Abstract

As a health insurance programme implemented by the government, the Social Security Administration for Health, or BPJS Health, often raises questions regarding the level of patient satisfaction in receiving health services. However, as a mandatory programme for all Indonesian citizens, the presence of BPJS Health affects the number of hospital visits due to the ease of financing treatment. The purpose of this study is to explain the relationship between patient satisfaction and the use of BPJS Health and to describe the perceptions of BPJS Health and non BPJS Health patients on the quality of inpatient services at Hospital X. The method used for this study is a quantitative approach with the research location at Hospital X in Depok City, West Java. There is no difference in the level of patient satisfaction between BPJS Health and non BPJS Health patients towards inpatient services. This article is expected to contribute to affirmation for hospitals in providing services that do not differentiate services for general patients, insurance, and BPJS Health.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is considered scary because it is chronic and leads to complications from other serious diseases. However, the good news is that DM can be prevented and controlled. The heart, blood vessels, kidneys, eyes, nerves, and other organs can become involved. Therefore, non-pharmacological (lifestyle modification) control of physical activity is necessary to manage DM. One solution is yoga practice. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of yoga exercises in reducing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus sufferers. This research design is an analytic experiment with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group approach and involving a control group not treated with the same pre and post-treatment samples (paired samples). A sample of 24 people. The research location is Tamalanrea Community Health Center, Makassar, Indonesia. The results showed a significant difference in GDS levels before and after yoga exercise. This is supported by the mean value of GDS levels, which decreased 74.25 mg/dL after yoga exercise. The correlation strength of the intervention is 0.965, so it can be said that yoga exercise is powerful in reducing GDS levels in DM patients. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in GDS levels before and after yoga exercise. The research contribution is recommended to provide education to patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 to increase physical activity as a way of non-pharmacological therapy to keep blood sugar levels in a normal state.

Abstract

Children who experience stunting in the early stages of life up to five years of age will not reach their maximum physical and mental/intelligence potential in adulthood. The problem of stunting is in the world's attention, and it is evident that one of the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is to reduce cases of stunting worldwide. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the history of CED in pregnant women and the incidence of stunting. This research method is analytic with a case-control retrospective approach. The sampling technique used was proportional sampling, which in this study was divided into two groups, namely 24 groups of toddlers with stunting and a control group of 24 toddlers who were not stunted in Kacangan Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency, Indonesia. The results show a significant relationship between the history of CED during pregnancy and the incidence of stunting. It is hoped that midwives can provide counseling and monitor the nutritional status of pregnant women, bearing in mind that if the nutritional status of pregnant women is good, it can reduce the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The contribution of this research is to provide information regarding the importance of the nutritional status of pregnant women.

Abstract

Public speaking ability is essential for healthcare students as educators and health promoters. However, students need more confidence in their ability to deliver education in public. Students also experience anxiety before becoming a public speaker. The study aims to identify common barriers that hinder students from feeling comfortable while speaking in public. The method used a phenomenological approach. Research location at Faletehan University, Indonesia. The sample in this study was 12 healthcare students to explore experiences related to barriers in preparing for public speaking. The technique used purposive sampling to select participants who have experienced difficulty or fear in public speaking. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results show that through thematic analysis, it was observed that the participants encountered physical and psychological obstacles. The findings revealed six themes, including physical anxiety, traumatic experiences, lack of technical methods and practice, the importance of personal branding, self-actualization, and the impact of social media. Self-actualization, a deeper understanding of personal branding, and the combination of EFT techniques emerge as effective ways to address the obstacles and hesitations faced by healthcare students before public speaking. This research provides information on overcoming barriers and hesitations in health promotion practices carried out by students in the community.

Abstract

Smartphone apps have been used to promote healthy eating and weight management, as they offer low costs, reduce burdens, and overcome the limitations of traditional in-person programs. The aim of this research is to determine the use of smartphones as a technology-based intervention on managing nutrition. The review method focuses on the relationship between smartphones and healthy diet and nutrition, analyzing 178 articles published up to 2023. The review identified three qualitative studies and five randomized controlled trials investigating the effectiveness and acceptability of smartphone apps for promoting healthy eating and weight management. The results show that a study on the effectiveness of smartphone applications in promoting healthy eating and weight management found that middle-aged men in Australia support using the Internet for improving dietary habits and physical activity, as long as the interventions are user-friendly and efficient . However, they show low commitment to online activities and reluctance to use regular mobile phones for health behavior modification. The study also found that smartphone apps can be effective in promoting healthy eating and weight loss, making them a potentially valuable and cost-effective tool for improving dietary habits, nutrition, and combating obesity. In conclusion, Smartphone applications could serve as an effective and affordable method for improving dietary habits and tackling obesity among the general public. Measurements of diet and nutrition taken through mobile devices are often accurate. The contribution of this research is to increase smartphone users' knowledge to help in monitoring their food consumption and managing their weight.

Abstract

Medication adherence is important for people with chronic renal failure (CRF) undergoing hemodialysis. Lowering blood pressure can reduce symptoms and improve the long-term health of hemodialysis patients.  Hypertension is more prevalent and more complex to control in patients with chronic kidney disease and can also be a cause or result of the condition. This study aimed to investigate the association between blood pressure and hemodialysis therapy adherence in patients with renal failure. This study employed a descriptive correlation method to examine patients with CRF who are currently undergoing hemodialysis therapy and have a history of hypertension. In this study, 31 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data on medication adherence were collected by questionnaire, while blood pressure readings were used to examine the prevalence of hypertension. The research location is the government hospital in Sukabumi, Indonesia. A chi-square statistical test was used for data analysis. The result showed a relationship between hemodialysis therapy compliance and the incidence of hypertension in patients with chronic renal failure who are undergoing hemodialysis therapy. In patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis, there is a significant positive correlation between blood pressure and treatment adherence. Research contributes that adherence to the prescribed hemodialysis regimen may play a crucial role in the management and prevention of hypertension in this patient population.

Abstract

No patient does not have the desire to recover in a short time. Apart from assistance from medical drugs, the patient's quality of life is another determining factor. Hypertensive patients show different quality of life. It cannot be confirmed that patients with more extended illness have a worse quality of life. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the length of illness and the quality of life of hypertensive patients. The research method uses a correlational analytic cross-sectional approach. The research location is Jatikarya Community Health Center, Bekasi, Indonesia. Sample selection used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of inpatients with a medical diagnosis of hypertension, totaling 33 samples. The research instrument used the DQLCTQ quality of life questionnaire and duration of illness checklist. Analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate statistics using chi-square. The study results showed that most patients (42.4%) had a prolonged illness category of 1-5 years. The quality of life of the majority of hypertensive patients (51.5%) is in the poor category. The conclusion of the statistical hypothetical test shows a significant relationship between the duration of illness and the quality of life of hypertensive patients. The contribution of this research is to provide evidence of the importance of maintaining the patient's quality of life to speed up the recovery period from the disease.

Abstract

Every parent does not want stunting cases to occur in their children. Stunting in children can be caused by direct and indirect factors. One direct cause is a lack of nutritious food intake. The role of parents, especially mothers, as indirect causes plays a vital role in fulfilling children's nutrition. This research aims to analyze the relationship between a mother's knowledge and the incidence of stunting. The research method uses an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, totaling 68 respondents, with the criteria being mothers who had toddlers aged 1-2 years. Research location in the city of Bekasi, Indonesia. The research instrument used a questionnaire and measurements of body length compared with age. Data analysis with bivariate and univariate statistics. The research results show that the majority of mothers have good knowledge, and the majority do not experience stunting. Statistical tests using Chi-Square show that there is a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of stunting in mothers of toddlers 1-2 years old. The contribution of this research is evidence that mother's knowledge is essential for children's growth. One alternative strategy to overcome the increase in stunting cases is to strengthen the understanding of mothers.
