The Journal of Community Dedication is a national journal which contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of the application of various fields of science including education, engineering, agriculture, social humanities, computers and health. The Journal of Community Devation is published twice a year, namely January and July. The Journal of Community Devation contains articles on downstream research on community organizations, industry and related agencies. We hope that this journal can be used as a means of information for readers and is useful for increasing Community Service activities. Apart from that, it is hoped that this journal can provide inspiration to implementers of Community Service activities to create new innovations and creativity.

Abstract

Islamic religious education must be adapted to the challenges and opportunities that exist in the industrial revolution 4.0 era because advances in information and communication technology greatly influence daily life. The emphasis on Islamic religious education in the industrial revolution 4.0 era must include several important elements. First, the use of technology in religious teaching is very important. The millennial generation, which tends to be active in the digital world, can be used to convey religious messages through social media, mobile applications and online platforms. Second, Islamic religious education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 must actively involve human resources. To increase their understanding of religion, teachers must provide opportunities for their students to talk, share opinions, and ask questions. Third, Islamic religious education must emphasize that Islamic values ​​are relevant to the social and global context faced by the millennial generation. Religious messages must be connected to social, environmental, peace and human rights issues, so that the millennial generation can see the relationship between religion and their daily lives. Fourth, Islamic religious education must teach human resources to have the ability to think critically and apply religious teachings in a broader context. They must also be taught to understand religious texts contextually and rationally. In the era of industrial revolution 4.0, Islamic religious education must adapt to technological developments and social challenges faced by the millennial generation. Technology integration, active participation, the importance of Islamic values ​​and the development of critical thinking are important aspects for forming a meaningful and meaningful understanding of religion for the millennial generation.

Abstract

Perkembangan penelitian multidisipliner di lingkungan akademik timbul sebagai respon terhadap permasalahan kompleks yang tidak dapat diselesaikan hanya dengan pendekatan satu bidang ilmu saja. Pendekatan lintas disiplin ilmu menjadi penting untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih holistik, namun di sisi lain tetap memunculkan berbagai tantangan dalam perbedaan pandangan tersebut, khususnya dalam aspek etika penelitian. Artikel ini akan membahas tantangan etika dalam kajian penelitian multidisipliner dengan mengambil studi kasus di lingkungan universitas. Tujuan utama dalam penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan sudut pandang serta perbedaan standar dan nilai antar bidang ilmu. Pentingnya pedoman etika khusus yang digunakan untuk membuat penelitian menjadi bahan yang tajam akan pengetahuan dan memberikan pemahaman yang mendasar bagi pengembangan pedoman etika penelitian di masa yang mendatang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' attitudes in communicating with supervisors, as well as the factors that influence these attitudes. Effective communication between students and supervisors is very important in supporting the smooth running of the academic guidance process, which ultimately contributes to the achievement of educational goals. Through a qualitative approach, this study identified that students' attitudes are influenced by psychological factors, social norms, academic experiences, and the communication media used. These findings indicate that an open, proactive, and respectful attitude from students can improve the quality of interactions with supervisors. This study also provides recommendations for students to further develop their communication skills, and for lecturers to create an environment that supports constructive communication.

Abstract

Academic ethics, which include the principles of honesty, integrity, responsibility, and mutual respect, are seen as an important foundation in creating a conducive learning environment and producing quality graduates. This study will explore how violations of academic ethics, such as plagiarism and cheating, can damage the integrity of the learning process and lower the standard of educational quality. In addition, this study will also analyze the implications of enforcing academic ethics on the development of student character, institutional reputation, and graduates' contributions to society. The results of the analysis indicate that violations of academic ethics, such as plagiarism, cheating on exams, and data fabrication, can significantly damage the quality of education by lowering academic standards, inhibiting the development of critical thinking, and reducing trust in the education system. In contrast, strong enforcement of academic ethics is positively correlated with improved learning quality, the development of responsible student character, and the good reputation of educational institutions. The implications of this study highlight the importance of internalizing academic ethics values ​​through clear institutional policies, effective socialization, and consistent enforcement of sanctions in order to realize optimal educational quality.

Abstract

Social media is a way of communicating between one party and another, which is done online so that people can interact with each other without being limited by space and time. The use of social media networks can have positive and negative impacts on its users. Social media has become an integral part of student life, which can offer convenience in communicating and accessing information. However, this convenience also raises challenges to academic ethics values ​​such as integrity, honesty, and responsibility. Through surveys and quantitative data analysis, this study investigates the correlation between the intensity of social media use and unethical behavior such as plagiarism, cheating on exams, and the dissemination of inaccurate information related to academic assignments. The results of the study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the influence of social media on the formation of students' academic character and its implications for the quality of higher education. However, on the other hand, social media also has the potential to facilitate collaboration and access to diverse learning resources. These findings are also expected to be the basis for developing effective strategies and policies to promote academic ethics in the digital era.

Abstract

Academic relations between students and supervisors are crucial elements in supporting the success of final assignments in higher education. However, in practice, there is still a mismatch between the expected academic norms and student behavior in the guidance process. This study aims to examine the understanding and application of academic rules by students, with a focus on aspects of communication, discipline, and scientific responsibility. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature studies and descriptive observations. The results show that many students have not applied academic ethics consistently, reflected in the use of informal language in communication, absence without confirmation, and lack of initiative in completing revisions. This indicates weak internalization of academic values and minimal systematic guidance since the beginning of the study. These findings emphasize the need for ongoing institutional intervention through the integration of academic ethics in orientation programs, scientific communication training, and the preparation of applicable guidance guidelines. These efforts are expected to build an ethical, professional academic culture and support the success of student studies holistically..

Abstract

The digital transformation that has hit various aspects of life has also changed the face of education, especially in terms of literacy. In the era of social media, literacy skills are no longer limited to reading and writing skills, but include the ability to understand, evaluate, and produce digital information ethically and critically. This study aims to examine the role of Indonesian language learning in shaping digital literacy skills of students at SMP Negeri 2 Berastagi. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with case studies. The results of the study show that the integration of digital content and social media into Indonesian language learning significantly improves students' digital literacy, including critical thinking skills, digital communication, and ethics of interacting in cyberspace.

Abstract

Academic ethics compliance is a fundamental aspect in higher education that is not only related to academic honesty, but also affects the quality of intellectual interactions, including in class discussions. This study aims to determine strategies to improve students' academic ethics compliance in class discussions by analyzing the roles of education, lecturers, technology, and academic culture. The results of the study indicate that students' academic ethics compliance can be improved through systematic and continuous education, the role of lecturers as role models, the use of technology to monitor and supervise student activities, and the formation of a positive academic culture. Thus, students' academic ethics compliance in class discussions can be improved and create a positive and productive academic environment, thereby improving the quality of learning and achieving academic goals more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the types of meetings conducted at SMP IT Ash-Shiddiqin as part of institutional management in an integrated Islamic education setting. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving key informants from the school environment. The findings reveal two main types of regularly held meetings: weekly and monthly meetings, along with several specific meetings such as curriculum and activity planning meetings. Each meeting varies in structure, frequency, and purpose based on the school’s managerial needs. Weekly meetings focus more on internal coordination and evaluation within the junior high school level, while monthly meetings involve all educational units under the foundation. Meeting effectiveness is determined by the clarity of the agenda, active participation of members, and systematic follow-up documented through official minutes. The results indicate that successful meeting management depends not only on how often meetings are held but also on the quality of the process and the involvement of all school stakeholders. This study recommends a more structured system of classification and documentation to optimize the strategic function of meetings in achieving educational objectives.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis manajemen sarana dan prasarana dalam mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran di Pesantren Darul Falah Aek Songsongan. Fokus utama kajian ini adalah menelusuri proses perencanaan, pengadaan, pemanfaatan, pemeliharaan, hingga evaluasi sarana dan prasarana yang dilakukan di lingkungan pesantren, serta dampaknya terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran santri. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan sarpras dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan mengedepankan nilai-nilai religius dan semangat gotong royong, meskipun belum didukung sistem administrasi yang terdokumentasi secara formal. Keterbatasan dana dan fasilitas disiasati melalui swadaya masyarakat, infak santri, serta bantuan dari alumni dan donatur. Pengelolaan sarpras yang berbasis nilai tersebut terbukti mampu mendukung kenyamanan belajar dan keberlangsungan kegiatan pendidikan, meskipun masih terdapat kelemahan pada aspek evaluasi dan fasilitas digital. Temuan ini merekomendasikan perlunya pengembangan sistem dokumentasi, pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, dan perluasan jejaring kemitraan agar pengelolaan sarpras menjadi lebih efektif, efisien, dan berkelanjutan dalam konteks pendidikan pesantren.
