and organisational outcomes. The findings seem to point clearly to a link between using communal values, ethical behaviour, and leadership styles rooted closely in Islamic teachings and a boost in organisational results; in many cases, this translates into better employee morale, smoother collaboration, and a deeper sense of loyalty. Generally speaking, when cultural values are woven into everyday operations, the benefits seem to spill over quite naturally, especially in contexts where cultural identity holds major importance. It’s also worth noting that these insights aren’t limited to education; similar benefits could well be seen in the healthcare sector, where recognising and applying cultural principles might even improve organisational performance, patient satisfaction, and overall service quality. In all, by underlining the subtle yet meaningful impact of cultural nuances on building effective organisations, this study adds another voice to the wider debate on the need for management practices that truly respect and blend diverse cultural influences into their strategies.

Abstract

The intended goal of establishing the ‘Nadwatul Ulama’ Lucknow, India was to ignite the light of Islam throughout the world, by spreading the spirit and ideas of Islam among all people through the Islamic call, guided by wisdom, good advice, sound logic, and the modern era. It also aimed to protect Islam from all forms of suspicion and to dispel the doubts that had been raised about it due to dangerous propaganda and accusations directed against it, such as, the enemies of Islam, at the top of whose list are Christian and Jewish Orientalists and other missionaries who were directed towards it under the shadow of Western colonialism by distorting Islam and confusing the thoughts of Muslims by spreading the secular, irreligious idea in Islamic society. By indoctrinating the new generation of Muslims with deviant Western ideas, including Freudianism, Darwinism, existentialism, materialism, communism, atheism, and others, in this article we aim to clarify the desired objectives of establishing the 'Nadwatul Ulama' and briefly outline its role in achieving these desired objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the threats posed by artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled disinformation during global crises, including pandemics, geopolitical conflicts, and climate emergencies. While prior research has examined AI’s role in enhancing information processing and communication, few studies have critically analyzed how AI tools such as deep-fakes, NLP-generated fake news, and social media bots are systematically weaponized to distort facts and manipulate public perception at scale. This research addresses that gap by offering a thematic and case-based analysis of AI-driven disinformation campaigns during crisis periods. Using a qualitative descriptive design, this study employs library research and digital observation methods to analyze a variety of sources—academic publications, digital media artifacts, and case studies—related to disinformation. Data were collected through purposive sampling of literature and observed disinformation trends on social platforms. The data were analyzed thematically to classify the types of AI-assisted disinformation and examine their social, political, and psychological impacts. The results reveal that AI technologies significantly amplify the scale, speed, and believability of disinformation. Deep-fake content was found to influence public opinion by mimicking credible figures, while NLP-generated fake news exploits confirmation bias to spread ideologically charged narratives. Meanwhile, AI bots disrupt online discourse by creating echo chambers and undermining trust in public institutions. These dynamics were particularly evident in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and climate change denial movements. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated approach to mapping AI-powered disinformation as both a technological and socio-political phenomenon. It proposes a tripartite mitigation framework involving technological detection systems, regulatory policy interventions, and media literacy campaigns to enhance societal resilience. This research contributes to the growing discourse on information disorder by offering a critical lens on how AI can both exacerbate and help solve the global crisis of trust and truth.

Abstract

This paper offers an observation at socio-economic impact of some Muslim non-indigenes on the development of Karmo community in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. It is suggested that the proximity of this community to Abuja could be one of the factors that attracted some non-indigenes including Muslims to take advantage of residing among its natives for decades in the place. The paper highlights different non-indigene tribes of Nigeria who are also located in the community apart from Muslims. It attempts to reveal variant socio-economic impacts that some non-indigenes particularly Muslims are contributing to the growth and development of this community that ranges from the tailoring work, transportation services, trading works, Mai-shayi tea spots and establishment of Islamic centres among others. It examines the development of Karmo community through these aforementioned processes by some Muslim non-indigenes since their settlement. This research employs survey method which data were collected through the in-depth interview technique along with the complementary of literary source materials for its compilation. Finally, the paper concludes by proffering some recommendations that will foster the economic growth and development of people in community as a whole.

Abstract

The management and distribution of zakat to the asnaf muallaf (new converts to Islam) represent a critical aspect of social finance. Although discussions regarding muallaf have been ongoing for centuries, there exist diverse interpretations of the asnaf muallaf category among the four major Islamic schools of thought. Various interpretations have been proposed concerning the definition of muallaf and the necessity of continuing zakat distribution to this group. This study aims to explore the concept and management model of muallaf within the Islamic Council of Sarawak (Majlis Islam Sarawak or MIS). Employing a qualitative approach, the study utilizes document analysis and interviews to gather information. The findings reveal that zakat distribution in Sarawak is predominantly focused on muallaf who have recently embraced Islam. However, individuals inclined toward Islam, who are also included in the MIS's interpretation, appear to receive less explicit attention in the implementation of zakat distribution. This study is expected to contribute to the enhancement of asnaf muallaf management in Sarawak and serve as a reference for zakat institutions and religious bodies in improving zakat administration for the asnaf muallaf group.
