Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of art according to Seyyed Hossein Nasr and its relevance to the art of Zafin Dance which is part of the Arab-Indonesian marriage tradition. This research uses a library research method by examining various sources such as scientific journals, books, and academic papers related to Islamic art philosophy and Arab-Indonesian cultural practices. The main focus of this research is to analyze the aesthetic and spiritual dimensions of the Zafin Dance within the framework of sacred art as described by Nasr. The results of the study show that, first, the concept of art according to Hossein Nasr sees beauty as a reflection of the majesty and beauty of God, which is manifested in the harmony of human movements, rhythms, and expressions. Second, based on the classification of art according to Nasr, the Zafin Dance is classified as a sacred art because it is rooted in spiritual values and has a direct connection with religious traditions. The integration between dance movements and spiritual music makes the Zafin Dance not only entertainment, but also a means of contemplation and a reminder of the Creator. Third, in the Arab-Indonesian marriage tradition, the Zafin Dance has a symbolic meaning as an expression of gratitude and happiness for the marriage, as well as a form of spiritual appreciation that leads people to peace of soul through awareness of the greatness of God and His Messenger. This research confirms that the Zafin Dance functions not only as a performing art, but also as an aesthetic and spiritual expression that represents the unity between beauty, religiosity, and culture in the view of Islamic art as formulated by Seyyed Hossein Nasr.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze risk management in zakat management based on Zakat Core Principles (ZCP), which includes aspects of legal institutions, governance, supervision, risk management, intermediation functions, and compliance with sharia governance. The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, equipped with in-depth interview techniques. The descriptive approach aims to provide a systematic, factual, and accurate picture of zakat management practices in the context of the management institution. The results of the study show that there are four main categories of risks in zakat management, namely reputational risk and muzakki loss, operational risk, distribution risk, and zakat transfer risk between countries. These risks have the potential to hinder the optimization of zakat management if they are not managed appropriately and systematically. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a risk management strategy that is integrated with the Zakat Core Principles to increase public trust and ensure a more effective, transparent, and sustainable distribution of zakat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Qur'an-based character education as an effort to prevent bullying at SMPIT Insan Robbani, and analyze the concept of living Qur'an that is manifested in the program. Using a qualitative case study method with a living Qur'an approach, 9 participants (teachers and students) were involved through observational data collection techniques, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study show that bullying prevention at SMPIT Insan Robbani is carried out through three main programs: Islamic Personal Development (BPI), which specifically instills Qur'anic values, such as the prohibition of insulting (Surah Al-Hujurat: 11), Counseling Guidance (BK), and Islamic Spiritual Extracurricular (Rohis) which plays a role in habituating positive behavior and providing religious-based solutions. Analysis of the living Qur'an identified that the program reflects three forms of Qur'anic reception: Exegesis Reception, in which teachers interpret and instill an understanding of anti-bullying verses; Functional Reception, utilizing the Qur'an as a source of solutions and spiritual guidance in BK services and improving student behavior (according to Surah Yunus: 57); and Socio-Cultural Reception, forming school traditions and culture that reflect family values, harmony, and habituation of positive behavior to prevent violence.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the history, process, and impact of imperialism carried out by the British Government through the East India Company (EIC) on the existence of the Mughal Empire in India. This study uses a historical research methodology that includes four main stages, namely, heuristic (source collection), criticism (source verification), interpretation (source interpretation), and historiography (historical writing). The results of the study show that British imperialism had a significant impact on the sustainability of the Mughal Empire, both in terms of politics, economy, and society. Some of the important findings include the loss of the kingdom's political sovereignty, the shrinking of the territory, the weakening of military power, and the increasing economic burden on the community due to the exploitative tax system. These findings suggest that British colonialism not only changed the political structure of the Mughal Empire, but also brought about fundamental changes in the social and economic order of Indian society. Thus, this research makes an important contribution in enriching the literature on British colonialism in India by presenting an in-depth analysis of the transition of power and the legacy of imperialism.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth and compare the concept of children's education according to two great figures from two different intellectual traditions, namely Imam Al-Ghazali as a classical Islamic thinker and Jean-Jacques Rousseau as a philosopher from the modern Western world. Al-Ghazali emphasized that children's education should be oriented towards the formation of a whole human being, not only through intellectual development, but also through the spiritual and moral dimensions. According to him, the focus of education lies in the cultivation of faith, the development of noble morals, and self-control through exemplary methods, positive habituation, advice, supervision, and motivation. Rather, Rousseau viewed education as a natural process that leads children to grow according to their nature, by providing space for freedom, hands-on experience, and the development of independence without excessive intervention. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, through the analysis of primary and secondary works of both figures. The results of the study show that although both depart from different civilization contexts and philosophical paradigms, there is a common view in viewing children as individuals who have natural potential that must be appreciated and developed gradually. Furthermore, the study found that Al-Ghazali and Rousseau's thinking could be integrated to form a holistic paradigm of children's education. The integration results in an approach that balances cognitive, affective, spiritual, and moral aspects, making it relevant to be applied in a contemporary education system oriented towards character formation and humanity.

Abstract

This research aims to examine in depth these normative foundations and their implications for the practice of sharia economic dispute resolution in Indonesia. The success of the development of a national Islamic financial system is highly dependent on the effectiveness of dispute resolution mechanisms, so it is important to examine how Islamic law and positive law offer different but complementary approaches. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to explore developing dispute resolution models. The findings of the study show that in the perspective of Islamic law, the settlement of sharia economic disputes can be carried out through two main models: through judicial authority (qaḍā') and outside the judiciary (taḥkīm or ṣulḥ). Meanwhile, within Indonesia's positive legal framework, there are two main approaches, namely: (1) dispute resolution through litigation processes in judicial institutions, and (2) dispute resolution through non-litigation mechanisms outside of court, such as mediation, arbitration, or other forms of ADR. This study confirms that the diversity of dispute resolution models provides flexibility as well as challenges in efforts to realize justice and legal certainty in sharia economic practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of situational leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance at PAUD Pesantren Anak Sholeh Darul Qur'an Kalianda, Lampung. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing which are systematically compiled based on field findings. The results of the study show that the implementation of situational leadership by school principals has a strategic role in increasing the effectiveness of teacher performance and creating a conducive, collaborative, and productive work environment. The implementation of situational leadership is reflected in four main styles, namely: (1) telling, providing clear directions to teachers in the implementation of tasks; (2) selling, encouraging teacher responsibility and motivation without pressure; (3) participating, strengthening teachers' participation in the decision-making process; and (4) delegating, providing trust and delegation of authority according to the capacity of each teacher. Thus, the situational leadership model has proven to be effective and relevant in supporting the management of Islamic educational institutions, especially in facing managerial challenges and teacher professionalism in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the process of Islamization in Sundanese Tatars through a cultural approach as a complement to the limitations of historical evidence, focusing on the role of myths, proverbs, and proverbs in reflecting the cultural readiness of the community The research uses a qualitative method with a cultural analysis approach to Sundanese mythical texts and proverbs that represent the value system and mentality of the community. The findings show that Sundanese myths and proverbs contain values that describe the psychological and cultural readiness of the community to accept the teachings of Islam. The internality of these values shows that Islamization in Sundanese Tatars occurred through a subtle, integrated, and organically occurring cultural process in people's lives. Islamization in Sundanese Tatars does not only depend on historical figures and events, but also on the acceptance of people's culture as reflected in oral traditions. The cultural approach has proven to be able to fill the historiographical gap and provide a more complete understanding of the process of spreading Islam in this region.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of test techniques as an assessment instrument for the cognitive domain in learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta. The background of this research is the importance of assessments that are able to measure the ability to think at a higher level according to the demands of 21st century education. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that teachers used a combination of objective tests (such as multiple choice) and essay tests to assess students' abilities from low to high cognitive levels based on the revised Bloom Taxonomy. Tests are used not only to assess learning outcomes, but also to provide feedback and improve the learning process. The main challenges faced by teachers include difficulties in compiling HOTS questions, time constraints, and high workloads. To overcome this, schools apply strategies such as question preparation training, collaboration between teachers, and the use of digital technology in the evaluation process. This study concludes that the application of planned test techniques and in accordance with the principles of authentic assessment can increase the effectiveness of cognitive assessment, learning quality, and students' critical thinking skills in the modern education era.

Abstract

This study examines the textbooks and teachers of PAI (Islamic Religious Education) in the process of transmitting Islamic religious knowledge at Madrasah Aliyah, Manado City. Manado City was chosen as one of the tolerant cities in Indonesia where the majority of the population embraces Christianity, while Muslims are a minority. The focus of this research is teachers' perception of textbooks, religious patterns, and teachers' agency in learning Islamic religious subjects. Qualitative methods through in-depth interviews are used as instruments to csollect and analyze research data. The results of this study show that the 2013 PAI Curriculum textbook published by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia is too complex, but not in-depth, so that teachers need to innovate to find teaching resources from the internet. PAI teachers in the city of Manado reject the perception of Madrasah which has been considered as an institution that produces extreme ideas in religion. On the contrary, this study shows religious teachers as agents of religious moderation. Classrooms and teachers become mediators and facilitators for students who gain intolerant-exclusive religious understanding from offline and online recitations. Islamic religious learning in madrassas in the city of Manado is a mechanism to reduce radicalism by making the classroom an arena for discourse to develop religious moderation in the city of Manado.
