Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model in learning ecosystem material biology on critical thinking and cognitive biology learning outcomes of students. The design of this research is the pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was class X MIA at MAS PAB 2 Helvetia Deli Serdang, where the sample consisted of 2 classes with a simple random sampling technique. Class X MIA-1 as an experimental class uses a guided inquiry learning model, while class X MIA-2 as a control class uses a conventional learning model. Data collection techniques used observation sheets and written tests, consisting of a pretest posttest totaling 40 questions. Data were analyzed using inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of critical thinking research, for the t-test it was found that tcount = 26,286 while ttable = 2,002. The results of the study, for the t test, it was obtained that tcount = 22.551 while ttable = 2.002, it means that tcount > ttable then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion from the results of this study is that there is an influence of the guided inquiry learning model on critical thinking and student learning outcomes at MAS PAB 2 Helvetia Deli Serdang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran guided inquiry dalam pembelajaran biologi materi ekosistem terhadap berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa. Desain penelitian ini yaitu pretest-posttest control grup design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas X MIA di MAS PAB 2 Helvetia Deli Serdang, yang mana sampelnya terdiri dari 2 kelas dengan teknik acak kelas (Simple Random Sampling). Kelas X MIA-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inquiry, sedangkan kelas X MIA-2 sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes tertulis, terdiri dari pretest posttest yang berjumlah 40 soal. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik inferensial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian berpikir kritis,  untuk uji t diperoleh bahwa thitung = 26,286 sedangkan ttabel = 2,002. Hasil belajar, untuk uji t diperoleh bahwa thitung = 22,551 sedangkan ttabel = 2,002, itu berarti bahwa thitung > ttabel maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu ada pengaruh model pembelajaran guided inquiry terhadap berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa di MAS PAB 2 Helvetia Deli Serdang. Abstract

Learning activities are currently carried out online from home in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Appropriate learning alternatives are needed for students in times of pandemics. The purpose of this research is to develop e-modules of ecosystem materials that are expected to support the improvement of student learning outcomes during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in January-July 2021 using the Research and Development (R&D) method in the ADDIE model. The client's goal of the product was tested on a limited basis to 27 class X students. The instruments used in this study are media feasibility validation sheets, learning outcome tests to measure the effectiveness of e-modules and questionnaires of student responses to developed media. The results showed that E-modules that have been developed and validated by experts get a very decent category as a learning medium with a value of 92.85% and e-modules developed can improve student learning outcomes. The conclusion obtained that the e-modules developed are feasible and effectively used as teaching materials to help students in the learning process. Abstrak. Kegiatan pembelajaran pada saat ini dilaksanakan secara daring dari rumah dalam rangka pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19. Dibutuhkan alternatif pembelajaran yang tepat bagi siswa di masa pandemi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan bahan ajar e-modul materi ekosistem yang diharapkan  dapat menunjang peningkatkan hasil belajar siswa disaat pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Juli 2021 dengan menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model ADDIE. Sasaran klien dari produk hasil penelitian ini diujicobakan secara terbatas kepada siswa kelas X dengan jumlah 27 orang. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar validasi kelayakan media, tes hasil belajar untuk mengukur efektivitas e-modul dan angket respon siswa terhadap media yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-modul yang telah dikembangkan dan divalidasi oleh ahli mendapat kategori sangat layak sebagai media pembelajaran dengan nilai 92,85% dan e-modul yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kesimpulan yang didapat bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan layak dan efektif digunakan sebagai bahan ajar untuk membantu siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Learning media in the form of video is a medium that can be used by teachers to be used in learning. Video media contains learning materials that are equipped with pictures and videos that make it easier to understand the material. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of videos, determine the feasibility, responses of teachers, students, and the effectiveness of video media that have been developed to improve learning outcomes. Video media development uses the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Video media products are validated by media experts and material experts with excellent results. The results of the biology teacher's response as well as small group and large group trials obtained very good results. The results of the effectiveness test using the paired-sample t test showed that there was an effect on the use of video media on the insectivorous predation phenomenon in improving student learning outcomes. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the media developed is suitable for use in learning. Key words: Video Media, Online Learning, Insectivorous Predation Phenomen   Abstrak. Media pembelajaran berupa video merupakan media yang bisa dipakai oleh guru untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Media Video memuat materi pembelajaran yang dilengkapi dengan gambar serta video yang memudahkan dalam memahami materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa video, mengetahui kelayakan, respon guru, peserta didik, serta efektivitas media video yang telah dikembangkan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Pengembangan media video menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap analysis, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Produk media video divalidasi oleh ahli media dan ahli materi dengan perolehan hasil sangat baik. Hasil respon guru biologi serta ujicoba kelompok kecil dan kelompok besar diperoleh hasil sangat baik. Hasil uji efektivitas menggunakan uji paired sample t test menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh pada penggunaan media video pada materi fenomena predasi insektivora dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh maka disimpulkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Media Video, Pembelajaran Daring, Fenomena Predasi Insektivora

Abstract

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, students around the world cannot go to college. However, education must continue. Likewise, online plant physiology lectures take place. Researchers are interested in describing the internal factors of students that can influence students in mastering the material in plant physiology lectures during a pandemic. This quantitative descriptive research was conducted on biology education study program students who have taken Plant Physiology lectures in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. A total of 56 respondents were given a questionnaire related to their experiences during online lectures. The academic learning profile is based on students' internal aspects which include attention, memory, visual motor perception, thinking, and language. The profile of attention is that students can still focus on listening to lectures even though the camera in the zoom meeting is turned off (69.9%); memory, namely students can remember and re-explain the practicum steps that have been implemented (58.9%); visual motor perception, students can operate various application technologies used by lecturers during online lectures (60.7%); thinking, students can explain the results of the practicum that has been done (67.9%); and language, students can socialize when coordinating in group assignments (75%). Students can still attend lectures well even from their homes, are familiar with various learning applications, and can still communicate smoothly with their classmates. Key words: profile, plant physiology, online lecture, learning, COVID-19   ABSTRAK Untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID – 19, seluruh mahasiswa di seluruh dunia tidak dapat berkuliah. Namun perkuliahan harus tetap berjalan. Begitu pula perkuliahan matakuliah fisiologi tumbuhan yang berlangsung secara daring. Peneliti tertarik untuk mendeskripsikan faktor internal dari mahasiswa yang dapat mempengaruhi mahasiswa dalam penguasaan materi pada perkuliahan fisiologi tumbuhan selama masa pandemic. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi yang telah menempuh perkuliahan Fisiologi Tumbuhan pada Tahun Akademik 2020-2021. Sebanyak 56 responden diberikan kuesioner terkait pengalaman dirinya selama mengikuti perkuliahan daring. Profil pembelajaran akademik berdasarkan aspek internal mahasiswa yang meliputi attention, memory, persepsi visual motorik, thinking, dan language. Profil dari attention yakni mahasiswa tetap bisa fokus dalam menyimak perkuliahan walau kamera pada zoom meeting dimatikan (69,9%); memory yakni mahasiswa mampu mengingat dan menjelaskan ulang langkah-langkah praktikum yang sudah dilaksanakan (58,9%); persepsi visual motorik, mahasiswa mampu mengoperasikan berbagai teknologi aplikasi yang digunakan dosen selama perkuliahan daring (60,7%); thinking, mahasiswa mampu menjelaskan hasil praktikum yang telah dilakukan (67,9%); dan language, mahasiswa mampu bersosialisasi saat koordinasi dalam pengerjaan tugas kelompok (75%). Selama perkuliahan daring mahasiswa tetap dapat mengikuti perkuliahan dengan baik walau dari rumah masing-masing, sudah terbiasa dengan berbagai aplikasi pembelajaran, dan tetap dapat berkomunikasi lancar dengan teman sekelasnya. Abstract

In this digital era, textbooks are still a reference in learning but mostly in the form of softfiles (BSE). This study aims to determine the feasibility of biology textbooks based on basic competencies in the curriculum. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results is the class XI biology textbooks on the respiratory system and digestive system materials were sufficient in accordance with the basic competencies in the curriculum. One misconception was found in the material for the organs of the digestive system. The types of questions on the competency test have not been directed to higher-order thinking skills. Two writing errors were found. The images presented are relatively less attractive and effective because they only use black and white contrasting colors. Through the results of this study, it is recommended that the learning process use a variety of learning resources that will complement each other. Key words: high school textbook; biological material. Abstrak Pada era digital ini, buku teks masih menjadi rujukan dalam pembelajaran namun lebih banyak dalam bentuk softfile (BSE). Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan buku teks biologi berdasarkan kompetensi dasar dalam kurikulum. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian analisis buku teks biologi kelas XI pada materi sistem pernapasan dan sistem pencernaan sudah cukup sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar pada kurikulum. Diitemukan satu kesalahan konsep pada materi organ sistem pencernaan. Jenis pertanyaan pada uji kompetensi belum diarahkan kepada kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Ditemukan dua kesalahan penulisan. Gambar yang disajikan relatif kurang menarik dan efektif karena hanya menggunakan warna kontras hitam dan putih. Melalui hasil penelitian ini, direkomendasikan agar proses pembelajaran menggunakan variasi sumber belajar yang akan saling melengkapi satu sama lain. Kata kunci: buku teks SMA; materi biologi

Abstract

One of the communication skills that must be possessed by prospective biology teachers is oral communication skills. Communication learning plays an important role. The aim of this research is to know the oral communication skills of prospective biology teachers through distance learning. This study uses True Experimental Design with a type of one shoot case study design. A research sample of 30 students of Wiralodra University Biology Education was randomly selected. The results of the data analysis showed that the communication skills of prospective biology teachers in distance learning using the Moodle platform were in the good category with a percentage of 81.8%. Key words: Communication Skills, Prospecive Biology Teacher   Abstrak. Salah satu keterampilan komunikasi yang harus dimiliki oleh calon guru biologi yaitu keterampilan komunikasi lisan. Dalam pembelajaran komunikasi berperan penting. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keterampilan komunikasi lisan calon guru biologi melalui pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini menggunakan True Experimental Design dengan jenis rancangan one shoot case study. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 30 mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Wiralodra yang dipiih secara random. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa Keterampilan komunikasi mahasiswa calon guru biologi pada pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan menggunakan platform Moodle berada pada kategori baik dengan presentase sebesar 81,8%. Abstract

Good learning is innovative learning following the times. To support the vision and mission of the Jambi Smart University, changes will be made to the micro learning courses in the biology education study program. The change is learning innovation using the PjBL (Project Based Learning) learning model. With this PjBL model, learning tools, teaching materials, and evaluation instruments will be developed to increase student creativity in the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Jambi University. The research method uses classroom action research (CAR) which is planned for 2 cycles. The stages include: planning, implementation and observation, and reflection. At the planning stage, a small discussion was held between the teaching team and agreed on the implementation of PJBL. At the implementation stage, students make a project in the form of a learning video containing teaching skills. At the observation stage: students are asked to present their project in front of the class virtually, then lecturers and colleagues observe and provide feedback. Finally, the reflection stage, input and comments from lecturers and colleagues are recorded and project improvements are made. In the first cycle, the results of the observation were 55% in the pretty good category. Then improvements were made from input and comments from lecturers and colleagues, so that in the second cycle there was an increase in student creativity at a score of 80% in the good category. Pembelajaran yang baik adalah pembelajaran yang inovatif mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Untuk mendukung visi dan misi Universitas Jambi smart maka mata kuliah pembelajaran mikro di prodi pendidikan biologi akan diadakan perubahan. Perubahan itu adalah inovasi pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran PjBL (Project Based Learning). Dengan model PjBL ini akan dikembangkan perangkat pembelajaran, bahan ajar, dan instrument evaluasi untuk meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Jambi. Metode penelitian mengunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang direncanakan 2 siklus. Adapun tahapnnya meliputi: perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan observasi, dan refleksi. Pada tahap perencanaan dilakukan diskusi kecil antar tim pengajar dan disepakati penerapan PJBL. Pada tahap pelaksanaan mahasiswa membuat proyek berupa video pembelajaran yang berisi keterampilan mengajar. Pada tahap pengamatan: mahasiswa diminta untuk mempresentasikan proyeknya tersebut didepan kelas secara virtual, kemudian dosen dan teman sejawat mengamati dan memberikan umpan balik. Terakhir tahap refleksi masukan dan komentar dari dosen dan teman sejawat dicatat dan dilakukan perbaikan proyek. Pada siklus 1 diperoleh hasil pengamatan 55 % kategori cukup baik. Lalu diadakan perbaikan dari masukan dan komentar dari dosen dan teman sejawat maka pada siklus II mengalami kenaikan kreativitas mahasiswa pada skor 80 % dalam kategori baik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of digital comic media on environmental pollution material for class X high school students, as well as students' perceptions of the media. This study uses the ADDIE model development design. The data collection technique used a questionnaire sheet and multiple choice questions. The instrument used was a validation questionnaire sheet to determine the feasibility of the media, teacher, and student-response questionnaires to determine the attractiveness of the media and multiple-choice questions to determine the effectiveness of the media. Data analysis techniques used in research and development are qualitative and quantitative. Based on the results of the validation of the development of digital comic media by material experts twice and media experts once the media was declared valid and could be tested, while the teacher response results obtained a percentage of 94% in the very good category, the results of student responses in small group trials obtained a percentage of 93 % in the very good category, the results of student responses in the large group trial obtained a percentage of 87% in the very good category and the results of field trials or effectiveness obtained a score of 54 in the control class and 71 in the experimental class, which means that learning outcomes using digital comic media are more effective. So it can be concluded that digital comics are feasible to be used as teaching materials. Key words: Development, Digital Comics, Environmental Pollution   Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan media komik digital pada materi pencemaran lingkungan untuk siswa kelas X SMA, serta persepsi siswa terhadap media tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pengembangan model ADDIE. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar angket dan soal pilihan ganda. Instrument yang digunakan berupa lembar angket validasi untuk mengetahui kelayakan media, angket respon guru dan siswa untuk mengetahui kemenarikan media dan soal pilihan ganda untuk mengetahui efektifitas media. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan yaitu kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil validasi terhadap pengembangan media komik digital oleh ahli materi sebanyak dua kali dan ahli media sebanyak satu kali media dinyatakan valid dan dapat diujicobakan, sedangkan hasil respon guru diperoleh persentase 94% dalam kategori sangat baik, hasil respon siswa dalam ujicoba kelompok kecil diperoleh persentase 93% dalam kategori sangat baik, hasil respon siswa dalam ujicoba kelompok besar diperoleh persentase 87% dalam kategori sangat baik dan hasil ujicoba lapangan atau efektifitas diperoleh skor 54 pada kelas kontrol dan 71 pada kelas eksperimen yang berarti hasil belajar dengan menggunakan media komik digital lebih  efektif. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa komik digital layak untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar. Kata kunci: Pengembangan, Komik digital, Pencemaran lingkungan

Abstract

Student involvement is essential to do in learning because it can affect student achievement. Student involvement can determine they to get meaningful learning. However, in reality, there is still a lack of student involvement in learning. This was observed from the lack of student involvement in expressing opinions during the learning process. Educators need to increase student involvement as subjects in learning. The application of participatory strategies can be a solution to increase student involvement in learning. The purpose of writing this journal is to find out the role of participatory strategies to increase student involvement in Biology learning. The method used is a literature review and qualitative descriptive. Each student is an image and likeness of God who has various characters. Although they have various characters that affect students in learning, they are all valuable in the eyes of the Lord God. In understanding students' abilities, Christian anthropology studies are needed which study character, goodness, and the human person. The application of participatory strategies can increase the involvement of students in learning. The results of the application of the participatory strategy showed that the students were able to achieve the three observed indicators of involvement. The participatory strategy is implemented according to the implementation steps through two methods, namely, discussion and think, pair, and share. Abstrak. Keterlibatan siswa merupakan hal yang esensial untuk dilakukan pada pembelajaran karena mampu memengaruhi prestasi belajar siswa. Keterlibatan siswa juga dapat menentukan dalam memperoleh pembelajaran yang bermakna. Namun pada kenyataannya, masih terdapat kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Hal tersebut teramati dari kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam menyampaikan pendapat selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Pendidik perlu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa sebagai subjek belajar dalam pembelajaran. Penerapan strategi partisipatif dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penulisan jurnal ini adalah untuk mengetahui peranan strategi partisipatif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa pada pembelajaran Biologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang dilengkapi dengan kajian literatur. Setiap siswa merupakan gambar dan rupa Allah yang memiliki beragam karakter. Karakter yang beragam sehingga memengaruhi siswa dalam pembelajaran, mereka semua berharga di mata Allah. Dalam memahami karakter siswa, diperlukan studi antropologi yang mempelajari tentang karakter, kebaikan, dan pribadi manusia. Penerapan strategi partisipatif dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran Biologi. Hasil penerapan strategi partisipatif menunjukkan bahwa para siswa dapat mencapai ketiga indikator keterlibatan yang diamati. Strategi partisipatif diimplementasikan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah penerapannya dengan menggunakan dua metode yaitu, metode diskusi dan think, pair, and share.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine prospective biology teachers’ perceptions and attitudes towards Instagram as a potential edutainment tool in biology learning. The study involved 87 prospective biology teachers from 4 public universities in Indonesia. Participants answered 15 closed questions and three open questions. Then data were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results demonstrated that prospective biology teachers had highly positive perceptions of Instagram as an edutainment tool in biology learning. Respondents strongly agree that Instagram is easier to use than other learning platforms to create and upload learning content. Prospective biology teachers’ attitudes show that they agree to use Instagram as an edutainment tool in biology learning. The use of Instagram also has the potential to increase motivation, interaction, and creativity and is enjoyable in learning biology. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji persepsi dan sikap calon guru biologi terhadap Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment yang potensial dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 87 calon guru biologi dari 4 perguruan tinggi negeri di Indonesia. Partisipan menjawab 15 pertanyaan tertutup dan tiga pertanyaan terbuka. Kemudian data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa calon guru biologi memiliki persepsi yang sangat positif terhadap Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment dalam pembelajaran biologi. Responden sangat setuju bahwa Instagram lebih mudah digunakan dibandingkan platform pembelajaran lain untuk membuat dan mengunggah konten pembelajaran. Sikap calon guru biologi menunjukkan bahwa mereka setuju untuk menggunakan Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penggunaan Instagram juga berpotensi untuk meningkatkan motivasi, interaksi, dan kreativitas serta menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran biologi.
