Abstract

Background: One of the problems experienced by the elderly is experiencing a decrease in cognitive abilities such as difficulty remembering, retrieving new information, focusing, making decisions and various aspects such as orientation, visual spatial, memory and language. The problem of cognitive decline will develop into dementia and will affect functional abilities and reduce the quality of life of the elderly. Prevention of cognitive decline in the elderly can be done with cognitive interventions in the form of memory training anagram games. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of anagram game memory training on cognitive abilities in the elderly. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test method with a total sample of 42 elderly people at Aisyiyah Sumber Solo Nursing Home. The research instrument used the Indonesian version of the Montreal Cogntive Assessment (MoCA-Ina). Three stages of the anagram game were given each intervention based on the research module that had been prepared. The data analysis method uses paired t-test with the previous stage, namely data normality test with Shapiro Wilk. Results: The paired t-test results showed that the sig value was <0.05. An increase in moCA-Ina scores occurred after being given anagram game memory training intervention (mean difference 2.48). Memory training of anagram games affects the cognitive abilities of the elderly at Aisyiyah Sumber Solo Nursing Home (????=0.000). The research sample was entirely female, 76.2% dominated by the early elderly age group, 90.5% low-level education. Conclusion: This study shows that memory training intervention in the form of anagram games has a significant effect on the cognitive abilities of the elderly. Abstract

Background: Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by a lack of social interactin, difficulty in communication, both verbal and nonverbal, and very limited interests and activities. Cognitive is a thinking process, which refers to an individual's capacity to connect, evaluate, and consider. Cognitive abilities can affect children's language, one aspect of language is pragmatics (turn-taking). Objectives: This research aims to determine the relationship between cognitive abilities and the turn-taking ability of children with autism at UPT Pusat Layanan Disabilitas dan Pendidikan Inklusif Surakarta. Methods: The research used a type of quantitative research with a crosssectional design. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a sample size of 38 respondents. Research instruments used to measure cognitive abilities used the Cognitive Linguistic Evaluation instrument and an instrument to measure turn-taking ability used a pragmatics questionnaire. The statistical test used in this research is the Kendall's Tau test. Results: The results of data analysis obtained from cognitive abilities in children with autism are dominated by the category below average (76.3%) and the results of turn-taking ability in children with autism are dominated by the less category (57.9%). Kendall's Tau test results showed p = 0,000 (???????? accepted), with a correlation coefficient (r) = 0,622 which means it has a positive correlation in the strong category. Conclusion: There are relationship between cognitive ability and turntaking ability of children with autism at the UPT Pusat Layanan Disabilitas dan Pendidikan Inklusif Surakarta. Abstract

Background: Children between the ages of 0 and 6 are called the golden years because at this age, children experience rapid development and growth in all aspects. At the age of 4-5 years, the most appropriate time to develop all abilities in children, one of the most important abilities is language. As a teacher, you can help provide stimuli such as storytelling or reading storybooks in children's language development. Objectives: To find out the relationship between the use of storybook media and the receptive language skills of children aged 4 to 5 years. Methods: This research is quantitative research that uses a correlation study research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used is intentional sampling. The data collected will be analysed univariately and bivariately. The statistical test used is spearman rank. Results: The results of the data analysis obtained a ρ value of 0.000, which implements accepted Ha. We also know that the correlation value r = 0.668, which shows that the correlation between the two variables is strong with a positive direction. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the use of storybook media and receptive language skills with a high level of correlation and positive direction, which means that the higher the use of storybook media and the more receptive language skills are used. Abstract

Background: The presence of parents as one of the components in society is one of the supporting components in the growth and development process of autistic children. Parental support becomes one of the factors for the success of therapies conducted by children, such as providing full support to the child, motivating the child, consulting about the child's issues, as well as parenting style. Regarding the pragmatic abilities of children with autism, they have difficulties in developing interactive conversations. This happens because the symptoms of autism make it difficult for them to understand and predict the thoughts and feelings of others. Objectives: This study aims to determine whether there is an Influence Between Parental Compliance Level in Conducting Home Programs and Pragmatic Abilities in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder at PLDPI Surakarta City. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with an observational analytic research design, and the experimental design used is the One group pretest-posttest design. The sample size in this study is 30 autistic children at PLDPI Surakarta City using the Purposive Sampling technique. The statistical test used is Spearman rank.Results: The description of parental compliance in conducting home programs yielded highly compliant results from 17 respondents, compliant from 9 respondents, and less compliant from 4 respondents. The description of pragmatic abilities in autistic children yielded highly capable results from 6 respondents, capable from 9 respondents, and less capable from 15 respondents. The Spearman's rank correlation test results showed ρ = 0.000 (ρ < 0.05 = Ha accepted), with an r value of 0.619 and a positive correlation direction. Conclusion: Based on the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the level of parental compliance in conducting home programs on pragmatic abilities in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder at PLDPI Surakarta City. The strength of the influence between these two variables falls into the strong category. Abstract

Background: Neurodevelopmental disorders are associated with disorders that lead to brain development characterized by an inability to reach normal limits of cognitive, emotional and motor development. This is also characterized by a delay in the language development process. Cognitive-linguistic is the ability to use language, both written and spoken, in various forms to express ideas. One of them is semantic skill. Semantics is the part of language structure that is related to the meaning of expressions and the meaning structure of speech. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between cognitive-linguistic and semantic skill in children with neurodevelopmental disorders in special schools in Surakarta City. Methods: This research is a quantitative research with a descriptive correlational research design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with 60 respondents. The research instrument uses a linguistic intelligence test (Cognitive Linguistic Evaluation) and a semantic ability questionnaire. The statistical test used in this study is Kendall's Tau. Results: The results of the Kendall's Tau test showed a ρ value of 0.000 (ρ < 0.05) and a correlation strength of 0.417. This means that there is a relationship between cognitive-linguistic and semantic skill, with a moderate correlation strength and a positive correlation direction. This means that the higher the child's cognitive-linguistic, the higher their semantic skill. Conclusion: There is a relationship between cognitive-linguistic and semantic skill in children with neurodevelopmental disorders in special schools in Surakarta City. Abstract

Background: Language is one way of stimulating a child's way of thinking. If a child's language skills are low then it is likely that the child will experience delays in his thinking process. Receptive language development is a complex process in a child's development. Parents can develop their children's receptive language through activities in the form of telling stories, because it can stimulate their language development, especially in the way they think, listen, solve problems and form their character. Storytelling is known to be able to improve children's language skills, because vocabulary will increase when children often listen to stories. Objectives: This research aims to determine the relationship between storytelling and receptive language skills of preschool children in Jebres District Surakarta. Methods: This research uses a quantitative type of research, cross sectional research design. The data collection technique uses purposive sampling. The sample for this research was children aged 2-5 years as many as 65 respondents. The data analysis technique uses the Kendall Tau Test. Results: The results of the research show that there is a relationship between storytelling and receptive language skills of preschool children in Jebres District Surakarta. The significance value is 0.000, which means the p value <0.05 and the r value is 0.511. This shows that the strength of the correlation between the two variables is in the strong category with a positive direction, which means that the higher the storytelling provided, the higher the child's receptive language skills and can increase receptive language skills with a possible percentage of 51.1%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between storytelling and receptive language skills of preschool children in Jebres District Surakarta. Keywords : Receptive Language, Storytelling, Early Childhood

Abstract

Background: Down syndrome (SD) is the most common genetic disorder and the easiest to identify. SD or better known as the genetic disorder trisomy, where there is an extra chromosome on chromosome 21. Objectives: Analyzing syntax abilities in Down Syndrome children and learning materials in writing scientific research as well as providing additional information regarding syntax abilities in Down Syndrome children. Methods: The research carried out is a systematic review research. This research uses data from previous research. A quantitative systematic review combines findings from various independent studies, and produces a statistical summary of those findings (Last, 2001 in Murti, 2018). Results: Down syndrome children show conditions of intellectual problems that are continuous with language problems. Where cognitive abilities are the main capital in communication. Conclusion: Syntax communication abilities create core impairments in the narratives of children with Down syndrome. Abstract

Background: Articulation ability greatly influences a child's speech clarity. Articulation involves speech organs such as the tongue, teeth, lips and palatal organs. The accuracy of the phonemes produced depends on the oral structure of the speech. One of the causes of errors in the formation of phonemes in a person is due to interference or damage to the articulator. This can be affected, among other things, by the habit of sucking a pacifier too often and for a long time. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of using pacifiers on the production of articulatory sounds in children aged 3 to 6 years at the Nirwana Integrated Preschool Kindergarten Banjarnegara. Methods: This type of quantitative research with a Cross- Sectional. Data collection techniques using Purposive Sampling with a sample of 25 respondents. The data that has been collected will be univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Results: Based on the results of the Spearman Rank analysis test, the value of ρ (sig.) is 0.004 or value of ρ (sig.) ≤ 0.05, then Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted, indicating that there is an effect of using pacifiers on children's production of articulatory sounds. The correlation coefficient value is 0.557, which means that the level of correlation or relationship between the two variables is in the range of 0.4 to < 0.6, that is to say the medium category. Conclusion: There is an effect of using pacifiers on the production of articulatory sounds in children aged 3 to 6 years at the Nirwana Integrated Preschool Kindergarten Banjarnegara. Abstract

Background: An actor is a profession that requires both good vocal range and a quality voice simultaneously. In their workplace, they utilize their voices, which poses a risk of vocal issues such as overuse, potentially leading to voice problems. Persistent voice problems can endanger their professional career. Objectives: Discovering whether there is a correlation between the duration of voice usage and vocal issues among theater actors at the Theater Studio in the Surakarta City Area. Methods: Based on the type of data, this research is a quantitative study and is cross-sectional type. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling with a sample size of 50 respondents. The statistical test employed is the Spearman’s Rank test. Results: The results of the correlation analysis using Spearman's Rank test indicate that the p-value is 0.188 or >0.05. It can be interpreted as accepting H₀ and rejecting Ha, indicating no relationship between the duration of voice use and voice problems in theater actors at the Theater Workshop in the Surakarta City area. Furthermore, the correlation strength (-0.189) is weak with a negative correlation direction, suggesting that the longer the duration of voice use, the smaller the value of voice problems. Conclusion: There is no correlation between the duration of voice usage and voice problems among theater actors at the Theater Studio in the Surakarta City Area. Abstract

Background: Literacy is a very important issue in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) states that Indonesia is ranked 64 out of 65 countries in terms of literacy in children. To develop literacy skills from an early age, children must be encouraged to engage in lifelong learning (UNESCO, 2017). In literacy there are aspects of language that influence reading, namely syntax. This syntactic ability has an important role in early child development, This is needed so that children can compose sentences in a good and correct structure. Objectives: This Research to determine the correlation between syntactic skills and early literacy skills in grade 2 children at SD Negeri 1 Pilang, Randublatung, Blora. Methods: The type of research used in this study is quantitative with Cross sectional research design. The population of this study was grade 2 students at SD Negeri 1 Pilang, Randublatung, Blora. The study sample was 54 grade 2 children. Data analysis using Kendall Tau Test. Results: The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between syntactic skills and early literacy skills in grade 2 children at SD Negeri 1 Pilang, Randublatung, Blora (p value of 0.000). Conclusion: There is a relationship between syntactic skills and early literacy skills in grade 2 children at SD Negeri 1 Pilang, Randublatung, Blora.
