Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of population, human development index (HDI), and open unemployment rate on poverty levels in ten selected districts of Central Java Province during the period of 2018–2022. Poverty remains a critical socioeconomic issue in Indonesia, especially in rural and semi-urban regions, where disparities in population distribution, human capital, and employment opportunities persist. The study adopts a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis to investigate the determinants of poverty. Data were collected from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Indonesia, encompassing annual figures on population, HDI, unemployment, and poverty rates in each district. The findings of the study reveal that the population variable has a statistically significant effect on poverty indicating that an increase in population size is associated with a rise in poverty rates, likely due to increased pressure on limited resources. Moreover, the human development index shows a significant negative effect on poverty, suggesting that improved education, health, and income levels contribute to poverty reduction. Conversely, the open unemployment rate demonstrates a significant positive impact on poverty, highlighting the critical role of labor market dynamics in influencing household welfare..

Abstract

Productive zakat refers to the management of zakat which aims to produce long-term economic benefits for Mustahik (zakat recipients) through economic empowerment, productive zakat can be an effective instrument to reduce poverty levels and improve community welfare. Tangerang City is one of the cities in Indonesia that has a significant potential poverty rate. In writing this thesis, the author uses qualitative research. Qualitative research is research that goes directly to the object or location of the research to find out directly the current situation and interact with the person concerned. Productive zakat to prosper the mustahik economy is carried out by the Tangerang City National Amil Zakat Agency with a productive zakat program. By being directed to help the community in building economic barns to support their daily needs. And also the allocation of productive zakat is carried out to improve living standards. This is done so that the poor can be empowered and not given compensation or zakat continuously. The mechanism for distributing productive zakat carried out at BAZNAS Tangerang City is the provision of business capital from programs in the form of Z-Mart, Z-Chicken, Z-coffee and Tangerang Emas. This can be seen from the increase in mustahik income after receiving productive zakat assistance. Proper management of productive zakat is able to improve the mustahik economy, especially in increasing income.

Abstract

This study empirically investigates the influence of sharia governance on customer trust and bank reputation among Sharia People's Financing Banks (BPRS) in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Additionally, it analyzes the mediating role of customer trust on BPRS reputation. The research addresses a gap in the existing literature concerning the specific interactions of these variables within the BPRS context. The Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) methodology was employed for data analysis, utilizing secondary data from audited annual financial reports of BPRS for the period 2019-2022, obtained from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) website. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, encompassing BPRS across several regencies/cities in West Sumatra. Key findings indicate that sharia governance, measured by the number of directors and commissioners, has a significant positive influence on customer trust (t-statistic = 4.970, p-value = 0.000). This result affirms that robust sharia governance implementation is crucial for fostering customer trust. However, the findings reveal that sharia governance does not directly and significantly impact BPRS reputation (t-statistic = 0.868, p-value = 0.386), suggesting an indirect influence pathway. Conversely, customer trust demonstrates a highly significant and positive influence on BPRS reputation (t-statistic = 9.330, p-value = 0.000). The implications of this study suggest that for BPRS in West Sumatra, prioritizing strong sharia governance will fundamentally enhance customer trust. This trust, in turn, serves as a primary driver for improving and maintaining the bank's reputation, which is essential for the sustainable growth and stability of sharia financial institutions in the region

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of buying and selling gold on credit from a sharia perspective, focusing on the principles of justice, transparency, and avoidance of elements of usury, gharar, and fraud. This phenomenon is becoming increasingly relevant as the public"s need for gold ownership as an investment instrument or value protection increases, even though they do not have the financial ability to buy in cash. The main problem studied in this study is when gold is still in installment status and has not fully become the property of buyers, especially in emergency conditions. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a library research approach, which involves the analysis of classical and contemporary documents and literature related to fiqh muamalah, including the views of scholars from various schools and contemporary fatwas. The results of the study show that the practice of buying and selling gold on credit has room for ability in Islamic law, especially when gold is treated as a commodity (sil"ah) and not as a medium of exchange (tsaman). Despite differences of opinion among scholars regarding the legality of this transaction, the sharia maqashid approach provides legitimacy as long as the basic principles of sharia are maintained, such as justice, openness of contracts, and protection of weak parties. This research emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive understanding of contracts, payment mechanisms, and risks inherent in transactions so as not to deviate from sharia principles. Thus, the purchase and purchase of gold on credit can still be justified under sharia under certain conditions, as long as it meets strict conditions and signs in order to maintain benefits and avoid harmful practices
