Abstract

The research aims to improve learning outcomes of giving opinion in English through the Discovery Learning model. The data sources of this research were students of class XI IPA 1 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bengkulu City, totaling 32 students. The time of this research was carried out in the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year for 4 months. The data collected are quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data is data obtained from formative test results in each cycle. While qualitative data in the form of observations in each learning cycle. The data obtained is converted to the success criteria to determine whether student learning outcomes can be seen how the improvement. The results of the study revealed that in the Pre-cycle the average value of students was 59.84 with 13 of 32 students who completed the cycle. I, which was 69.38 with 17 students who finished then in the second cycle it increased again, namely 82.81 with 28 students who completed from 32 students in class XI IPA 1 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bengkulu City. The percentage of KKM achievement also increased from 40.63% in the pre-cycle, increased in the first cycle of 53.13% and increased again to 87.50% in the second cycle. The conclusion is that efforts to improve English learning outcomes for giving opinion materials by applying the Discovery Learning model have been proven to improve student learning outcomes in lessons well so that they are feasible to be applied at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bengkulu City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the duties, functions, and responsibilities of education management. This study elaborates the theoretical and practical basis on the importance of the principal's role in managing education both in terms of duties, functions, and responsibilities. The methodology or approach used in this paper uses a library research method or approach, while data collection is carried out by reviewing and exploring several journals, books, and documents (both printed and electronic) as well as sources of data and or other information. deemed relevant to the study. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. To maintain the accuracy of the assessment and prevent misinformation in data analysis, inter-library checking and rereading of the literature are carried out.

Abstract

The education office has been present in Indonesia since independence was proclaimed. In its development the work program of the service always experiences amazingly fast dynamics. This is in order to meet the needs of the educational academic community in the field. This study aims to describe the duties and responsibilities of the Department of Education in carrying out its program so that it can be useful for the community. The research method used in this research is literature study. The main data in this research is based on published journal articles which are corroborated by arguments about theories in education management. The findings in this study are the education office implements its work program in the duties and main functions of the education office. It has the same meaning as a work program.

Abstract

The implementation of an educational institution such as a school requires competent human resources in their field. For administrative and managerial activities, it is impossible to leave it entirely to the teacher. This is because teachers have their own portion in the teaching and implementation of education. Thus, it takes human resources who have competence in the managerial field. This article aims to describe the duties and responsibilities of school education staff using the literature study method. Research issues that arise due to managerial inequality are discussed theoretically and practically in the field based on published journal articles. The results of research tracking found that education personnel have overly complex tasks and responsibilities. Not only in the managerial field, but also providing motivation for educators to be in an orderly administration so that they also help in the overall school administration process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the duties of a principal as a leader and as a manager to improve the competence of teachers, staff, and all students in the school. As a leader, the principal must be able to provide guidance and supervision, as well as increase the willingness and ability of education staff, open two-way communication and be ready to delegate tasks. As a manager, the principal can deal with various problems at school, thinks analytically, conceptually, always tries to be an intermediary in solving various problems. For this reason, a school principal needs to have the right strategy to establish a harmonious relationship with the environment and have the right strategy to motivate education staff in carrying out various tasks and functions. This study uses a qualitative approach, by describing and outlining the functions and duties of the principal as a leader and manager in the school. Data collection techniques using library research (Library Research) by collecting materials that have to do with research originating from books, scientific journals, literature, and other publications that are worthy of being used as research sources that the author will examine. The results of this study provide comprehensive information and understanding of the principal as a school leader and manager, both in terms of his function and his duties in managing the education unit.

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to examine the function of learning management theory and practice in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, including general policies, implementation, planning, evaluation, and quality assurance of learning when schools were fully closed and partially opened. This qualitative approach with a descriptive method research was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 and SMK Negeri 7 Bengkulu City by involving the principal of SMP Negeri 2 and SMK Negeri 7 Bengkulu City 1 person each and 20 teachers each as research informants. The data were collected using interviews and participant observation. Analytical technique of Miles and Huberman (1989) was used to obtain research results consisting of data reduction activities, data display, and conclusions or data verification. For the validity and reliability of this research, triangulation was carried out, both data, methods, sources, and theories. The results of the study show that the general policies set by schools to administer learning during the Covid-19 pandemic era follow the rules set by the central and regional governments. The principal initiates micro policies related to the implementation of the duties and functions of teachers and the ease of student learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using learning strategies to improve thinking skills on student learning outcomes at SMK Setia Darma Palembang by using experimental methods and the treatment design used in this study is Quasi Experimental Design. The population in this study were students of class XI Accounting at SMK Setia Darma Palembang, from 103 students 70 students were taken to be used as research samples. Data collection techniques are documentation, observation and tests. The effect of using learning strategies to increase thinking skills on learning outcomes in the subjects of creative products and entrepreneurship at SMK Setia Darma Palembang contributed 52.11% and the remaining 47.89% was influenced by other factors. From the results of data analysis, the average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 83.42%, while the average value of learning outcomes obtained by the control class was 68.85%. This shows that there is an effect of using learning strategies to increase thinking skills on student learning outcomes at SMK Setia Darma Palembang.

Abstract

One of the efforts that can be made by principals to improve teacher performance is to carry out academic supervision, namely guidance related to learning. This study aims to determine (1) the effect of academic supervision on teacher performance at SMPN 5 Prabumulih; (2) the influence of the work environment on the performance of teachers at SMPN 5 Prabumulih; (3) the influence of academic supervision and work environment on teacher performance at SMPN 5 Prabumulih. The results showed that academic supervision and work environment had an effect on teacher performance. Therefore, to improve teacher performance, it can be done by implementing academic supervision of the principal and paying attention to the work environment around the teacher.

Abstract

In carrying out academic supervision, the role of a deputy head of the curriculum is needed. The purpose of this study was to dig up information about the role of the vice principal in the curriculum field at MTs Negeri 1 Prabumulih in order to develop the ability of teachers to arrange assessment administration through academic supervision. This study uses a qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects in this study were the Deputy Head of Madrasah in the field of curriculum and teachers. The results showed that: 1) madrasa academic supervision program planning was prepared at the beginning of each new school year; 2) the implementation of academic supervision includes class visits, and observations; 3) the deputy head of the madrasa in the field of curriculum carries out the supervision assessment process for teachers; 4) the implementation of academic supervision has a real impact on improving teacher performance at MTs Negeri 1 Prabumulih City.

Abstract

Academic supervision activities are very important to be carried out in order to help improve teacher competence in managing learning activities well in order to achieve learning objectives. This article aims to examine the strategy of the head of Madrasah at MTsN 1 Prabumulih in improving teacher professionalism through academic supervision activities. This type of research is ex post facto. The results of the study indicate that academic supervision activities carried out by the Madrasah head must start from planning, implementing, and evaluating with the principles of objectivity and continuous improvement. Through this, the professionalism of teachers in schools will be easily achieved and will be able to improve the quality of learning and the quality of educational institutions.
