Abstract

Mothers of young children often experience parenting stress due to physical and emotional demands, lack of experience, and limited personal time. This condition can affect parenting processes and child development during the golden age. To understand how parenting self-efficacy (PSE) can reduce parenting stress through mindful parenting, an analysis was conducted involving 200 mothers with young children. Mindful parenting was measured using the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ), parenting stress with the Parental Stress Scale (PSS), and PSE with the Self-Efficacy for Parenting Tasks Index (SEPTI). The results showed that PSE moderates the relationship between mindful parenting and parenting stress. The interaction coefficient of 0.0084 with a p-value of 0.024 indicates that higher PSE can strengthen the positive effects of mindful parenting in reducing parenting stress.

Abstract

Nomophobia is a form of discomfort, stress, or anxiety caused by the absence of a mobile phone or other virtualcommunication devices in individuals who frequently use smartphones. Nomophobia can be influenced by severalfactors, such as self esteem and loneliness. This study aims to examine the effect of self esteem on nomophobia, mediated by loneliness, in adolescents. A quantitative research method was employed in this study. The subjects were adolescents aged 13-18 years who are smartphone users, with a sample size of 513 respondents. The instruments used include the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q), The Self-Liking/Self-Competence Scale (SLSC), and the University of California, Los Angeles Loneliness Scale Version 3 (UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3). The analysis technique utilized was mediation analysis using the PROCESS macro by Hayes. The findings of this study indicate that loneliness acts as a mediator in the relationship between self esteem and nomophobia in adolescents, with significance (β = -0.207). It was found that the indirect effect or mediating role accounts for only 29% of the total effect, thus only partially mediating the relationship.

Abstract

This study explores the role of social competence in enhancing the quality of adolescent friendships through parental attachment. Adolescence is a crucial developmental stage characterized by significant physical and psychological changes, where peer relationships, particularly friendships, play a vital role in shaping identity. Previous research has highlighted the importance of parental attachment in influencing adolescents’ social interactions and their ability to form meaningful friendships. Social competence, which refers to the ability to navigate social situations effectively, is considered a key mediator between parental attachment and the quality of friendships. This research aims to delve into how social competence mediates the relationship between parental attachment and the quality of adolescent friendships. The study uses quantitative methods with a purposive sampling technique to collect data from 166 adolescents, utilizing various scales to measure parental attachment, social competence, and friendship quality. Results indicate that social competence significantly mediates the relationship between parental attachment and the quality of friendships, confirming its critical role in fostering positive peer relationships during adolescence.

Abstract

The development of social media has encouraged individuals to increasinglyactively build and manage their self-image online through online self-presentation . This study aimed to adapt and test the psychometriccharacteristics of the Indonesian version of the Presentation of Online SelfScale (POSS) for adolescents. A total of 100 participants participated. 100sample participants with the participant criteria being male, late adolescents, namely 15-25 years old, and active students at Islamic boarding schools. The analysis used included person fit and item fit analysis of the Raschmodel, item-total correlation, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), andreliability testing. These results indicate that all items meet the eligibilitycriteria of the Rasch model, the four-factor structure has been confirmed, andthe model fit index is in the good category. The reliability value is in thereliable category. The reliability value of the instrument The online self-presentation scale in Indonesia is reliable, supported by CFA results thatindicate adequate model fit. These findings indicate that the Indonesianversion of the POSS scale has good psychometric qualities. However, compared to the original version, the reliability coefficient of the adaptedversion is lower, so further research is needed to evaluate the consistency ofthis scale. This scale is expected to serve as a basis for further research onthe psychological dynamics of individuals constructing identities online.

Thisstudy aims to examine the effect of social support on academic stress instudent-athletes, with academic self- efficacy as a mediating variable .Participants in this study were 346 student-athletes aged 18–25 who had beenand were active in sports competitions for at least 1 year. Data analysis usedMediated Regression Analysis of Hayes ' model 4 in SPSS . This meansthat social support not only directly reduces stress but also indirectly throughincreasing academic self- efficacy . Abstract

The development of social media, especially TikTok, has changed the socialinteraction patterns of adolescents and increased the risk of cyberbullyingbehavior . High intensity of TikTok use allows adolescents to be morefrequently exposed to aggressive content, negative comments, andcommunication patterns that have the potential to normalize cyberbullyingbehavior . However, not all adolescents with high TikTok use show the sametendency for cyberbullying, so it is necessary to study the psychologicalfactors that may influence this relationship. This study aims to determine theeffect of TikTok use intensity on cyberbullying behavior in adolescents and toexamine the role of emotional intelligence as a moderating variable. Thestudy used a quantitative correlational approach involving 315 adolescentTikTok users aged 18–21 years who were selected using a purposivesampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the TikTok useintensity scale, the cyberbullying scale, and the emotional intelligence scale.Data were analyzed using moderation analysis through the Hayes process instatistical software. The results showed that TikTok use intensity has apositive effect on cyberbullying behavior in adolescents. In addition, emotional intelligence is known to play a protective role that can weaken therelationship between TikTok use intensity and cyberbullying behavior. Adolescents with higher emotional intelligence tend to be better able tomanage their emotions, control aggressive impulses, and avoid cyberbullyingbehavior in digital interactions . This research emphasizes the importance ofstrengthening emotional intelligence as a preventative measure to reduce therisk of cyberbullying in adolescent social media users.

Abstract

This study aims to examine, students perceptions of the Cumulative Grade Point Average GPA) within thecontext of academic life and future career prospects. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptiveexploratory design, utilizing the Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Participants consisted of eight active students in their6th to 8th semesters, selected via purposive sampling based on criteria of having a GPA ≥ 3.5 and relevant academicexperience. FGD session lasting 74 minutes, recorded and transcribed. Analyzed using thematic analysis, encompassing the stages of open coding, categorization, and theme development. To enhance data credibility, the study appliedsource triangulation through comparisons among participants and reflective discussions throughout the analysis process. The results indicate a duality in the perception of the GPA. It serves as an indicator of academic achievement, socialappreciation, and a gateway to academic and professional opportunities, yet it is simultaneously viewed as a constructthat does not fully represent a student’s actual competence. The GPA functions as an administrative ”gatekeeper,” yet itis not the primary determinant of long-term career success. This study emphasizes the importance of more holistic approach to higher education, integrating academic achievement with non-academic skill development as the foundationfor graduate readiness.
