Abstract

This study examines the acceptance of vasectomy procedures in the family from the perspective of Maqasid al-Sharia, emphasizing the application of sharia objectives in determining the legal and ethical limits of vasectomy implementation. This research focuses on how the principles of the protection of the soul (hifz al-nafs), heredity (hifz al-nasl), reason (hifz al-'aql), religion (hifz al-din), and property (hifz al-mal) can be used as a basis for consideration in the standardization of vasectomy procedures. This research uses a normative qualitative approach through literature studies by analyzing scientific journals, classical and contemporary fiqh literature, and fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council. The data were analyzed descriptively and interpretively to identify the relevance between medical procedures and the principles of Islamic law. The results of the study show that vasectomy can be accepted on a limited and conditional basis in Islam if it is done based on medical needs, consent of both partners, in accordance with medical standards, and considering the benefits that outweigh the potential harms. In addition, the procedure must not contradict the basic principles of sharia and must remain within the framework of maintaining family welfare and social harmony. The study concludes that the standardization of vasectomy procedures is essential to ensure medical safety, ethical responsibility, and conformity with the objectives of Maqasid al-Sharia. Therefore, systematic and structured guidelines are needed so that the practice of vasectomy can be carried out safely, ethically, and in accordance with sharia principles in the life of modern society.

Abstract

This article aims to examine divorce from the perspective of Islamic law which leads to the need for a paradigm shift from a legalistic approach to an ethical approach. So far, divorce is often understood as a legal action that is legal or illegal, thus ignoring the social reality and the layered impact it causes, especially for women and children. This research departs from anxiety over the distance between epistemological-doctrinal and sociological legal norms of divorce. This research is a qualitative research with a philosophical-paradigmatic conceptual analysis method on the epistemology of Islamic law. The results of the study show that the reduction of divorce in the legality aspect has led to a reduction in the dimensions of ethics, responsibility, and substantive justice in the practice of talaq. The article also asserts that the principles of bi al-ma'rūf and tasrīḥ bi iḥsān need to be positioned as epistemological norms that bridge the gap between normative law and the social reality of divorce. This study concludes that understanding divorce as a socio-legal process requires the involvement of ethical values, empathy, and collective responsibility in each stage of divorce. Thus, Islamic divorce law functions not only as a legal instrument, but also as a conflict resolution mechanism oriented towards substantive justice and social welfare.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the need for curriculum implementation, analyze the obstacles to the implementation of deep learning, and explore adaptive curriculum development strategies in improving students' critical thinking skills in the context of the Independent Curriculum and pesantren values. This research is here to fill the limitations of previous studies that have not discussed the integration of deep learning approaches in the curriculum of religious education in Islamic boarding school-based vocational schools. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design at SMK Miftahul Huda Limbangan. The research participants were selected purposively involving PABP teachers, curriculum managers, and students who were directly involved in the implementation of the curriculum. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis in the form of syllabus and teaching modules. To minimize the subjectivity of interpretation, the validity of the data is strengthened through source triangulation, which is comparing the results of interviews, observations, and institutional documents, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results show that teachers need interactive learning strategy training and flexible curriculum development, while curriculum managers emphasize the importance of contextual teaching materials and external collaboration. Students prefer discussion-based learning methods, educational games, and practical projects. This study also found implementation obstacles that include limited learning time and facilities, learning culture that is still memorization oriented, and teacher readiness and student participation that are not optimal. The research concludes that the optimization of the deep-learning-based PABP curriculum can support the development of more adaptive and participatory Islamic education through teacher capacity building, contextual learning strategies, and project-based assessments relevant to 21st century competencies.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the existence of Sharia Economic Law in the national legal order in Indonesia. The research uses normative legal research methods by examining primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials related to research problems. This study focuses on the existence of Sharia Economic Law in the national legal system, the principles of sharia economics, and the development of the sharia economy in Indonesia. Through this approach, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the position and role of Sharia Economic Law in the Indonesian legal system. The results of the study show that: (1) historically Sharia Economic Law has existed in Indonesia since the colonial period, although it is still in the early stages of development as an effort to confront the Dutch capitalist system. The establishment of banking institutions by Aria Wiraatmaja in 1898 became one of the initial solutions for national economic development which was substantively relevant to the concept of musharakah from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law; (2) the existence of Western Economic Law, especially treaty law that regulates the rights and obligations of the parties, has relevance to the theory of engagement in Sharia Economic Law so that Sharia Economic Law also functions as a reinforcement of existing law (li ta'kid); (3) Sharia Economic Law as a derivation of the religious beliefs of Muslims which is closely related to the concept of theology and muamalah occupies a position as part of efforts to formalize Islamic sharia into national law; and (4) the existence of Sharia Economic Law in the national legal system reflects the form of law obedience or the obedience of the Muslim community to God's law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of religious tolerance from the perspective of Sufi Abd al-Karim al-Jilli and its relevance to religious moderation in Indonesia. Although many studies on tolerance and Sufism have been conducted, there are still research gaps in systematically linking the metaphysical framework of al-Jilli, especially through the concept of al-Insan al-Kamil, with the problem of contemporary religious intolerance in Indonesia. This research focuses on three main aspects, namely: (1) the conceptualization of tolerance according to al-Jilli, (2) his views on religious and social diversity, and (3) the relevance of his thinking in the context of religious life in Indonesia today. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research, by utilizing primary sources in the form of al-Jilli's works, especially al-Insan al-Kamil, and supported by relevant secondary literature. Data analysis is carried out through a thematic content analysis approach with coding, categorization, and interpretation stages. The results of the study show that the concept of tolerance of al-Jilli is rooted in an esoteric-universalistic view that views the plurality of religions within the framework of the unity of divine reality. However, this view is not interpreted as an equalization of all religions, but rather as an ethical basis for respecting differences without eliminating theological boundaries. This research provides a theoretical contribution in the form of a more systematic interpretation of the concept of tolerance within the framework of al-Jilli's Sufism metaphysics, as well as a practical contribution in the form of an interpretive framework that can be used in strengthening the academic position while increasing the relevance of al-Jilli's thought in responding to the dynamics of contemporary diversity.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of congregational prayer of the sunnah prayer as a Ramadan tradition at the Great Mosque of Palopo City using the living hadith approach. The focus of the research is directed at how the hadith about the prayer of the rosary is actualized in the religious practices of the Muslim community. This research is a field research with a qualitative-descriptive approach that integrates the study of hadith and phenomenology to analyze the textual basis of hadith as well as the religious experience of the congregation. The research participants were selected purposively, consisting of mosque administrators and worshippers involved in the implementation of congregational prayer during Ramadan. Data obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and data validity are maintained through source triangulation, continuous observation, and cross-checking between interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the practice of praying the prayer in congregation is driven by the meaning of the congregation towards the last ten nights of Ramadan as a time that has high spiritual value and is related to the search for lailat al-qadr. Although there is no explicit guidance from the Prophet Muhammad (saw) that links the prayer of the beads with the search for lailat al-qadr. This practice reflects the religious initiative of the congregation in optimizing the times that are considered sacred while strengthening the collective religiosity in the mosque community. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of the study of living hadith by showing that the practice of communal rituals can be a medium for negotiating religious meaning, spirituality, and social cohesion in urban Muslim societies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of psychological approaches and Islamic spiritual values in managing students' anger through the meaning of the hadith "Do not be angry, for you paradise." This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach carried out at YAPI Sunni Tegalgondo High School. The research data was obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving 15 grade XII students and 3 teachers who were active in character development and religious education. The results of the study showed that students tended to respond to anger by choosing silence, avoiding confrontation, and doing spiritual reflection through prayer and remembrance. These behaviors are influenced by school culture, religious guidance, and students' efforts to maintain harmony in social relations with peers. Teachers have an important role to play in integrating spiritual advice, emotional mentoring, mindfulness practices, and relaxation techniques into learning and counseling activities. The combination of psychological approaches and Islamic values has been shown to help students in reducing emotional tension, increasing self-awareness, and strengthening interpersonal relationships. However, the effectiveness of the approach is influenced by the student's level of emotional maturity, family background, and the individual's ability to deal with pressure. This study concludes that the integration of psychological and spiritual approaches can support students' emotional development if applied consistently in the educational environment. These efforts are expected to be able to form students' emotional intelligence, resilience, and psychological well-being in a more holistic manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the thoughts of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili in Tafsir Al-Munir regarding verses about iron and its relevance to the development of modern science. The study focused on four groups of verses, namely Surah Al-Isra': 50, Al-Kahf: 96, Saba': 10–11, and Al-Hadid: 25, which were selected based on their relationship with the theme of metal materials, the process of processing iron, the strength of materials, and their useful function for human life. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research and thematic analysis (maudhu'i). To minimize subjectivity in connecting interpretation and science, this study limits the analysis to conceptual and correlative aspects, not to claims of direct scientific proof of Qur'anic verses. The data was analyzed through the interpretation of the text of the interpretation of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili which was then compared contextually with scientific findings in the field of modern metal materials and technology. The results of the study show that Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's interpretation of iron verses contains functional meanings related to the strength, flexibility, and use of metals in human life. The concept has relevance to the development of modern technologies, although the relationships found are inspiring-conceptual, not scientific causality. This study concludes that the verses about iron in the Qur'an can be understood as a source of ethical-intellectual value and inspiration in the development of material science and technology, as well as showing the contribution of the integrative interpretation of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili in building a dialogue between Islamic studies and modern science.
